As much I don't like a brooding Superman, I loved Man Of Steel. I liked the tone. Synder took a classic, hopeful superhero and dropped him into our distrusting, polarised, post-9/11 world to be a beacon to teach the disgruntled people how to hope again. I think the Gunn film is going to be total bubblegum escapism, which will be fine, but I love that Snyder tried to give us something rooted in our own time and different to what we'd always had before.

The funny thing is that I'm labelled a Gunn worshipper/fanboy but I agree with your post. I enjoyed the Snyderverse but I'm also interested in what Gunn is cooking.

Nobody's attacking anybody for liking Snyder's work. It's the folks hating on Gunn while acting like Snyder is the only one that can adapt the DC verse that people have a problem with.
