Of course. Not all, 80%.
You have a better chance of winning the jackpot than of saving your marriage.

No you dont. Chances of winning the jackpot is a very low statistical probability. Marriage is not do or die in my opinion and if not working option of a divorce will always be on the table and a divorce is not necessarily a bad thing per se.

grin grin grin I'm genuinely asking because I'm in the stage of my life where I've been with the same person for a while now and the next stage is marriage but the thought of the monotony scares me to death

You are a woman?

Nope. I am a man and have previously advised couples about conflict resolution techniques. I have also, asked a lot of women to leave their marriages and get out in the past.

If a woman overstresses me for marriage, I abandon the marriage sharparly, life is too short not to enjoy.

grin grin I dated that nigga before I left the dating scene (years back)...but I'm still traumatised by the experience grin.

We worked in the same community (different office parks)...but he lived in a complex that was a 5 minute walk from my workplace. So at lunchtime the demonic man would come and pick me up at my workplace to his place grin grin....and No , it wasn't because he wanted to feed me grin grin grin...atleast it's not food he wanted to feed me with grin grin. I'd come back from lunch hungry, tired and confused grin. And that wasn't...he joined the gym in my community which was on the other side of town , so almost every morning he came there so that after gym we go to my place together for a *shower * grin. In the evening afterwork we'd go to his place to *study*( we were both doing the same course and working in the same industry). When I got home I just wanted to go straight to bed and sleep it off grin grin...and mind you I had to wake up early to do the real studying before he came for the morning session grin grin. I was like a s**slave with freedom of movement grin grin. I used to pray that he dumps me grin grin grin grin.

Marriage(monotony)can be scary at first , but you'll get settled into it. But just don't get comfortable when it gets to the *routine phase*...and it does get there wink. And make sure you're friends (very good friends ). ...it lessons the wahala interms of finances , leisure time and family ideals.

Don't forget to stop looking grin grin grin or atleast wear mazaza if you're looking grin grin...mzantsi is a demonic place....to much temptation especially if you're weak grin
I am weak grin grin

Never give birth the next two years after marriage to organize your finances and ensure both of you have your careers in place.

Ignore pressures from parents and friends about pregnancies and kids, no big deal, you will have kids eventually.

When you are ready, only have one child.

If you are doing well financially, you can add the second child with at least 5 years gap in between otherwise, I would stick to one child only if possible.

If you follow my advice, you will thank me 10years from now. I see the future very clearly.

I like your advice about waiting to create a nest egg before having kids. But I wouldn't support having only one child.

Kids need siblings for healthy, all-round development. As an adult, you won't always have time for your kids; they can't play with you or talk "child" things with you.

Children need to fight among each other to learn conflict resolution, individuality, and standing up for themselves

That's what siblings are meant for.

Also, as a child gets older, a lot of your hope and expectations (from both parents) would be transfered to that child. Might prove too much for one child to bear.

You see parents with undue attachment to their kids? Lots of the time, it's cos it's just the one.

Not that anyone is praying to lose their child but parents with just one child would have higher anxiety compared to other parents whenever their child is traveling (especially as the child gets to their late teens), because anything that would lead to the death of that child, that's the end of the bloodline. It's too late to raise another one.

Besides, when you finally leave this world, who would your child be close to? Cousins?

There's a bond between siblings — I see it in my mother's family — it transcends generations.

That's the power of having brothers and sisters

I'll suggest to have at least two kids. For the sake of balance.

This is 100% NOT CORRECT. Children are not a retirement fund for the parents and not their duty to bear the parent's burdens especially financial wise. The parents have more than 5 decades of work and should have planned, saved, and invested for their retirements. That is the way it should be but we have got it upside down in our society.
The parents are careless, squandering away their resources and expecting the young children to suffer unnecessarily. This has to change.

Also, I have seen lots of healthy, well-rounded one child in society. A child can fight with friends in school and there is nothing wrong with having one child to avoid unnecessary burdens and the ability to give the best to the child.
