BreconHills:I think you need to take your own advice and improve your comprehension skills. I didn't say the bill was harmful to the masses, I said the word "tax" may trigger an uproar. Do you APC supporters read with your eyes closed ni? ![]() ![]() |

if the same executive team manages all the countries in the world , in the case of Saudi recovery from loss of oil revenue they diverted Saudi from oil revenue dependent economy to future tech incubator and smart city test ground. The same executive team in the case of Nigeria recovery from loss of oil revenue decided to focus collection of lost oil revenue from from the population who were already over 100 times poorer than Saudi citizens |

Until price of fuel returns to N200, bag of rice to N21k and dollar rate to N500 Tinubu's government won't be taken seriously by majority of Nigerians. No long epistle and grammar can solve the hunger and quagmire in the country. |

BreconHills:Perhaps you haven't heard of something called "herd behaviour" in Psychology. If the whole essence of Kenya's recent riot was caused by "Tax" what makes you think the word "Tax" won't trigger a riot in Nigeria too? ![]() ![]() How did the whole Arab Spring happened? Didn't it begin in Tunisia? How did the then coup that swept away about 3 civilian administrations in Sub-Sahara Africa begin? One country did theirs and the others began to follow suit. A sensitive government would gauge the mood of the people before releasing their policies because just a spark is enough to ignite the fire of revolution. But you know what? Why should one interrupt an enemy who is trying to hang himself? Tinubu and his gang of incompetent politicians can hang themselves for all I care. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Sirheny007: Which nonsense Lagos magic. He turned the youths to touts and bus ticket collectors. He empowers some by buying keke napep okada etc. Then the major issue now is taxation. Tinubu is a tax master, all he knows is tax. No hope for nigeria as long as incompetent people are in power. I have said it. |
Re: President Tinubu Approves New Withholding Tax Policy by 7arrows: 3:11pm |
ravensckar: That's his surname TAX. He did it in Lagos. And the painful part is that they wants the money for their pockets and not our benefit. |

phemray:werey! Which Lagos magic? Lagos without drainage or good roads? That 30 minutes rain will have people getting home by 1am from work because of flood, bad roads and no alternative routes? What exactly did he do in Lagos that you morons are always on about? |
Re: President Tinubu Approves New Withholding Tax Policy by Ikumapkayi: 5:18pm |
Brendaniel: The challenge with this generation is that they react without facts. Nigerians have been experincing tough times with successive governments. OBJ you just reference increased fuel subsidy more than 3 times and increased the exchange rates as well. The only President that dod not increase fuel subsidy is President Yaradua and off course he meet a whoping reserve of over $66b. Always do proper investigation before you comment. |

Re: President Tinubu Approves New Withholding Tax Policy by Brendaniel: 6:16pm |
Ikumapkayi: You think the fuel subsidy is the major problem here, that is the problem with you people, you would ignore important indices such as economy and focus on minor issues, Ask your self didn't OBJ increase salary, increased oil production to the highest Nigeria has ever produced and even surpassing the OPEC quota of 2 million barrels and sold excess crude and still saved, the 66 billion you talked about was saved from excess crude only .... Then also cleared all Nigeria's existing debts from about 35 billion to only about 2 billion dollars left, then also revamped the economy... That way even when he increased fuel price the citizens did not feel it like that, why ? Because he does his home work before taking such actions and you want to compare him and Tinubu who came on the first day of his tenure and removed subsidy without doing his homework.... You people just come out and be talking nonsense to defend nonsense after voting nonsense into power.... |
Re: President Tinubu Approves New Withholding Tax Policy by grandstar(m): 6:40pm |
Frankly speaking, I feel withholding tax should be abolished altogether.i just see it as an extra tax. Nigeria should seek to be a low tax haven, especially with company tax. Federal government has no business with personal income tax. That's for the state governments jurisdiction. Federal government needs to slash company tax to 15% or less. Withholding tax on dividends should be removed |
