What An Ethiopian Man Told Me About Nigerian Women by Tellmeastory: 6:19pm On Jul 12
On a recent business visit to the UK, I met an Ethiopian professional guy in London, and we had a conversation in which I stated half-jokingly that I would love to visit Ethiopia to get myself a nice, beautiful Ethiopian woman.

He erupted in laughter, and said that I was most welcome to visit Addis Ababa anytime, as the city is filled with beautiful women who are also very humble.

He then said that he liked Nigerian women, but that the only problem based on his experience with them is that the only thing they care about is money, and that that was why he doesn’t like dating them.

I was so embarrassed.

Why are our women like this?

It’s terrible.

Their reputation for money obsession is now international.

They need major reorientation, so that they can understand that life is not just about money and wealth.

And the funny thing is that they are the most church-crazed women in Africa, yet the most highly materialistic.

A tragic, stunning irony, and a clear sign that they are only deceiving themselves with that ‘Jesus’ stuff, because no one is fooled, least of all the Most High.

Women should make sure they date men that can comfortably take care of them and any future children they have together. Don’t let any man broke shame you. Look for husband material, same way they look for wife material.

Get it into your skull as a woman that marriage is not a paid employment. If you are broke, don't seek husband, rather learn skills, upgrade yourself and get decent jobs. Don't use marriage to solve personal poverty - that would mean you don't like getting things done the right way in your day to day life

It is not all Nigerian women. It is women from a particular tribe the prioritises money over all things. Even in their husband's house offer them good money they will bed you. They think that there God given asset is for Monday making. I never mentioned any tribe. There are over 200 tribes in Nigeria.

being obsessed with money is one thing, looking for security is another.... a mechanic can easily take care of a wife, a deluded woman would look down on a mechanic (or someone similar) and seek for a billionaire, while the majority of women would end up marrying a mechanic anyway.

at the end of the day, a man with a great character (regardless of his finances) is what you women should look for... because a fortune can be lost, a character cannot!

Most Nigerian women are so useless and lazy to the extend that most of them can't even get themselves airtime, they see relationship as poverty alleviation program. It's in Nigeria that you will see a girl with 2k in her account calling someone broke boy.what useless set of animal majority of them are.

How can it be all Nigerian women? Starting your comment with this already killed your point.

BTW, its applicable to most Nigerian women irrespective of tribes esp Southern women

Nigeria is a poor country with millions of girls who want to live a soft life and depend on rich married men for upkeep. This attitude has become a culture amongst Nigerian women.

The average Nigerian woman is getting married to escape poverty not for love or to build a family

Ok. A woman with great character(regardless of she can cook or not, take care of the house or not, etc) is what most men should also look out for. She can learn to do all those but a character she cannot.

It should be women should make sure they can pay for their upkeep and not transfer that the responsibility to a man you are dating. It's actually pathetic to keep begging men for money...where are your parents?

Yeah, same as men. They should learn to look after themselves in their marriages and not wait for the women to cook, do their laundry, take care of their children etc.

Nobody is telling you to marry broke and and ambition-less man. At least he should be able to provide for himself and buy you dinner if you go out but not footing your bills. The later is your family responsibility.

most times house maid is the one doing all this things, sex shouldn't be the only thing a woman will bring to the table in a decent relationship or marriage.

What the guy is trying to say is that, 9ja girls are ashawo. Some do it openly the others do it codedly.

The bottom line is that, they are all ashawo. The fact that you haven't caught your girlfriend/sister/wives, doing ashawo work doesn't mean she is not an ashawo. They are all the same.

Is nice visiting Imo state, Nkechi Abeg bring that your useless kpekus make I scatter B4 I enter Warri 2moro. No time!

There is one tribe in the south, you don't need money to date and Bleep them sha. They are very cheap. During my youth service days, my colleagues Bleep them tire. Personally, I prefer the tribe that demands for money to the one that get bleeped by everyone for free. These ones smell a lot too because they lack the money to maintain their bodies.

Oyibo women are divorcing their husbands and walking away with half and sometimes everything the men have as settlement for divorce but it's Nigeria women that love money.

One one hand you said Nigerian women, and on the other hand you said these Nigerian women are deceiving themselves with "Jesus stuff", therein lies your bias!

Are all the women in Nigeria believing in Jesus Christ or being Christians?

How about the Muslim women with their "Mohammed stuff", or the Atheist women with their " whatever stuff", or the pagan women with their "kayanmata juju stuff"? Or aren't these group of women Nigerians too? And if they're Nigerians don't they like money too or you deliberately left them out based on your own bias? And if they don't like money, why can't you go for them or refer them to your Ethiopian friend?
