From what I just read, I think we should be more concerned about Kenyans comments about Nigerian leaders. The world knows our leaders are corrupt and wicked and depriving us of lot of things, yet we are smiling in suffering. A revolution that will swallow them all is around the corner, believe me.

Yinmu! 🙄🥴😏😏

This is to show that Etiko is just beauty without brains. Instead of her to see d problem of her country where citizens allow the politicians to trample on them cus of tribe , she is praising mediocrity. I hail the kenyans for standing up for their rights n keeping their leaders in check

The Kenyans attacking her post are stupid people. I wander how they can just conclude she's talking about them without any evidence

All these T!efnubu- supporting cockroaches.

They'll always support rubbish.

The Kenyans are attacking her because her post made it look like they couldn't endure like Nigerians and therefore are inpatient and on the wrong side.

How would the cockroaches supporting a clueless, old and corrupt thief in Aso Rock not support her post when they're happy that Nigerians are not protesting but just dying in silence

Don't mind them. Many Nigerians are mentally unhealthy and self-hating individual who think any attack against Nigerians, their government and existence is automatically valid and justified.

This lady made a comment on her own Instagram page and did not mention Kenya or Kenyans. Yer they attacked her over issues ongoing in their nation that has nada to do with Nigerians.

Talk about overstepping boundaries.
That's what's I say constantly. Many Nigerians are Lazy . That's why Buhari said the youth are lazy. They are only online reacting to things without reasoning. I don't see anything bad in what the lady wrote. Come to the western world you will see how Nigerians are been celebrated in various careers but in Nigeria, our citizens destroy our country with their tongues

Nigerians suffer because of tribalism and religious bigotry not because they have patience or resilience

Moreso this was a stupid post from the c list actress, Kenyans have the right to protest bad policies that affects them.

The question is can Nigerians emulate such brave move

Exactly well said bro. I don't blame the likes of Destiny Etiko for waking up and spewing such rubbish, because they are part of the minority elites who benefit from the corrupt state of affairs in Nigeria. I personally I'm livid with the fact that we aren't protesting the current hardship in the country, beginning to look a lot like cowardice suffering and smiling. A Giant thumbs up to the Kenyans for fighting for their rights!!

It's the truth, no doubt, but I don't know the divide you are on; that post was insensitive and an insult.

1. It is not insensitive because she never mentioned Kenya or referred to anything concerning them. Other countries experiencing unrest might as well come out and say she is talking about them. You people will just take an harmless post and twist it into something else. Maybe tomorrow when she comes out and post about how she loves good food, you will say it's insensitive to people that are struggling to get food.

2. You either take what she said as an insult or a reality check because it doesn't change the fact that it is the truth. So you're now triggered because she said the truth?

How can anyone be glorifying suffering??
Nigerians are not patient, but fearful!
There is a huge difference between being patient & fearful!

Nigerians are not actually a fearful people but they are not yet matured and civilised to leave behind their tribal and religious differences to unite and fight for the things that will benefit them all corrupt evil nigerian politicians clearly see this weakness and take advantage of it to capture power for themselves, their families and their cronies.

Destiny Etiko was indirectly referring to Kenya in her post, and she deserves to be berated by the Kenyans.
Infact, Destiny also insulted Nigerians in her post

Giving the impression that Nigerians don't hold their elected leaders accountable.

This your comment is better but if you think you can use vulgar display on them, my brother those people will skin you alive raw. Using the word "stupid" can aggravate their anger the more and they will not spare your day with strong words. Modern African revolution has been nothing but disasters. From Egypt, to Libya, to Algeria, Sudan.....the Countries got worse.

The Kenyan youths doing the revolution have been looting stores and burning properties, if you can't take your eyes off groceries, how do you intend to take your eyes off public funds if you get to power?

What you refer to as doggedness is foolishnesss actually.
Fela Kuti called it 'Suffering & Smiling'.
bro am not supporting back leaders na, are we not all suffering it. The way forward for Nigerians is to vote out incompetent, deciet and selfish leaders, that doesn't mean we wont recognise the fact that an average Nigerian person is so so duggered and ruggered to survive no matter where they find themselves.

Fela sang and expose evil leadership in the military era, after his death many artists have done same.....but the truth is, things are still getting worst not just bad. Let voters vote competent, transparency and integrity when the opportunity arises that is the solution. Peace

See what ethnicity, religiosity and sectionalism have caused to our nation that fellow Africans now dragging Nigeria on the floor and lambasting the dossier citizens and the government. They have even labeled the government as illiterate and a broken system.
Now, let me requote three of the comments that really hit us below the belt:

Sellasie’s comment read: “Continue to be patient as you suffer in your motherland while a few people enrich themselves and the rest of you languish in poverty. I’m proud to be Kenyan, and we fight for what is just. Our president has conceded in the fight against the Kenyan Finance Bill. Power belongs to the people.”

Furthermore, Luvv Vanneyy emphasised that Kenyans are educated and deserve fair employment with adequate pay rather than resorting to theft and fraud like Nigerians.

“We’re not dwelling on the theft and fraud that your fellow brothers and sisters are committing here in our country. Your whole generation is flocking to our country; take them and be patient with your broken and uneducated government. Your brothers are busy stealing from older women and men. Speak for yourself”, Vanneyy said.

And some people say they would not changed that we shall continue in this mess, even as they pass it over to their unborn children.

Let me quickly point this to our regular government hailers and the enemies of Nigeria that think they are more patriotic than those talking. helinues, seunmsg, madridguy, Legendhero, Paraman, Freestyle,, Swissmass, Trutharena, yarimo, BondRiv, DevilsEqual, WizardOfNG, Segzy19 are you all there,? Who gives a fvuck what Kenyans think about us.

Na social media cause am. The world is now such a small place that anything you say and do now is heard and interpreted worldwide at the same time.

However, this incident shows how Nigeria entertainment industry has conquered Africa and the Black World in general to the extent that Nigerian stars are not just Nigerian stars but African stars and what they say or do carries weight. I don't think Nigerians would be concerned with what a Kenyan actress says. Hell! I don't even know any Kenyan actress!
Hahaha, how can you say you don't know any Kenya actress? That's an insult to them and they might come for your head.

If Nigerians truly understood how the world views them, we would be compelled to hold our heads in shame and stay silent. The actions of some Nigerian youths and the government's shortcomings have severely tarnished our global reputation through rising incidents of fraud and other illegal activities. If this trend continues unchecked, it is only a matter of time before external forces take significant actions against us.

Did she mentioned Kenya, did she post it on Kenya news-line? No. But because the Kenyans are making mockery of her, and your country and we its citizens out of envy, it suited your hateful agenda, and you therefore rise in support of them.

You that have been writing and posting diatribes against government and tribes here, because the person ruling the country is not from your tribe, what difference has it brought on public perception, except to titillate your ego on this inconsequential Nairaland platform.
grin grin grin
You see what the Kenyans are talking about? You know my tribe based on what I write about govt. DeepSight come and see what I was talking about.

So you mean the Kenyans envy Nigerians' ability to be patient and endure? Well, patience is known to be a virtue grin grin

Niraland has a huge audience. Why don't you explain to the youths, whom you wish would rise up and overthrow the system in Nigeria, how to go about doing so.

You hint, when you state, quote:

" Nigerians are not yet matured and civilised to leave behind their tribal and religious differences to unite and fight for the things that will benefit them all corrupt evil nigerian politicians"

that Nigeria politicians, presumably, the president of Nigeria, does not have cross tribal support. If so you're operating under a number of basic misconceptions and assumptions. For instance, the president of Nigeria does have cross tribal support. He has huge supporters all over Nigeria and the party to which he belongs was voted into office by millions of Nigerians. For every individual who claims that the leaders of Nigeria attained power by illegal means there is another who believes he attained power through acceptable democratic process.

Also dismissing the Nigeria political landscape as one constricted by tribalism is simplistic. Nigeria has a multiplicity of ethnic nationalities for want of a better term, but also religious dimensions, philosophical outlooks, gender rights issues, raging capitalists, effectively independent military, nationalists and so on. One man's cry of tribal persecution is another man's cry of tribal manipulation. There are separatists also which complicates any justifiably coherent narrative on Tribalism (ironically) since any narrative is, if we can be objective, undermined by partiality. Another factor to consider in your simple assessment of Nigerians, is Nigeria's state system. The majority of Nigeria's ethnic groups are arguably represented by a state.

However you may wish it , Nigeria is not an immature polity.

You stated
unite and fight for the things that will benefit them all

Explain and outline what form this would take, how it will lead to the desired outcome that satisfy the greatest number of Nigerians, leaving the nation in a better place than before?
