Canada wins a very interesting shootout, 4-3 after six kicks. Truthfully, some of the Venezuelan kickers were not smart at all. I predicted where the Canadian keeper would dive 5 out of 6 times. The keeper was showing his hand almost every time, and especially on that last kick. He literally shuffled his feet in a certain direction before diving, and the mumu Venezuelan still played the ball in that same direction.

My two teams, France and Canada made it to the Semis today.

Canada are dangerous, as shown when they played Argentina in the tournament opener. La Albiceleste better not repeat the rubbish they did against Ecuador, lest they get shocked or even embarrassed.

To be honest, the Canadians’ transition from midfield to attack is up there with the top 5 teams in the world.

Their only Achilles hill is the finishing and questionable decision-making in the final third. If Coach Jesse Marsch can work on those lapses with his team, they could squeak past Argentina.

But even if they lose on Tuesday, the Canadians have already made their country proud, and would surely be a force to reckon with at the WC in 2 years time.
