Even Dangote is now wailing . I have always wondered when he will wail considering how much of his net worth has been eroded by exchange rate and Nigerian bad economic policies .

Dangote said Nigeria's import dependency is akin to importing poverty and exporting jobs" This is someone who only values foreign workers. I know of an abysmally inept Filipino mechanic who doesn't know 22 spanners but earns 5k dollars+ monthly. The site has over 50 workers but their cumulative salary is less than N5m monthly. Once your skin is light, you're an engineer even if you come from prison.
Dangote doesn't believe there are competent Nigerians, and that's why an Indian who doesn't know the difference between ampere and voltage is the head electrician to electrical engineers with decades of experience. The cement he produces almost free of cost is sold at a more expensive price in Naija than he sells in other countries on the continent.
He should stop crying. Nigeria doesn't revolve around him and Edwin

Those indians and the likes have kept his company going.

You can give us any company the size of dangote group and in thier line of business that doesn't have foreign workers in mass in Nigeria.. sometimes it is the issue of trust not even competence.

Cement isnt produced at anything near cheap. The disesel used to power those dump trucks and mining equipment aint cheap, the equipment themselves ain't cheap.. gas and LPO that runs the plant ain't cheap, gypsum isn't cheap too, there are licenses renewal for the coal and limestone mines

This Inflation is gone and will continue to soar unfortunately. The moment he listened ti those who advised him to devalue the currency, without thinking...Nigerian economy lost it.

As much as I sympathize with Dangote, there's no option bit to increase interest rates above inflation
There's simply no alternative to slay inflation.

All the curses being poured on Tinubus head would simmer once inflation is down.

Interest rates won't stay high forever. Once inflation begins to come down, interest rates would begins to slide down as well.

What you are saying is a narrow way to tackle inflation. Infact it won't have any affect if we don't produce much at the point in time. Also the fg is making it more impossible by borrowing more. Who in his right sense would come in to invest in this country when the economy is running slowkke a snail

you don't know what you are talking, I know two people who earn big salary with dangote group. They are Nigerian's. Go to okpella in Edo state and say this nonsense and see if you will have two legs completed again. Dangote fresh graduate employee get better salary than many federal government agency not even state because he paid higher. Maybe you have a cleaner in his company and you want the person to collect a supervisor salary. Their are factors making product from companies not only him to be cost. He generate electricity, he construct mostly roads to his companies, obajana in kogi state is an example. Provide security and so on. Why for example Erisco tomatoes in can or satchel not cheap since he got almost the raw materials within the country. No company will roll out product that will be cheap when government neglect the basic things affecting production. Michelin and Dunlop left Nigeria during Obasanjo regime because of electricity and same Obj looted whooping 16b dollars meant for electricity. I worked in the telecom sector before, my company could not cope with the contract gotten from mtn and the owner have to sold it and still the current guys are still struggling. I don't actually blame MTN and others because they spent so much on electricity, solar, security and so on. Dangote is great and remains a pivotal figure. Outside federal government, he generate employment than others. Some state could not even pay ordinary 30k minimum wage.

And what do you think will happen once industries, businesses, companies cannot sustain their workforce again owning to this high interest, more job lost to the already high unemployment, lower purchasing power, and stunted growth which bring about serious economics woes worst than inflation.. Economic policies is not something you do try and error with, it has serious ripple effect on everything..
Also the high interest rate is what is stylishly keeping the dollar from reaching 2k yet and that is also a function of time unless something drastic is done...

Put Nigerians at the helms of your business affairs and see it crumble fast.. An average Nigerian will sink your company for his own growth and owanmbe things.. Very dishonest and criminal minded people.. All they care about is how to become a millionaire from shady deals from your business without care in the world how the business will survive..

The very big and greatest mistake the president made was devalueing naira and removing subsidy at the same time.. Very stupid decision that I'm sire they are all regretting now.. Leaders should not be using fire brigade approach to solving problem especially economic and security policies

Tinubu doesn't care about Nigerians. He's just looking for means to steal, loot and embezzle money so he can buy out those that matter in 2027 and retain his seat.

That's why I shake my head whenever I see his hungry miscreants defending him online. That man would sell Nigeria if it would guarantee him a reelection. He cares about no one but himself.

The cbn is in a fix. To bring the rate of inflation and interest rate down simultaneously is no beans. If you lower the interest rate you end up releasing so much cash and inflation will go up.

One of the drivers of high exchange rate is excess liquidity. Therefore moderation in rate management is the key. There are so many macroeconomic and microeconomic dislocations in our system. Is not as simple as arithmetic.

You lie too much, how do you increase rates in an economy that is not credit driven to cut inflation, and an economy where the regulator has no control over money supply? Where there is so much cash outside the system? You are simply going to starve those who actually need capital for projects that can stimulate growth. Raising interest rates will only favor countries like the UK and the US where it is credit driven where most demand is credit fueled, so an increase in rate slows down credit and slows demand which forces price reduction and inflation reduction.
