I'm looking at the surrounding area and the roadway... why is it elevated? It is not an urban area with the highway cutting across busy streets and smaller roadways. Flyover mentality still in effect.
Firstly the area you're seeing was filled cos it's a swampy area boss.
Secondly, this bridge needs to be connected to another bridge again on Lagos ikorodu expressway which is one of the reasons why it was elevated.

You asking the importance of Dodan barracks to the development of Lagos shows you don’t even know where the seat of power was in Nigeria. Where the affairs of every part of the country was discussed . It was from there that the federal resources trickled down to other states. It just like asking what is the relevance of Aso Rock to development of Abuja.

Oga, you have 0 point... Dodan barracks is there in Obalende, pls you can carry it to your state, na stress dem dey cause for people for Lagos... We don't need several barracks.

Lagos WAS a former capital territory. Does that stop other states from achieving greatness or surpassing? Myopic and stagnant POV

Only rail can cure the Lagos Traffic problem

The importance of flyovers in mitigating traffic congestion cannot be underestimated

Traffic 🚦 mostly begins from road intersections
Flyovers will drastically mitigate this ✌🏼

Well, you may be hurt with that statement because you are Yoruba but there's an element of truth in it.

So I'm automatically Yoruba because I said the truth?

Are you people trying to say that there are no areas that get flooded in the south east when it rains consistently for several hours?

Next time it rains heavily in the south east go to Obinagu area in Awka, Anambra State or Awkunanaw in Enugu City then come back and tell us your experience undecided

If only Lagos can utilize all the resources at its disposal, it will be competing with New York and Dubai. But it is a glorified slum.

2024 Budget for New York State - $237 billion
2024 Budget for Dubai - $67 billion
2024 Budget for Nigeria - $18 billion
2024 Budget for Lagos - $1.78 billion

Nice development. Kudos to the Babajide Sanwo-olu administration for this project. However, it's worrisome that most states and federal government bridges' projects lack a dedicated pedestrian lane; it's possible this particular bridge may yet have one eventually but considering the width on both lanes of the bridge, I don't see how a pedestrian walkway will be carved out of it.

Ewedu gulping illiterate. Tell us when exactly Calabar was ever "capital of Nigeria", and while at it, tell us when the entity currently known as Nigeria came into existence.

Lagos was the former capital of Nigeria for more than 30 years, all oil Nigeria money was invested invested in Lagos to make a befitting capital. Calabar was just a capital for few years before almagamation of Nigeria. That is what gave Lagos a lead as most developed state, the same way Abuja is been built with Nigeria wealth.

SINCE Abuja is being built for more than thirty years with the same OIL MONEY, why is it still having problems leaving Lagos behind? Now, let's see where you shift the goalpost to this time.

donbuchi1:
This bridge should be made to link 3rd mainland bridge

OF course it links OJOTA axis of IKORODU ROAD from where you either go on to KETU, MILE 12 and IKORODU or detour at the OJOTA interchange to navigate towards OGUDU enroute 3rd Mainland Bridge. You can also use the OJOTA interchange to navigate towards OJODU enroute ALAUSA, MAGODO ESTATE and LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY. That bridge will create s lot of options for people plying the OPEBI and/or IKORODU ROAD axis, and reduce travel time considerably.
