daveP: No need for too much Complain, Chiwendu Ihezuo is also a good option from the Left Wing, the good again is that she’s left footed, Strong and fast too! We’re all assuming from the players available but we still don’t know how Randy will set up yet, He’s full of surprises! I hope Coach Terry will join the team for the Olympics too.🤷♂️ |

lovewins: Yes among among the Alternate alongside Alba Redondo who just moved to Real Madrid. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 8:42pm On Jul 03 |
lovewins: I think so too. That 3-5-2 offers great flexibility in terms of attacking and defensive movement |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 10:10pm On Jul 03 |
Deltamani: We don't have the same personnel in defence. Demehin's fitness is doubtful and Ashleigh isn't in the team. With Demehin likely to start it isn't unlikely to think he'll play 4 at the back to protect the team defensively. |

Reunion. Jonathan Giraldez makes his touchline debut as coach of Washington Spirit this weekend and the Spirit are away to Bay FC, who send off Asisat Oshoala, Rachel Kudananji and Lysianne Proulx who are off to represent their national teams at the Olympics. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8-EKo-vl5o/?igsh=YXhrd2JnOXUwbGhx 1 Like

Deltamani: Obsession with Canada is too much. And na European team we suppose play. Why we dey avoid playing european teams? Austria dey. Poland, Denmark?? Why is it scenting like "going for the cheaper option to prepare for"? |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by timay1: 9:36am |
daveP: The Europran teams are playing Euro qualifiers, so they are not available The probblem is that the advent of Nations League will make playing Friendlies with Top European teams difficult to immpossible, Because those free windows that are not occupied by qualifiers, and are usually used for friendlies in the past, will now be taken by Nations league 1 Like |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by naptu2: 9:52am |
timay1: I have a view that this is the exact reason why the European Nations League was created. European teams will be able to play against other high ranking European teams and lower ranking African and Asian teams will have less chance to play against those European teams. I suspect that it has something to do with proposed changes to the men's World Cup. 1 Like |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 10:22am |
daveP: Na Wetin Dey available oo European team are occupied with Qualifying games so no space to fix in any friendly games.. This their Nations League and Women’s Euro Qualifiers don make fixing friendly games with them hard, Only the South & North American, African and Asian side Dey available.. Due to travel expenses some teams won’t bother again! At least Randy will be able to test his tactics with the Canadian game, they can still play against U17 boys team there in Spain.. 1 Like |

naptu2: Even those Turkish Cup, Argarve cup, Cyprus Cup tournaments are now declining because of the complex features of the European side’s.. CAF need to do better with our own fixtures so we can be competitive too.. At least our qualifying games here in Africa can be change to the group stage format of home and away where the top two teams qualifies for the major tournaments.. with this way they can gains points for the World Rankings too! 1 Like |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by naptu2: 10:28am |
The proposed changes to the men's World Cup are: 1) Expand the World Cup so that more teams can participate. 2) Make it a multi-stage event. 3) Lower ranked teams will play in the first stage in order to qualify for the second stage, but the higher ranked teams will skip the first stage and only take part in the second stage. 4) UEFA wants European teams to be the higher ranked teams. naptu2: |

Heart Breaking News… It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Halimatu Ayinde injured her knee during training yesterday and will unfortunately miss the Olympics. We wish her a speedy recovery and send all our love and support. Get well soon, Hali!💪❤️ #fcrosengård 1 Share

Deltamani: This is heartbreaking 💔 I hope isn’t another ACL., I was literally anticipating for Ayinde Vs Aitana battle in midfield 😭

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 2:16pm |
Who replaces her now? Cause among the alternatives we don’t have any Defensive Midfielder in there, I believe the window for changes is still open…! Randy need to get a Defensive Midfielder not bringing in any of the alternatives, Abiodun and Ucheibe can’t do the job alone, they need supports.. Regina Otu??
|
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 2:56pm |
Deltamani: This is just sad. The concerning roster takes another big hit. Why was Halimatu still training with her club though? Haven't their season ended? We don't have the luxury of options. Outside Regina Otu I don't think there's anybody else. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by ekehopp2: 3:00pm |
Deltamani:I'm not sure he's allowed to do so. Jumoke Alani should replace her from the alternate list. But if he brings someone else, then Rofiat Imuran, Akudo Ogbonna or Shukurat Oladipo (FC Robo Queens' defender) are the likely other options based on his most recent selections. I think Regina Otu played under stand in coach Justin Madugu, I'm not sure Randy has used her since the WorldCup. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 3:01pm |
lovewins: She still have a League game to play this weekend before reporting to camp for the Olympics.. Among the options available Regina Otu is the best.. Again will Randy go outside his 4 alternatives to pick a DM? |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 3:03pm |
ekehopp2: We already have options there, Ucheibe and Abiodun are the remaining Defensive Midfielders in the whole list of 18 and Alternative players with Ayinde out now.. Getting a DM is the best Option.. Not bringing in another Attacker or even a Defender..! |

timay1: I don taya to dey see Canada ![]() Deltamani: No problem. Just annoying that we no see better new rival to prepare. Nothing new to derive from Canada. I no go shock if we still no beat them now that Ayinde is out. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 5:12pm |
I listened to One of Randy Podcasts this afternoon where he talked about the Pitts Program, Preparation For the Olympics and getting a Video Assistant Coach to join them for the Olympics.. He also talked about how difficult it’s for them to Keep Deborah Abiodun right now as her agent have been dropping good good offers for her from several top Clubs…, But he said Deborah mind now is getting a Degree that those Clubs have to Wait for her..!
|
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by carbonado(m): 5:33pm |
Deltamani:....Good to know that Deborah is already getting good offers, the good thing is N.I.L deals will make it easy for her to get her degree once and for all before going pro. How many more years does she have left to complete her degree program? 2 Likes |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 5:55pm |
carbonado: NIL isn't necessarily lucrative for all athletes though. Debbie not also being American and not having the necessary star power to leverage on ours her at a disadvantage to land personal deals. If she's patient however, she should get enough to see her through her college program. On how long she had left? She got announced last year so it really does depend on her. If she takes summer classes then she can finish her program in 3 years. That's what Kiki Iriafen that enabled her finish her engineering program in 3 years with Stanford. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 5:56pm |
Deltamani: Can't imagine the kind of pressure she had to deal with. I however love that she's taking her education seriously. Take summer classes so you can speed it up. Get that degree then go pro. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 6:07pm |
With this Ayinde Injury now, replacement brouhaha. I for just say bring in Rinsola. But it is what it is. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 6:48pm |
daveP: That would be a wrong idea man… A like for like replacement is better, Ucheibe and Abiodun can’t do the job alone, what if one of them gets a knock or Carded, they need someone as back up Remember Randy Waldrum always play with a Double Pivot in Midfield, 1 more Defensive, while the other Covers more ground Box-2-Box.. I will go with REGINA OTU she fits in perfectly as that Combative Midfielder..

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 6:53pm |
Deltamani: There’s still room for changes as not all team have named their final Roster, France, Colombia etc haven’t named their Squad.. |
