Deltamani: Oshoala is enjoying the same privilege every Super Falcons legendary player has enjoyed through history. From Perpetual Nwokocha, Rita Chikwelu to the recent Onome Ebi, legendary players always get a place in the team sometimes for years after they have lost steam. She's not the same Oshoala we used to know, but she's done enough to earn her place in the team. Worthy of note is that she's playing at one of the best leagues in the world. She may not always start, but she's still needed in the team. Like you said, her name still sends shivers to opponents. A time however will come when she'll need to respectively bow out if her form doesn't improve. I still think it's a few years away though. Hoping she. The time comes she will take the Oparanozie route and leave when the ovation is loud. 1 Like |

yinkeys: Lol 😂 Natural left footers? What happened to Chinwendu Ihezuo, Esther Okoronkwo, Monday Gift who are natural left footers.. Then the likes of Uchenna Kanu, Toni Payne that their left foot is almost like that of the natural ones… Then Echegini, Demehin, Alozie who can can well do well with their left foot? 1 Like |

Deltamani:Like someone who won’t struggle playing as a Left Back in the defense. Lol just like England at this years euros So many right backs, no natural left footer Trippier playing left back They could struggle from this point in the tournament Glad Ihezuo & Macleans made it 100% merit list no sentiments Hoping they really go far in the tourney |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 11:34am On Jul 03 |
yinkeys: Okay, No natural left back in the List, but Chidinma Okeke have played there in most occasions even though she can play on any position in the defense line, Nicole Payne is the other option too, So she’s going there as a Full Back (Left & Right) even though she’s originally a Right Back.. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 11:36am On Jul 03 |
yinkeys: It is a solid list, but not necessarily balanced. This isn't a fault of Randy though as he has to work with what he has. We are going with 4 center forwards, some of who can be converted but that isn't the point. Macleans and Chiwendu are the same.people. Not sure why Randy opted for both of them. We have just 2 pure wingers in the list in Ajibade and Kanu (who is currently battling with fitness). The only other person who can slot in this role is Toni Payne. I would have preferred either of Monday Gift or Rinsola Babajide in the team. As also have just 2 central backs. Demehin who is the second CB hasn't played football in 6 months or so. Her return to football will be at the Olympics or a friendly before then. We are in trouble if any of them.gets injured. Don't get me wrong, I think Randy is making the most of the hand he's been dealt, this is however my commentary of the list. Quite solid, but definitely not balanced. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Deltamani: 1. Chinonyerem Macleans We didn't see it coming at all! She hasn't been in the Falcons since WAFCON 2022, not even sure she had much game time there. Can someone explain likely recent developments that made Randy go back to pick her ahead of Gift Monday, Ifeoma Onumonu and Babajide Rinsola? Though from what I've seen like Chiwendu Ihezuo she's a big physical striker, while the omitted 3 are light weight in terms of physique. Also Gift Monday and Babajide Rinsola are team mates (though Gift Monday débuted earlier). So omitting both prevents any sort of beef between the two . 2. Really Happy to see Oluwatosin Demehin is fit enough to be of use. 3. Can somebody also explain why Randy likely picked Morufa Ademola ahead of Linda Jiwuaku who has been in all his recent squad lists? 4. Only real big omission is Ashleigh Plumptre due to injury 5. Nicole Payne hasn't really played for Falcons too many times since WAFCON but her versatility makes it a sound choice. 6. The comebacks are Nicole Payne and Chinonyerem Macleans (picked WAFCON, missed WorldCup) and Chidinma Okeke and Chiwendu Ihezuo (Recalled Falcon stars from pre-WAFCON) 7. Another interesting stat: From the 18, only 5 players with dual nationality: Michelle Alozie, Nicole Payne, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echegini and Esther Okoronkwo. 1 Like |

ekehopp2: Morufa Ademola Is very talented and has developed a lot, currently the best Goalkeeper in the league! She did well with Rivers Angels this Season and also won the FA cup best Goalkeeper..! Macleans is well built just like Desire Oparanozie, quick and can use both feet’s effectively, She’s bringing that Barbara Banda/Temwa Chawinga kind of vibe even though they’re a little bit quicker than her… I think she would be playing the No,9 alongside Oshoala and Ihezuo… With Toni Payn, Esther Okoronkwo and Ihezuo also serving as Alternatives on the Flank..! 2 Likes |

BREAKING!!! Former Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi has said; she wished she could help the team in the Olympics qualifiers and featured in the Olympics for her to end it all in Paris. A legend at 40+ 👌. Committed to serving her Fatherland. “The coach made me understand that he wants to focus on younger players for the Olympics and I respect his decision as the coach before the qualifiers. “I would have loved to end it all with the honour of helping the team qualify and going for the Olympics which was my goal, but that wasn't in my power alone to make it happen and I would never beg to achieve that.” Onome wrote. |

Deltamani: How many players will play 9 abeg? Rinsola is more of a winger who can also play 9. Gift Monday too. To me, only the midfield is ok but defenders and attackers are off. So we would miss Ashleigh Plumptre in this Olympics? Kai... |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:09pm On Jul 03 |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:14pm On Jul 03 |
solonnachi: On the list right now, The natural no.9 are ranked 1• Chinonyerem Macleans 2• Chiwendu Ihezuo 3• Asisat Oshoala 4• Esther Okoronkwo While Esther and Chinwendu can play as Wingers but I don’t think Asisat Oshoala would want to play there again..! Toni Payne is also a Right Winger! Onyi Echegini can also play as a Left Winger I think Randy Waldrum also put Versatility into consideration!! 2 Likes 1 Share

yinkeys:The front have poor crossers of the ball. Rinsola was the only quality crosser there. This lefty issue again ehn😑😑😑 Means Toni is mainly here to play RW. The options depleted and not balanced. But fitness does what it gats do. Let's hope the added firepower gets us back to goalscoring form. That sector has been poor since COVID |
