Lagos was the former capital of Nigeria for more than 30 years, all oil Nigeria money was invested invested in Lagos to make a befitting capital. Calabar was just a capital for few years before almagamation of Nigeria. That is what gave Lagos a lead as most developed state, the same way Abuja is been built with Nigeria wealth.

The bridge in question is located in Opebi-Mende. Now tell me, was Opebi ever part of Federal Capital Territory at any point in Nigeria’s history?

Travel and see for yourself local man. At least in all these states you're mentioning, you can sleep with your doors and windows wide open. If Lagos is a slum, I wander what that will make Anambra and Abia state grin

Lagos was the former capital for 30years, yes.

Was Lagos built to the standard of befitting capital like Washington DC, Pretoria, Cairo, Ottawa, as at when the capital was moved to Abuja in 1991?

Let the conversation start from there.

In 1991 when the capital was taken from Lagos, was Lagos looking like Dubai?

Stop comparing a recovering region with regions that surpassed centuries of investments without wars or attacks.

Anambra and Abia State started in 1970 after the war. There was no road, infrastructure or amenities that survived the war. The Arab pilots were ordered to bomb everything that was standing or would likely be used to hide from the sky.

NB: Apologies for quoting you. I don't expect a civil and courteous response.

The only place that has a government in Nigeria.

The only place that has law and order in Nigeria.

The only place where you will see development every 6 months in Nigeria.

It's best a city is planned from the beginning and the master plan adhered to. It will save cost in the long run.

With all the master why is flood submerging properties in Lagos?

Lagos was a former capital territory.

People keep saying Lagos was capital city, every zone was massively developed under regional government so where and how are the States development now. but Lagos not the first and last capital city. If Lagos have poor governments like some other states with no visionary leaders you will not remember it was a former capital state.

Take it or not, Lagos is the only progressive state with master plan. What I love most was the way Ambode was taken out by Lagosians for attempting to derailed the progressive system.

Any state that jumps state governors with different party can not move forward because of different party ideology leading to abandoned projects.

Are you out of your mind ? Or am I missing something here ? 🤷‍♂️
We have a lot of ignorant folks here. NYC has a bigger economy than Nigeria itself. I'm sure she's a supporter of one Peter Obi.

What you fail to realize is Lagos is already competing with New York and Dubai depending on where you are staying or exposed to in Lagos. You also need to realize there are slums/ghettos in New York as well.

Great. This will decongest the traffic at Mobolaji Bank Anthony (Just a bit during peak hours) and Maryland junction.

Even though this is a laudable project, it also meant that more traffic would be directed to Ikeja from the express.
It will put more pressure on Opebi going to Allen Avenue, linking Awolowo road and also have more traffic jam effect on Kudirat Abiola back to Awolowo road.

The pressure could be a little bit minimized if Aromire street/ the full stretch of Adeniyi Jones could be extended.... That would be an herculean task. Those streets are too narrow for the number of hourly vehicular movements being experienced on daily basis.

I don't know why some of you choose to remain comprehensively stupid or intentionally mischievous. Calabar was NEVER 'federal' capital of Nigeria as we know it.

Calabar was merely the administrative capital of SOUTHERN NIGERIA for only six years (1900 –1906), until the British colonists moved the administrative headquarters to Lagos in 1906 just before the amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria, and Lagos has remained capital ever since!

In the present context, do you know how retaarded and annoying you typically clever by half Yoruba elements sound by retorting that yen yen yen, Calabar was also former capital city of Nigeria? I just can no longer tolerate you nuisances.
lol nuisance I think yoU should do your reading again or show us how calabar was administrative capital of southern Nigeria Stop being dumb oga and do your research well

There's a wise word there that says "Stop comparing Apples with Oranges"

When people use ratios and comparisons in science and mathematics, the objects do have elements of commonality. Dates of creation; features like topography, federal presence, administrative headquarters etc.

Secondly, read the comment you quoted before responding.
