Gerrard59: Maybe she went the marriage route for her papers na Just looked at her profile. Nothing spectacular. Columbia is good but not in the league of Harvard, Stanford, Wharton. Also, Goldman pass Goldman o. If you are not in Goldman Sachs Investment Banking, you are not elite. She is in GS Asset Management which isn’t exactly top tier… |

folake4u:You would have corrected it explicitly. The initial argument in that thread was that there's nothing like "Bachelors of Law", whereby that's the full meaning of LLB. You're the person that wrote Bsc in Law....lol. always follow the initials of an argument before jumping in |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by Wotowotoman: 9:26am On Jul 10 |
Hannania: The original poster actually said Bsc in Law…. |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by seunjungle1(m): 9:30am On Jul 10 |
And you expect him too to also act like a fool? No reasonable human being will act like the way poster did. It is even better off when a person you helped post such a message not you that helped, because Holy books made us to understand that the writer had already taken his glory by doing what he just did. Hannania: I NEVER said there's nothing like Bachelor of Laws. I only had an issue with the abbreviation used which is "Bsc" and I corrected saying the appropriate one is LLB. And This is what Tensa said This is just one example. Bsc in law and was doing an MBA from Colombia but got her green card months before graduation. Lol. You're the one who needs to see clearly before jumping in next time.

Wotowotoman: Is she married? As it is, her residency status is superior to other immigrants slugging it with H1B. Just looked at her profile. Nothing spectacular. Columbia is good but not in the league of Harvard, Stanford, Wharton. This is belittling her efforts. CBS is a good school and part of the M7 (https://www.businessbecause.com/news/mba-degree/7514/m7-business-schools#:~:text=The%20M7%20business%20schools%20are%3A%20Harvard%20Business%20School%2C%20Stanford%20Graduate,Chicago%20Booth%2C%20and%20MIT%20Sloan.). She has done well for herself and those who look up to her. She even won prizes abi awards from professor. As for GS, people start from somewhere. She can always pivot to somewhere bigger and more prestigious. Makispoke started with EY and now works with a PE/hedge fund. Na small small. A house is built from the ground, not the roof. |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by Wotowotoman: 1:25pm On Jul 10 |
Gerrard59: Please don’t get my point wrong o. She has definitely done well but what she has done is not exceptional or out of this world. One thing people should understand, as a black woman (better if African), you can get into any top business school with decent GMAT scores and semi-decent work experience. Same applies for jobs in yankee. Business schools are trying to diversify their student profiles and it translates to opportunities for our women. That’s why I always tell my Nigerian women to work hard to grab these opportunities… |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by Gerrard59(m): 2:10pm On Jul 10 |
Wotowotoman: Using your metrics, how would you describe an exceptional black African woman in the context of B-school? I get the remainder of your comment. Any above-average black African woman has so much opportunities to excel. Even for we black African men, but more so for our women. |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by Gerrard59(m): 2:15pm On Jul 10 |
Gerrard59: As I have repeatedly stated on Nairaland, ALL Nigerian elites have a second passport. Those who don't have it are in the process. Don't allow any of them to deceive you with faux patriotism. A patriotic Nigerian is an oxymoron. Do as they do, not as they say. |

FSU: Stupid talk ,we see on internet everyday how some Igbos are saying they won't employ Emilokans ,recently we saw how Igbo people didn't attack Serah or E money for using police to arrest people that slander them but they're attacking people like Toyin Abraham for using police to stress her bully . |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by Wotowotoman: 5:17pm On Jul 10 |
Gerrard59: As per the second paragraph, of course it used to be easier for black men (especially Africans) but what you will notice is that these spots have become very competitive due to the advancement in technology. As the internet became available to all, Africans woke up and started applying for these limited spots. These days, you have to be exceptional as a black man to get the spots available to blacks. However, black women are still underrepresented in the top business schools, Wall Street and other top global firms. As a black woman, you only have to be semi decent to grab these spots… |

Gerrard59: Alhaji Dangote says he has just one passport..the Naija passport. |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by Wotowotoman: 5:26pm On Jul 10 |
Gerrard59: On paragraph one, an exceptional black woman in the context of B School is one that can score at least a 750 in the GMAT, graduated with a first class if from Naija (or Summa Cum Laude if from Yankee school), worked in Goldman Sachs IBD or McKinsey/Bain/BCG/Google/Apple etc. out of university and maybe played sports or started a business in college (bonus points). I mean this is what it takes to be an exceptional candidate (male of female) for HBS, Stanford and probably Wharton for Finance oriented candidates. However, for black women you don’t necessarily have to be this exceptional, especially coming from Africa. As I mentioned before, just be decent and you have a good shot at it…with scholarship sef. |

T8ksy:Na follow come things. The number of igbos working in sw civil service runs into tens of thousands but I'm yet to see a yorubaman brag about "how yorubas help igbos". How many abians are allowed in anambra state civil service, talkless of yorubas/hausas. The average southeastrrner will just wake up and ask himself: "how can I look for trouble today" even when no one provoked him. It's only God himself that can deliver the from bigotry. 1 Like |

Brenbentondiaz: You must be deluded. No person voted for Obi based on his tribe. He is by far the best candidate in that election. Tinubu was a certificate forger, a drug trafficker, a sickly old man and an incompetent MOFO. Only jaundiced awalokan tribalists and religious zealots voted for him. You certainly fit those descriptions. 3 Likes |

Wotowotoman: We have had such types of women. Here is one: https://www.linkedin.com/in/solabright/ Here was her story: https://thirdworldtoivyleague..com/2015/10/3-ways-living-in-lagos-affected-my-gmat.html She was one of the first Nigerian schooled employees at McKinsey Nigeria. Of late, Oxford Said School of Business has admitted a lot of African women. Expectedly, Nigerian women dominate the list. But I must that Said is ranked lower than London Business School and INSEAD (plenty of African women have attended this school). I recall Kemi Onabanjo of McKinsey was pained that she got denied Singapore visa to study at the campus there even with full funding and a job offer in Lagos. I mean this is what it takes to be an exceptional candidate (male of female) for HBS, Stanford and probably Wharton for Finance oriented candidates. I get to see more of our men attend Wharton than our women. However, for black women you don’t necessarily have to be this exceptional, especially coming from Africa. As I mentioned before, just be decent and you have a good shot at it…with scholarship sef. This is accurate. It is a woman's world these days. Wotowotoman: Yes. It is now tough, but we still have it easier than Indian males. |

Sulele04: 😂😂😂 Yes, he was my senior. I was just 2 classes from him. Loool. He's ALWAYS been that way, even in University. He made First Class in Uni, First Class in Law School and bagged so many prizes in Law School. But he's an all rounder though. He was good with books, sports and also had a girlfriend then so the equation was balanced. |

folake4u:Next time you see an argument, try to see the initials of the thread. I gave you a screenshot of what transpired initially of which Tenza was reacting to what the guy said "WTF is bachelors of Law". You jumped into the argument without knowing where the basics was..... |
Re: I Helped An Awalokan With His Green Card Application. by folake4u(f): 9:29am On Jul 11 |
Hannania: Bros, I wasn't talking to you before. I ONLY corrected the notion of Tenza writing the abbreviation "Bsc in Law". There's nothing like Bsc in Law. It is LLB. Bsc- Bachelor of Science. Is that so hard for you to understand? The person who I told has noted the correction and moved on but you're still trying to prove your non existent point. Go and say Bsc in Law outside na. You should read this article where a Law graduate from NOUN was giving a testimony and she said Bsc in Law but was corrected by the Pastor that there's nothing like Bsc in Law. For your reading pleasure: https://fij.ng/article/fact-check-testifier-called-liar-by-dunamis-pastor-is-truly-a-noun-law-graduate/

Is it the people that flew into the country to vote tinibu, the ones causing and bullying Igbos just because, Igbos said that tinibu will not deliver? |
