That's because US made weapons are overpriced. The military industrial complex in the US charges it's government many times the amount it's weapons are worth. It's all part of corruption in the deep state of the US. For example a US tomahawk cruise missile costs $2 million while the Russian equivalent the Kalibr Cruise missile costs $900k. Yet Russian made weapons have proven to be more effective than US ones in Ukraine.

One fact you have failed realized is that, measuring American economy in dollars never gives the real economic value. Every other on the list have it's defense budget running in trillions of their dosmetic currencies but reduces when converted to dollars. As cost of production, American having a more valuable currency to Russian and high income will always have a higher cost of production.

Also remember Russia spent 10 years there and failed catastrophically.

With a budget that is MORE than 3X that of the next country and their population, they will remain the BIG DADDY of the world for a long time.

Do you know of that more than 50% of that is spent on running military bases around the world? Another chunk on R& and logistics?

Anyone who's not really interested in spreading democracy won't have to spend that much on defence budget.

It's not always like you think, infact Russia has an equivalent of ANY weapon the US have for a fraction of the cost.

The US defence budget is actually overbloated because of kickbacks to highranking officials and contractors like Lockheed and Co.

A lot of the US budget is on research and development.

A sizable proportion of costs could be inflated due to the military-industrial complex. The big defence contractors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin.

The defence contractors own the US! They lobbying their rep members and pay the media handsomely too. Those rumours of war that topple oil prices won't spread themselves and the state-of-the-art military hardware won't gather dust for nothing.

Not for a fact but I think the US military budget is gulped by:

1. Multiple military complexes they operate around the world (55%)

2. R& (30%)

3. Logistics (10%)

4. Health, salary and the rest (5%)

They should have spent that huge amount on Obama care

This is exactly how the Russia-Ukraine war started. Putin warned so many times but they called his bluff, Ukraine is a shadow of itself today because Zelenskiyy allowed himself to be a puppet. The biggest mistake Zelenskiyy made was to allow his country suffer while two elephants fought. They'll have to agree on a ceasefire but Putin WILL NEVER give back those regions he captured. In the end everyone will leak their wounds. Putin won't pay any repatriation either. After the war, Zelenskiyy will have to run to the democracy givers to rebuild his country.

The war gas turned the world economy around, the Europeans especially Germany I believe won't have supported this war if they saw the end from the beginning. The US thought as usual, sanctions will do the trick but now the whole world is learning, others are growing in boldness too.

We don't want the same thing to play out in with China. The US will not get directly involved in a war with Taiwan, they can give all the military hardware available but won't get directly involved in combat. If they do, it'll trigger what we all don't want to happen.

Russia budget is lower but their weapon are more sophisticated and highly effective than American weapons.

50% of US budget are actually embezzled by the manufacturing companies and that is why their CEOs always smile home with beautiful packages every year end.

In reality US doesn't even have hypersonic missiles , they just started developing the technologies after seeing how Russia is dealing with Ukraine.

The US doesn't even have missile defense system to cover their territory. The whole East Coast is entirely without missile defense system.

That is the first point of strike for Russia, New York and its environs are easily within total and fatal destruction in case war start today.

So big budget doesn't translate to big development.
