Nothing special anymore about this rank. It is now an all-comers affair. The real SANs remain Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Rotimi Williams. Chief Richard Akinjide, and others like Dr Nabo Graham-Douglas, Chief (Mrs.) Folake Solanke, Chief Afe Babalola, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu. There was a time lawyers paid money to make the list.

He wasn't much into advocacy. He was an academic, a lecturer.

He isn't renowned for many cases unlike an Onyechi Ikpeazu or Wole Olanipekun for instance.

What is d just ground for academics to become SANs?
Is a senior advocate not supposed to be someone with very extensive & successful litigation experience ?

Someone who has contributed to the development of law and its practise - that is a basis for the academics to be qualified
