How?

Ruto was seeking to raise a paltry 346 B from the finance bill. However, the country loses about 1 trillion to corruption in a year. What should be the priority? Collecting 346 b or stopping 1 trillion from being stolen?
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Obiano13: 12:57pm On Jul 12
Africans will never accept that they have a corruption problem because they believe nothing can be done about it. The only solution is to force govts to do something about it, and this goes beyond bare words. Make the lives of politicians hell till they either do something significant or if they cant vacate office and let people who can do something about it get to work!

Ofcourse!! its Friday. On the stroke of midnight Kenyans in NIGHT clubs across the country will stand up to a deafening crescendo of the national anthem followed by RutoMustGo as they urge the greatest looter to ever exist to ''Anguka Nayo'' (Fall with the Finance Bill). Ruto either has to fix corruption or fall with the finance bill. The choices are clear as day. Everyone knows he cant because he is the definition of corruption itself so he has to go. The cabinet is down. Some of these guys were implicated in vile corruption scandals yet openly sworn they would rather die than resign! The balls. The minister for roads and transport was caught smack in the middle of the final stages of leasing JKIA for 30 years to a shadowy Indian firm to the knowledge of no one and had received kick backs. He was arrested in Dubai with the money as he attempted to buy properties. Ruto, the high priest of corruption, intervened for his release. Birds of a feather.! Auctioning the country for 30 pcs of silver. Africans have a serious mental problem.

Hello to all Nairalanders. I’m back but not to actively participate in defending my dear country, but to cry and whip for my bleeding country.

As you can all remember I used to actively engage here because I was confident I had supporting evidences behind me. I could proudly brag about infrastructure projects going on in Kenya because in reality they were there and many more were still being constructed by the Uhuru regime. Industries were coming up in every corner, big hospitals were being constructed. Investors were running to come and set up their businesses in Kenya. I was really proud of my country and I had a great hope of Kenya moving forward. At one point most Kenyans had a dream of Kenya moving to higher moving to higher middle income status before expected time, we even dreamed of surpassing Morocco GDP wise but guess what? It’s Kenya that has been surpassed by Ethiopia and Sudan. In terms of GDP Kenya has been relegated to position 8 in Africa and with this Government I foresee Tanzania passing Kenya before 2028.

During election time Kenyans in Nairaland were divided into two; Pro Ruto and Anti Ruto. I was against Ruto’s Presidency cause they guy had no any leadership truck record around his waist, he isn’t development oriented and he surrounded himself with clowns. Unlucky for the Anti-Ruto team, he anyhow managed to win with a small margin. His victory wasn’t celebrated as hard as previous victors celebrated their victory. The country was in somber mood except for few sycophants who didn’t fear for future. Even those who voted for him did so because of they gave him benefit of doubt, they weren’t fully convinced by the person they elected. Others elected him not because of his manifesto or philosophies but because they really hated the other better candidate.

The first red flag of his reign was the kind of people he appointed to head several ministries and parastatals. The appointees were so incompetent to a point the opposition party decided to approve the entire cabinet claiming that if they start to pin down the appointees 60% of them will fail to pass the approval. Now that’s the caliber of person we are calling the President. For me I usually know that when you become victor in a hotly contested election with another half of the country not voting, first thing to do is to earn trust of the 2/3 voting population that didn’t believe in you. How do you do this? Is by doing what’s right, appoint competent government (ministers, security organs etc).

Same here, nowadays there's no reason to be proud of about how Kenya is moving...I didn't support Zakayo but chose to give him time hoping he might prove us wrong, but he has confirmed our fears, the future looks so gloomy.... 😔

He hasn’t stabilized anything. When he came to power he found dollar trading at 120, he pushed it up then reduced it back to 130. Do you know how the shift happened?

When he got power major foreign investors were afraid of him and withdrew their money from NSE, this lead to increase demand of dolllars hence an increase from 120 in August 2022 to 160 2024. When he saw that he could not get touch of the escaping exchange rate, he turned to IMF, World bank and other international loans to inject dollars into the economy. Through these loans and donations at least shillings have stabilized.

On matters inflation. He is the guy who raised the prices of almost everything, when he got into power Super Petrol was retailing at 144, he pushed it to 213 per liter even though the global prices kept on reducing. This prompted Uganda to stop relying on petroleum imported by Kenya but instead started to import their own petroleum.

Nowadays I don’t even have the energy to mock our neighbors. When was the last time you so a major construction happening in Kenya? He has borrowed more money in his 21months reign than Uhuru did in his 10yrs reign yet we can’t see what the money is doing. During my time at the University of Nairobi I used to pay 16,000($123) yearly fee with another 6,000($46) accommodation fee. Today students are paying around 480,000($3,692) academy fee and 32,000($246) accommodation fee. Why hike the fee?

Cowdung from Azimio supporters in an international forum.
Ruto inherited a sunk that was going bankrupt.
It's a miracle Ruto has not defaulted on debt.
Ruto has done incredibly well to pay off Eurobond 2014 and clear the debt crisis almost - before the current mess started.
The economy grew at 5.7% - higher than anything bar 2021 COVID recovery - since 2018.
All Africa and frontier markets had their currency & equity markets nicked out the last two years.
Kenya KES is now the best performing - almost fully recovering - from near 160 to now 128.
Ruto has managed to tame inflation to 4.6%.
Nobody in current protest is shouting HUNGER HUNGER - because fertilizer subsidy saw maize production increase from 30m bags to 47M bags.Maize imports from UG and TZ are drying up.
Most of you are in forums because you want to see roads, bridges, railways and development - those will come later.
Right now Ruto gov is setting legal foundation for it's priority areas.
SHIF is off ground though court has put the spanner - once we nail Social health insurance - from NHIF mess - the country will fix health care.
Housing levy legal battles are over - tender for houses are out - soon GOV will be build 250K houses in addition to all that.

In every regime - the first one or two years is for setting legal framework.

Ruto was in Uhuru gov and was engine behind the roads & electricity.

1st two years of 2014/2015 - was on setting legal framework for low seal roads and for last mile electricity access.

Then the actions start on the ground and morons like you who need to see things to believe - will now come here and share pictures.

Ruto has small bump now - like in 2014 when terrorism attacked west gate - and need to figure out a way forward.

Gov revenues have grown at double digit the last two years - from 2trillion - we are now doing 2.6 trillion and more when you add non-ordinary revenues. The digitization of more than 15,000 gov services has grown revenues.

Ruto just need to figure out how to keep raising revenues otherwise kenya is on solid ground - and the development will soon start to show.

Of course Azimio nutcases will now claim its Raila who has brought development - because Ruto has to bring the ODM/Opposition thugs to gov to stop goons.

Uhuru invited IMF in 2020 and Ruto has continued with them.
IMF/WEST like Ruto because he has made very tough unpopular reforms.
The painful reforms were important to treat the debt crisis.
No politician want to be unpopular.
It was question of declaring bankruptcy like Ghana or Zambia - or hiking taxes to max limit.
Kenya has reached that max limit - and we need prayers not to default.
Moody has downgraded us to Caaa. Ghana took 10 months from Caaa to declare bankruptcy.
IMF have now refused to sign on the last phase of their program.

We absolutely need IMF for another year - and we need to raise revenues - or we go default.

Ruto will be upto the task because he is very smart. He might have to bring the ODM skunks though.

Kenya was/is at the end of debt crisis.
Gok has to figure out how to keep the momentum
It has aggressively been collecting 200-300B more than what previous gov did (50B) on annual basis.
Definitely the public seem to be saying we have reach our elastic limit on funding gov.
The defaulting option is terribe.

Therefore Gov just need to raise taxes - I see the fuel levy for road maintenance is up - great job

Otherwise all indicators are looking great.

We navigate this financial year and we should be out of danger.

Sikio la kufa haliskii dawa. Till now you still think IMF is the central issue. It was just a trigger. By now you should understand that Ruto is a lame duck president waiting for his time to come. He knows as well as everyone that the rot in his govt is what the people want changed COMPLETELY. No half measures! And that includes the head of the fish, Ruto himself. Untill he does what the people are saying he is just expending energy uselessly. People want all senior govt officials' salaries chopped by over 50 % not by word of mouth but in reality. People want all MPs gone, esp those who voted for the oppressive bill. Some of the demanded changes MAY require referendum. NG-CDF, number of governors, senators, women reps and their salaries etc. People are demanding accountability not as a matter of necessity but urgency. Keep fixating on IMF to run away from the reality staring you in the face. The MPigs gathered like wolves to pass a bill to oppress the people the same way they have always gathered to raise their salaries, now is the era of aura for aura. The people have to fix the system. People will push this entire political establishment to oblivion unless they change with the times and fulfill ALL the demands. The MPs to this day cannot dare mention the president's name in their constituencies and you think somehow people are just fools to let Ruto get away with this and return to normalcy? Aint gonna happen. People are more than happy to keep life hell for ALL politicians, including the so-called opposition, untill such a time when IEBC will be ready and an election can be held. The entire slate will be wiped clean. By the time we have a new dispensation, MPs will be earning the same salaries as doctors with meagre allowances. Every coin that is spent by govt will be accounted for, even if it entails having blockchain systems in place for all govt transactions. You dont understand what it means dealing with 30-40 million youth who have all the time in the world to waste and zero tolerance to BS. Ruto is the one without time. The sooner he smells the coffee the better. The inflation you're celebrating now is only down due to IMF dollars. Because Ruto spent the first 20 months in office recovering campaign monies and enriching his close circle of tribal cabal. The economy was TANKING by the time he ran to IMF all because looting was nearing Mobutu levels. A Ksh that was at 120 by the time Uhuru left was at 160. Ruto is beholden to IMF only because he thought the country had limitless resources to loot and fill the bottomless pockets of akina Murkomen. Now you idiots expect us to congratulate him for taking a shilling that was at 120 by the time he took office to 130 from an all-time low he orchestrated of 160. Why would he bribe MPs 2 M bob to vote for the bill and kill those who oppose the bill? Because he loves us too much heh? We are not fools and he isnt nearly as smart as he thinks or his apologists trying to make him. That IMF bill was meant to cover his sins/loonatic theft and open more doors for looting because IMF money cannot be accounted for and IMF likes it that way so that they can keep profiting off the sweat of Africans who remain in abject poverty trying to repay looted monies that never increased productivity in the country. We are not fools my friend. The sooner Ruto realizes this the better, and the public rebellion wont cease untill he goes. I frankly cant see him surviving this one. Even those IDs and passports that the govt no longer issues due to the rot at Nyayo house he will issue them by force and fire so that all the youth kick him out. He wont believe. This generation will force him to do everything that is needed to send him and his ilk home. You guys arent even ashamed of returning us back to the Moi era when getting an ID or passport had to be a struggle and you'd have to pay a bribe for every goddamn service! Kenyans have cried day and night to be issued with IDs and no one cares unless you pay a bribe. Listen, RIP, I know we are in the post -tribal-ism era and Gen Zs might kill me for this but I have always said as a Luo that if Kenya has to be led by a Kikuyu or Kalenjin, it better be a Kikuyu every time. The Kikuyu will steal from you, invest the money locally, build infrastructure, but still ensure every govt service is working efficiently, business is thriving, and wont flaunt the stolen wealth. Compare that to your people who will steal from you, take all the money abroad, build nothing, make sure you cant get even basic govt services, destroy business and industry, flaunt the wealth stolen from you and vomit on your shoes, and when you raise a voice step on your head and smash it. Thats the reality, but I am glad the Gen Zs have shown us that we dont have to settle for mediocrity when we have the actual power if we are united tribeless. We want a fresh start where all the rules will be dictated by the citizens. The executive cannot continue setting the rules that favor only them. The MPigs, all of those fools will go home. None of them will return. Every CS appointed will have to be as clean as a whistle. That is the bare minimum. Ruto cannot and should not even dream of appointing his chronies and corrupted humanoids. Even from Raila's camp. That is ofcourse if he wants to last till 2027. One wrong move and he will not survive. The best thing this revolution has achieved is that Kenyans finally managed to banish politicians from the top of society. They're no longer admired for their wealth and Kenyans are actually disgusted by them. This is the real weapon that will finish the grand corruption problem

Fixing the rotten system one department at a time. You can imagine a whole president and his deputy creating offices for their spouses and funding those offices, which exist nowhere in the constitution, to the tune of 1.25 Billion Kshs or about 15 Billion Naira every year. Yet the president and his deputy each has an office and an official residence each separately funded to the tune of billions. Anyone who does this is a diabolical maniac that deserves to retire. We have never hit these lows previously where the president is always looking for a loophole to steal public resources. This kind of depraved mentality is very hard to explain even from an evolutionary perspective. These are people who endlessly portrayed themselves as the most saved people in Kenya. And they wonder why the youth no longer give a piss about religion. The entire rotten political filth will be done away with.
