A Nigerian lady has been applauded on social media after bagging a first-class degree in mathematics from the University of Uyo (UNIUYO).

The graduate has been identified as Victoria Idobo.

She took to X to share her accomplishment, posting a picture of her degree certificate.

“It’s now official! B.Sc in Mathematics with First Class Honours! I am particularly excited to have set and achieved this goal. I am grateful for all the support from friends and family. Congratulations to me!” she wrote.

The same Uniuyo convoked its female first class in Physics (second time in its history). Now, it's Mathematics. Kudos to the lass. First class in Mathematics is fairly common, though rare for a female to possess it. It's that of Physics that's a rarity. I can worship the ground a first class Physics grad walks on.

Passing aptitude tests or the GRE shouldn't be a problem. Getting good jobs will be so easy for them.

I am ignorant of the worshipping, but it is fairly common to read/see top grads in Mathematics rather than Physics. It is so rare even in the US.
