This one used his fingers to tweet himself into problems.

Why not leave the part that you beat her, until she alleges? Now that you guys have reconciled, how are you going to recover your brand, even if the court sets you free?
She posted some videos on Tik tok, which showed that she was physically abused, her face was swollen in the videos.

Igbo men are the best when it comes to marriage.

When people reply this post the right way now you will be the first to say "how does this thread concern Igbo now"??

This could've been better handled .

This union will suffer irreparably.

Jarus will have his reputation tarnished.

Nairaland and its team will be seen as immature

It is all a loss.

I don't see how that affects his reputation, husband and wife dey fight.....if at all it does, it will be short term..but as you rightly said the union will suffer irreparably now that he has been arrested. Will he be jailed, i doubt..if at all, he may be fined...but you see that union between him and the lady in question..is gone, She's no longer his PEACE!

I do not encourage domestic violence...just as i do not encourage any woman to tempt into it.

Just reading the screenshots. He was trying to buy her out with gift and money before resorting to beating LMAO.

You can still marry a 2nd wife without throwing gifts at her. That's where maturity comes in, and if she doesn't want it, it's okay to pack out instead of turning her to punching bag.
the gifts was like an appeasal ..

It's basically woman nature to flare up during situations like this so the gifts were actually appropriate not compulsory .

The woman trying to harm her husband through voodoo is what I don't conform with .

I'd she deserved a punishment but maybe not some beating .

I felts he could asked her to leave and go back to her father's house or something of that sort rather than boxing her up..

I'd rather that's not a mark of beating but that of bleaching or toning cream. Check the other cheek too.

That is how they start misbehaving once they see small change for their account. They feel they have arrived.

Who are you to punish somebody?
What right have you?
Seems you Nigerians don't know basic human right. Go and read that up.
It's in your constitution and as far as Nigerian is part of United nations, you have no right to punish anybody except the law if the person has been convicted.

Some went to school but learnt nothing.

"One day you're cock of the walk, the next you're a feather duster"

At one point in time, Jarus was a king on Nairaland

Until like Icarus, he got too high on his own supply (went on twitter to claim to be richer than Seun, more successful than Seun and how Seun is envious of him. Like he would be anyone today without Nairaland?)

Flew too close to the sun and now has gotten burnt.

How do you publicly own up to a crime, justify it online and even call into a radio station to say yes you did it and use Islam to claim rights?

Nigeria isnt officially an Islamic republic.

Yoruba muslims from Ilorin are weird, (neither fish nor fowl yet trying to be both).
Jarus is not from Ilorin though. Just his wife.

This will be an interesting case as Nigeria operates two different constitutions.
The penal code which is practiced in the north, which most Muslims regard as the authentic constitution gives a man the right to beat his wife.
While the criminal code which is for Southern Nigeria criminalizes wife-beating.

Juju, is it recognised in your constitution?
Does the UN recognise it?
Don't be too hasty to type.

Maybe, most of you think we still live in the olde days where there is no rule of law.
