no small chop was still served at the event. Check the picture below, the lady with small white bowl at the right of the picture. The puff puff was just additional small chops just to stun the guest. In Owambe, the host often tries to spice up the party and give the guest something to remember.

You can even see a wine bottle on the table in front of the man with blue cap. It's absurd to think a rice or Amala which are even cheaper than wine won't be served. Even people that can't afford a hall dey serve food let alone those that can afford one like in the party of this thread.

Back in the days, they served same （although well garnished with orisirisi and were always a lot bigger, even bigger than what you got at the vendors） at big parties as appetizer. In some cases, it could be gizzard, fried plantains prepared with assortments of pepper, diced liver and prawn or even a well garnished and big pieces of akara.
Those days, there were no mobile phones so they did these things to get you engaged most time pending the time the programmes get to the ENTERTAINMENT-MENU.
