I'm thrilled to share that the long-standing visa denial curse has finally been broken! Today is PPR day!

**Application Timeline:**
- **Applied:** December 15, 2023
- **Biometric:** December 21, 2023
- **Passport Request:** July 9, 2024

This is my first time applying to Canada, intending to visit my younger brother. Despite previous visa refusals 2 for the USA, 4 for the UK, and 2 for France), I managed to do the visitor visa application myself, and with God's grace, it was perfected.

**Documents Submitted:**
- Brother’s Canada passport page
- Invitation letter from my brother
- Proof of his address
- His paystub (last 3 months)
- His utility bills
- Sponsorship letter (he will cover my return flight and entertainment costs)
- His 1-month bank statement
- My leave letter
- Proof of employment
- my 3-month pay slip
- 3-month bank statement
- Stanbic pension statement
- Money market savings statement
- Land documents
- Marriage certificate
- Photos of my brother and me from our last vacation to Denmark and Switzerland
- Photos of my husband and me from our vacation to Dubai
- Consent letter from my husband stating I will return after visiting my brother.
Letter of explanation detailing my previous visa application denial and how my circumstances has changed (got married , brought a house , got promoted )

Wishing you all the best of luck

Very likely your marriage certificate did more of the magic. As a single applicant, you may have stood less chance, regardless of those other impressive documents. COngratulations!
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Jeboy(m): 10:23pm On Jul 09
I don't think so. Visa officers are very careful of denying families of Canadian citizens or PR holders especially where they meet the minimum requirements.

Your submission may have been correct if the brother is just a temporary resident that is working or schooling.

Yes, that’s the truth.

They hardly deny applicants whose relatives are Canadian PR or Citizens.

My brother applied and he was granted with no travel history!

That is it bro, once you can hit that milestone of attaining PR or Citizenship bringing your family members to Canada becomes easier if you are working and have proof of financial capacity. They also trust Canadian PR and Citizen holders will not involve in anything that will tarnish there credibility.

God no go shame our hustle.

Please confirm if this submission of new passport alongside the old one was successful. Was the visa issued to the expiration of the new passport?

What type of conference did you applied for?
How does it relate to your current job/business

Cana003:
Greetings everyone, Please I need people's opinion on this: I applied for a Conference Visa in January 2024 and today I was denied based on this ''I am not satisfied that you have a legitimate business purpose in Canada.'' That is the only comment the VO dropped. The conference was on the 15th of June 2024. I want to know if I should re-apply for a tourist visa instead of the conference. I am self-employed of which I submitted everything about my business, banks, and family.

First, the testimony to encourage others

My wife andI recently received PPR and BVL for our Visitor Visas
Submission: Jan 21, 2024
Biometrics: Jan 24,2024
PPR& BVL: June 21, 2024

Then, my issue is similar to the solution prescribed.
My passport renewal was just completed a few days ago. Can I still use the webform to upload the new passport AFTER PPR has already been received. Do I then proceed to submit both passports by courier considering they may not even see the webform in days?

frankiez33:

Your friend should send a scanned copy of the new passport to IRCC through webform. He or she can do it twice. After that he can send his the new passport to Vfs Lagos (where ever he or she did biometric) through UPS (DHL no longer accept a two way courier). He or she can pay for two way courier.

Passport Submission Information.

For Lagos Office:

Walk into any DHL or UPS store; you can google & check for the one's near you.

This is the address you will mail your documents to:

Canada Visa Application Centre

-Note the 990 SMS fee is compulsory. Pay it as well to the same account.

The VFS consent form is available at https://www./vfsconsentform.

Put everything in a Big Brown Envelope,

Write your FULL NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NO. & Email Address on the Envelope boldly

You may indicate you want a two-way courier service when you go to DHL. Then provide them with the address you want your passport sent to when ready.

For Abuja Office:

Sorry to hear about your denial. Your profile actually looks very solid, but it looks like denials are on the increase now. The sad truth is that a lot of Nigerians who have gone before you have destroyed the trust the visa officers once had. I'm fairly sure some people with the exact same profile as yours (if not better) also failed to return after receiving their visitor visas.
thanks chief, it is that bad

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by angie88: 10:40am On Jul 11
If u have the email used for the registration, u must have been receiving correspondence/update from ircc concerning ur application.
There's room for change of password. So long u have ur application number and ur UCI number, u can change ur password
