Nigeria's wildlife management is too archaic and crude. They need to go to East and Southern Africa and see how zoos, wildlife and game reserve are managed. This is what is attracting tourists, making the countries to earn huge foreign exchange from tourists. See how the Hyena is looking malnourished, meaning, it has not been feeding well.

They are not good hunters because they don't really have speed like most other wild animals, so they scavenge more than hunting...
More than 70% of the food of hyenas are from prey they hunted and brought down

Very sure. They always bring it to lagos self, from the north alive They'd be moving it around in public places and people will be giving those boys money as they parade the hyena but with a leach on its neck. Tick whitish saliva will be drawing down its mouth, very wild and dangerous

grin cheesy grin they should use the money for the tracking device to feed the animals first
axglide:
Great.

Thank God.

I was born in Jos so I know the wildlife park very well. It’s a state asset.

Advice to Jos Wildlife park, next time have a tracking device around all animals necks. The people of low cost will have been living in fear for the past 24hours

If drones can be used to track a hyena that escaped from a zoo,why can't the same technology be used to track terrorists and bandits?

Educate yourself..
Hyenas have a large heart to body ratio..
They can maintain a steady speed over a very long period effectively wearing out faster prey they are chasing.
The only other pack animals that hunt his way are wild dogs which have 75% effective kill ratio.

With the hyena out there, it's the hyena that was in danger...😎
Re: Missing Hyena Captured, Returned To Plateau Wildlife Park by RedAlert08(m): 1:32am On Jul 10
No consequences. Nobody shall be sanctioned, neither would any resign. They'd just move on like nothing happened. Because for God's sake, it was somebody's responsibility to cater for the hyena. The wild animal escaped because somebody failed to do his or her job.

If there had been casualties as a result of this incident, we'd begin to curse and scream and yell.

Until adequate punishments are meted out for dereliction of duty, we will NEVER get the best from ourselves.
