I stay at ajah and our water is like this too. When I came to Lagos last year I was frustrated until I had a solution. I bought this medium drum as I stay alone. I fill it up, stir it in a circular motion and pour in some quantity of alum,every dirt settles at the bottom within 2 hours and I use it for everything. Lagos is stressful sha

i think the water thing is a general phenomenon on the island because during my stay at yaba, i had very clean water. i am experiencing the same thing as the OP currently and i am fed up honestly. i have to use pure water to cook plenty times, i have to pour dettol in my bathing water because of my skin reacting to it, and for washing i can not escape it lai lai, my husband even paid for the tank to be rewashed but nothing changed. i am guessing it is only the water Filtration thing that can be done to curb the situation.

sometimes I think Lekki is over rated .bad water and poor drainage system.If not for the fine houses there and the it proximity to the island, I really don’t know why people should over hype it and ready to pay through their teeth just to stay there.

I've just moved to the island and started experiencing this skin reaction. My upper arm is pealing and has inflammation in some parts, and my face is bringing out Eczema. This is something I've never experienced before. Does Dettol work?
The house I live in has a filtration system and the water is transparent; Just that it's not that clean, because if you leave it for some days in a white bucket, the body starts turning brown. Also, the water has this metallic feel, That's the best I can describe it.

Apologies for the late response, I often don't come on naira land as before. Original Dettol will work or izzal inside your bathing water.

Then find someone to wash the tank clean. Island water is actually very bad, it dealt with me and we had to move out.

That's unfortunate. We use the water here for cooking and washing. While it appears clear, it's evident it contains impurities due to its metallic taste, feel and occasional odour. Clean water is non-negotiable to me, and I would have also left. I plan to leave this island too. Also, the mosquitoes and overall conditions are not ideal.
