Not long ago I had a conversation with a friend stating the fact that, if proper decision/policies is not put in place by our government, that is, diversifying the economy, in the next 10 years, our onborn children will suffer which I pray I does not happen. Currently, it's been projected that by 2030, we shall have 40% electric cars plying the road. The question then is, what will happen to our crude oil and how can we survive as a nation?

Crude oil is beyond just fuel, diesel and gas.

Federal gov, pls use this opportunity to set up solar-powered charging station across the country. It can run concurrently with CNG gas installations.

The solar-powered charging stations can first be piloted in Lagos and Abuja, and replicated across the country. It might not cost the federal gov any penny to install because western countries with big green initiatives can offer grants to install it across the country. It can also be a public/private partnership where the firm chosen is willing to install the charging stations and maintain it with the support of the government.

Nigerians can have petrol, CNG and electric vehicle options, so the government is not held to ransom because of either scarcity or rise in the price of petrol.

In years time, when electricity supply gets better, people can charge their vehicles from their homes.

We can also have the solar-powered charging stations midway where Lorries travel, so transporters moving agricultural goods across the country can buy electric Lorries and recharge at various points across the country. This will eliminate the effects of diesel volatility.

Secondly, Toyota already have lots of Hybrid cars or HEVs in Nigeria already like Camry Hybrid, Avalon Hybrid, Prius and Highlander Hybrid...so whats the hype about?

Even Innoson, Nord and the like have true EVs so what are we talking about.. shocked shocked
Saglev, is about to start producing EVs in Ikorodu, Lagos Nigeria as announce... now that should be the exciting news, not this one...

Where will they charge them? Did you know that the cost of building charging station and charging are more than building petrol station and buying petrol.

If you do charge your vehicle you cannot drive too far unless you are sure of a charging station is or are were you are driving to. Otherwise.. you will have to tow your car back home.

Three model for starters.

What is bad in starting with 3 models? Model is different from the actual count of cars to be manufactured.

BREAKING: RUSSIAN MPs HEAD TO UNITED NATIONS TO APPEAL ‘US BIOLABS’ IN AFRICA

According to RT, the Russian State Duma (the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia) is preparing an appeal to the UN regarding the alleged activity of US military biolaboratories in Africa, Deputy Chairman Aleksandr Babakov has said.

In an interview with Russian media on Wednesday, Babakov stated that Africa should not be used as a “testing ground” by Washington.

According to the MP, the US is continuing “racist colonial policies towards the people of Africa.” Political elites in Washington lecture the world on democracy, while simultaneously deploying troops in sovereign states and instigating color revolutions, Babakov claimed.

He asserted that these actions have now escalated to conducting experiments on humans and creating biolaboratories as the US military seeks to engineer new weapons.

“This issue needs to be addressed at the UN Security Council, and we are currently preparing an appropriate appeal to the UN,” the Russian lawmaker stated.

Babakov also mentioned plans to reach out to the parliaments of African countries, to provide them with evidence of bioresearch conducted by the US.

On Tuesday, the head of Russia’s Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, claimed that Washington is expanding its biological military presence across Africa. He highlighted Africa as a new zone of interest for the US Defense Department and related agencies.

“Because Russia has managed to halt the implementation of biological warfare programs in Ukraine’s liberated territories, the Pentagon is forced to transfer incomplete research under Ukrainian projects to other regions,” Kirillov alleged. Russia has documents confirming the rapid expansion of the US biological warfare presence in Africa, the general added.

Remember when I attacked the so called “Chemical Security” agreement involving Nigeria? Well, that was just me raising an alarm. Haven’t even scratched the surface. This right here, is just a tip of the iceberg. Gradually, I’ll lead you down the rabbit hole till you come face to face with the “big elephant” in the rabbit hole. And maybe then, you’ll learn never to argue with facts nor contend with those who proudly and fearlessly bear it.

..LOL!!
I'm no supporter of Obi nor Atiku, but have you waited a minute to think whether this is going to be viable or you just allowed it to pass through your brain without processing it?
In a country where people die daily in Teaching hospitals because there is no power to carry out basic/simple procedures on them is promising you electric vehicles. You should know its an audio one
Even China, can cope with electricity demand of their electric vehicles and are advocating rationing, then a country with mere 5000 megawatts, not enough to power 10% of the country is jubilating over electric vehicles......reason my brother, reason!!!

Haters and Obidients will say na lie! Everything positive is a lie! No production in the country! They keep importing the unnecessary thinking Nigeria can better based on importation! All they circulate are fake products from china and nothing else!

HEV is Hybrid Electric Vehicles.

The journalist is not bright though, he or she could have done better by adding hybrid to the topic title.

Make una continue to lamba una sef....Even in the USA, Toyota is still lacking behind when it comes to electric, in fact the whole electric vehicle market is in a decline.

The problem is not electric vehicles, the problems are charging stations and repair/maintenance!

Imagine you dey live for mainland and the only place you can charge your vehicle is on the Island. Imagine you spent 3 hours for traffic and your battery died.....OMO grin grin

Topic title is a bit misleading.

HEV does not need plugin. It's charged by the ICE (internal combustion engine). It automatically switches to electric when some conditions are met. Then returns to using gas if those conditions are not met.

However, 100% electric are the Teslas, ford f150 lighting, Hyundai Kona e.t.c
