post=130890572:INEC must start conducting free and fair elections from the local government. There should be a ban on politicians that uses violence to win Election. It must be free and fair and that is the only way the people can enjoy development |

I’m very much in support of local government autonomy. Governance should be localised from the grassroots, way up. LG autonomy incoming. Electricity amendment bill signed, so states and local government can generate their electricity Next incoming should be state policing! Federal police should be converted to an agency, like the FBI in USA. They will rein in on the excesses of state police’ abuse of power, act as linchpin between states, and protect Nigeria from organised crime. |

I'm predicting a win for the governors. The FG intentions are good but the constitution is clear on the matter. It needs to be amended. Any APC governor against it will have to be ousted in the primary. 1 Like |

Re: Supreme Court To Deliver Judgment On LG Autonomy Suit Thursday by millionaireman: 5:48pm On Jul 10 |
Curtail the influence of state governors please. The governors use local government funds to build vainglory structures in the state capital; while rest of the state recede to preindependence level of development. 1 Like |

For me local government are the closest to the people....if possible a system that can declare amount released for each local government so that we will be well informed of the people doing us....and are from our selves. Let there be check and balance!. For me I predict adjournment. Mayb till I live this world. I love Nigeria let accept each other please we are one.. God bless Nigeria #igbo #yoruba# hausa |

That the constitution of Nigeria recognizes federal, states and local governments as three tiers of government and that the three recognized tiers of government draw funds for their operation and functioning from the federation account created by the constitution,” the originating summons reads.... The above text summarises the court judgement tomorow. Except the supreme court will produce another magic. Nigerian governors are just too greedy and selfish...Attimes i wonder if they go there to serve or want to be worship. 1 Like |

Supreme Court, it's all in your hands now!!! Free our local communities across every inch of Nigeria from modern day colonization by state governors. |
Re: Supreme Court To Deliver Judgment On LG Autonomy Suit Thursday by Shikena(m): 6:33pm On Jul 10 |
True but we have seen both sides in practical reality. Our communities fared way better when we had functional local governments. Today, some governors are trying but they barely scratch the surface and majority of all they could do is around the state capital and a few major cities in their states. Local governments were not perfect but inner communities were able to feel the presence of government without turning to beggars at the state secretariats. Ojuntana: |

If thr judgement goes the way of the federal government, local government chairman will join the looting spree. Before now states governments have caged them but this judgement may as well give them great access to steal and reduce how much the governors have been stealing. Nigeria I hail thee. |

RhinoChest:All of you supporting this move by the federal government are working for the evil Islamic cartel who has taken over this country backed by the Democrats and Nato. . This move will no doubt, reduce the powers of state governors but transfer all powers to the federal GOVERNMENT when in effect . Ministry of Livestock development that has recently been created is also part of the plan. The idea is to penetrate and infiltrate every local government in the country through that ministry. And this would be easy through a government - controlled LGA chairman or police. But I have this very strong belief that this plan will scatter at the last minute. It doesn't matter how long it has been in place. God has the final say and I also believe he has a different and better plan for his people. APC will lose power some day in Nigeria and just like other previous cartels, you guys will vanish. SHALOM! |

Goodvibes007: Yes you are very correct. Politics at the local will be much interesting with all attention. A popular and hard working candidates will surely wins and local will be busy with projects. Surely money will reach everywhere. FG must win this case by tomorrow and no appeal from governors. |

Re: Supreme Court To Deliver Judgment On LG Autonomy Suit Thursday by phemray(m): 9:32pm On Jul 10 |
kingbee90: Oga, LG autonomy will create competition among LG in terms of projects to make names so as to go for Reps or Senate. Presidency, governors, senators and reps will be lesser on attention. Only the LG. Ok imagine every LG constructed local roads in the streets up to 200km, shops, markets, borehole, primary health centers etc in 4 years, with carpenters, bricklayer, artisans business being busy, who will remember a governor or senator? Every security is Local. APC will rule for Longer years because Tinubu knows local politics so much. |
Re: Supreme Court To Deliver Judgment On LG Autonomy Suit Thursday by ALTERNATEID: 9:38pm On Jul 10 |

They need to be orientated though especially from the previous mindset of Govo give me money make I chop without doing nothing in their LGAs...LGA Chairmen should know that they'll be held accountable for the dev't of their LGAs and will face the full extent of the law if found wanting...
