that is my local government. Am from oyan town and the poster was right. In most school the principle will travel out of town for weeks or month. Government has nothing to do in this. Why don't the head of the school not cut the tree down and sell it to those woman who do garri or fufu.
Odo Otin is ur local government?.....I was there 2014....Ijabe, konta or so ....forgotten so much about Osun

you cool down write this thing and you think you made sense ? Yes it's the responsibility of the government to cut down the trees not the principal . The people pay taxes for Godsake
am from oyan town in odo otin local government of osun state, and I can say yes I don't blame the present government for this issue. What the poster bring up is not one or two in osun, is in every local government. In my town, we the youth have association every December we move from schools to school to clean up things and make donation even though am base in ilorin Kwara state I still make if home every December, we even create a Facebook page and WhatsApp TV on that. In this poster case u cant blame the government, but the school management. How much will it cost to cut down those tree and sell, majority of those villager use firewoods. I plan going to village with some.doctor friends to do free medical outreach this December with free drug and medical eye glasses. Government can't do everything for us.

Does that tree look like a two year old tree?

One of the things that the current administration under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke doesn't take with levity is the welfare and good living of the people of the state.

On many occasions, Mr Governor has directed government officials to make sure that people's welfare are taking care without any discrimination of what party or religion they belong.

Unfortunately, some school Principals are not helping the Governor in this regard, as many of them may be nursing fear of not being punished for wrong doings.

A visit to some public schools in some parts of the state shows some delapidated buildings which need urgent government intervention.

Few months ago, I was at Imesi-ile in Obokun local government area for a programme. I took tour round the town, getting to a public primary school, what I saw there was an eyesore as almost all the buildings have collapsed left with two buildings which are not in good condition. I asked myself, do we have students under these roofs, they are death trap. The building may collapse anytime.

Two weeks ago, I was in Ila-Orangun for a burial, on our way to the venue of the event, we had a stopover, a friend who was with us in the vehicle quickly called my attention to a primary school, college primary, apart from the condition of the school, trees have already grown to cover the school.

As we were trying to check the school, a young man, an indigen of Ila, came to our side, joined our conversation on why the trees were not cut to avert danger that it portents for both the teachers and students, the young man named like three other schools in Ila that face same danger.

They are: Ajagunla Grammar School, Igbonibi Grammar School and Agboluaje Grammar school. Trees have already covered the roofs, just a heavy rain with windstorm, those trees may fall on the buildings thereby results into causalities (God forbid)

One question that keeps ringing is that, is it that the Principals of those schools aren't care about the safety of the students and teachers or they wait for Governor Adeleke to give them directive on how to secure their schools or they want to wait until the trees fall and cause causality thereby subject the state government to unnecessary attack by the oppositions in the state.

I think the Principals of the affected schools need to be queried by the Ministry of Education.
Fake news!
This is somewhere in the East not Waste.

Agbadorians are always quick to attack governors that aren't from their party. When did Adeleke become a governor again? In every state in Nigeria, there's a dilapidated school structure, including yours...though you all claim to be aboriginal Lagosians.

Will you ever say this if Adeleke is in APC?

This is one of the part Easterners are better than you guys. @least east can critize non performing Governors/Leaders from any party.

Some of you chestbeat how Osun is richer than Anambra/Imo combined, even when we know that outside Lagos, SW no follow grin

You guys always pretend that all is well in your states while some of you only praise lagos as if it's their state of origin
You're a fool..
What happen to you focusing on your region?..
So he should've mention Tinubu or sanwo Olu when Adeleke is the governor of Osun state?..

When we say, many Nigerian politicians are worse than Witches of the 5th Level, many won't get the message.
The school in question lies in a town which is in turn in a particular local government area.
Aren't the LG chairman,Ward councillor supposed to bring the school's plight to the notice of the state government? And the governor if he's notified,is supposed to have done something about the school.
But alas,no.Because it is not election campaign period, when politicians would begin their useless eye service.

People just blame government for everything. So the governor will go and cut down trees or cut grasses for schools? What will the heads of the schools be doing? So the headmaster/headmistress or the Principal can't do this?

He will even generate revenue from it by selling the cut to size woods while sharing some to the teachers who need it. Irresponsible leaders everywhere, not just the elected leaders.

Am also wondering why they need the governor to cut trees when principal of the school can do that basic duty

Honestly APC or PDP politics has nothing to do with this .. the principal just lack comon sense

What is the work of the school management abeg?

Everything we point fingers at the governors.

Was the school principal dead watching those trees grew out of order?
If i am the state governor, I would uproot the school management first, before the trees.

You have left what he stated to chase shadows. Is Adeleke performing well in Osun State or not? You are busy beating about the bush. How can you know what he will say if it was APC? And is that even the point?

That is how you guys keep making stupid excuses for politicians.

Check out the colonial era windows. The building has be older than 98% of the people here on Nairaland.

Of course, cutting the trees should be organized by the principal. The wood in the north would be close to quarter of a million naira.
