Destiny Etiko was indirectly referring to Kenya in her post, and she deserves to be berated by the Kenyans.
Infact, Destiny also insulted Nigerians in her post

Giving the impression that Nigerians don't hold their elected leaders accountable.

This is the problem with Africa and the world today. People are now so angry, bitter and frustrated with their own personal situation to the extent they no longer wish to respect boundaries and the rights of others.

Destiny Etiko is speaking about her own people and nation. I.e Nigerians and Nigeria. She did not mention Kenyans, Kenya or anyone else and their nation.

Whatever Kenyans are going through does not mean they turn the whole African social media space into '#Kenyans anger matters' or '# all Africans must share Kenyans frustration'.

They should face their matter and leave destiny alone. They are acting like religious fundamentalist always seeing 'disprespect' of their God and religion everywhere and in everything. Petty people.

/
You do realize that if Nigerians have even an iota of functional brain, what Destiny Etiko posted is a big insult to them. Imagine pointing out that people are good at enduring hardship in the midst of plenty. Is that a compliment? Now you know why Nigerians are like global locusts exporting crime wherever they migrate as correctly pointed by Kenyans who bear the brunt.

Don't mind them. Many Nigerians are mentally unhealthy and self-hating individual who think any attack against Nigerians, their government and existence is automatically valid and justified.

This lady made a comment on her own Instagram page and did not mention Kenya or Kenyans. Yer they attacked her over issues ongoing in their nation that has nada to do with Nigerians.

Talk about overstepping boundaries.
You all yoruba boys, and Tinubu foot soldiers fighting hard to out fooolish one another. 😆

Your latest job on Nairaland right now is to quench any post, and comments that seeks to provoke a protest. 😂

But what you don't know is that even without a protest, Tinubu already won the most clueless president since Nigeria Democracy, and this is visible to the blind, and audible to the deaf.

Our abilities to always look for cheaper alternative has led us to a cul-de-sac. Now, alternatives are no longer cheap. I wonder when we will realize we have taken enough shit from our leaders.

I like the maturity she displayed by apologizing even tough the Kenyans took her post out of context. She understands the influence she wields across the continent and what emotional intelligence means. Some lunatics would have started sounding politically correct in their rejoinder.

Nigerians are the real VIPs. What was the stupid actress trying to imply? In the light of the current situation in Kenya, that post reeks of insensitivity. There is no doubt that Nigerians are intelligent, combined with our huge population, we have a great influence in Africa. However, we are still a backward nation because we have intellectuals who out of fear and greed would support evil. That we acknowledge the criticisms from Kenya is an indication of humility. How far has our arrogance and pride carried us in the comity of nations?

You don't understand the content of a message because for me she's trying to mock Nigerians because if truly we are like Kenyans this politicians won't have drawn us to the level will be drawn to today.. During good luck Jonathan. When fuel subsidy was increased to merely 145 naira the whole of Nigeria went down but here we are today patiently buying the fuel for 600 naira and believing that as you are you increasing taxes every day and we keep believing we are heading somewhere better

The summary of her post is suffering and smiling

Stop writing trash! Her post wasn't about Kenyans! Either way, I like the maturity she showed by apologizing to her fans in Kenya even though she didn't owe any of those people any apologies. She displayed maturity and emotional intelligence.

At times I wonder if our crazy criminal minded politicians read other people's perceptions about them. Nigeria has long lost it's glory amongst Africans that they are now seen as an object of mockery by other Africans. This is due to the rogues who have taken turns to ruin the nation.

Re: Tax Protests: Kenyans Berate Destiny Etiko For ‘Insensitivity by Amah70: 10:58am On Jun 30
Etiko, you don't pretend you
didn't know what happened in Kenya before your post.

1)
Kenyans get functioning education institutions where they get better education that
enabled them follow their country's budget. Nigeria's education system churns out mostly poorly informed people who are not equipped to follow up with the financial policies of Nigeria's leaders.

2) Nigeria is an ethnically and religiously fragmented country, such that any protest initiated by any Nigerian group is branded ethnoreligious and quickly fizzles out.

Even NLC demand for wage increase is seen as ethnically biased because the NLC Chairman is Igbo.

Etiko doesn't understand that mass protests are not practicable in Nigeria.

I support this Kenyan backlash with my full chest

Maybe e go make Nigerians wake up

Yes e go actually make Nigerians angry and wake and take their fight to the government in the comment section and the content sector

Watch people do content about this backlash

Instead of realizing their actual responsibilities and obligations

Kenyans can. Protest if there like, but we Nigerians don't want another end sars. Our government can send army and police to kill innocent protesters without thinking about the effects..The politicians have succeeded in dividing the masses into tribe and religion before Nigeria and any protest will have a tribal or religious coloration.

Na social media cause am. The world is now such a small place that anything you say and do now is heard and interpreted worldwide at the same time.

However, this incident shows how Nigeria entertainment industry has conquered Africa and the Black World in general to the extent that Nigerian stars are not just Nigerian stars but African stars and what they say or do carries weight. I don't think Nigerians would be concerned with what a Kenyan actress says. Hell! I don't even know any Kenyan actress!
