Why Do We Pray by RealityKings: 8:04pm On Jul 07
This morning around 5am, I decided to go to church. When it was morning proper I was so determined. I went and had my bath and dressed up and this unusual rush was in me.

On my way, I saw alot of people heading to church. Some on foot, some on bike, taxi or private cars. Obviously, life is beautiful regardless how difficult it may seem. Seeing alot of people with our eyes gives hope.

But one thing that bothers me and I kept thinking about is, "why do we pray"? or "why do we have to pray"?
My question or thought may seem simple but then it's an innocent thought after all.

For the past 100 years before I was born, people from all kinds of religion have been praying. And here I am now in 2024, in this age and time, I am praying.
It appears we are all saying the same prayers over and over again.
Our prayers revolves round just 1 factor, "needs" and "solving a problems"...

Is it that God doesn't know what the problems or needs will be before creating this system?
Why do we need to pray? Even when these prayers are not answered. I'm just thinking,

You keep saying a prayer and working towards it and nothing happens. You start to see yourself as a nuisance keeping others awake through the night undecided
Your neighbor will even tease you in the morning with "Oga prayer worrior afadura jagun".

Lol, we pray because we have been brainwashed by smart prophets or imam to do so, and in return we offer them our money. simple.

According to Jesus of Nazareth when you pray and others who aren't involved are disturbed then you've gotten the reward {Matthew 6:5} note when a neighbor say to you:

"Oga prayer warrior afadura jagun"

Jesus said you never prayed to his father and God rather you prayed to catch the attention of others around you and you've gotten what you wanted from them so expect nothing from God! undecided

Do you know we pray more times away from religious houses? We pray when we are alone and even when we are taking a walk or working. So it's not about those prophets

I'm just getting this troubling headache.
Can't stop thinking

You pray because you are powerless and want the gods to do for you what you can not do for yourself.

People who can do don't waste time bothering the gods. They get off their asses and use their god given knowledge and understanding to do and get what they want.

Why do most of you hate the truth like this?
You're gradually becoming an atheist and someone offered to help you see where the error is and all you could say is the faithful one is quoting the scriptures upside down so are you the one quoting it upright?

Well with the below it's obvious you UNDERSTOOD the scriptures and you are reading it properly.

People pray because it gives them some kind of comfort...or assurance.

Well, prayer is like begging.

I don't pray....

I decree(Gor ofor) and it is established.

I don't add "through christ" or in Jesus name" it spoils it.

I go to my creator directly just like he asked.
"DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER GOD BEFORE ME" Exodus 20:5.
That means no intermediary or middle man

If you want your prayers answered never mention the name Jesus....try it in one week and thank me later, go directly to your creator.....
