Adesina, a former agriculture minister, said, “Nigeria’s recently announced policy to open its borders for massive food imports, just to tackle short-term food price hikes, is depressing.”

He warned that the policy could undermine all the hard work and private investments that had gone into Nigeria’s agriculture sector.

“Nigeria cannot rely on the importation of food to stabilise prices. Nigeria should be producing more food to stabilise food prices while creating jobs and reducing foreign exchange spending, that will further help stabilise the naira.

“Nigeria cannot import its way out of food insecurity. Nigeria must not be turned into a food import-dependent nation,” he stated.

The next president will start local production and ban importation.

Its a cycle

So what is he suggesting now as a stop gap?

Someone on Twitter said it's the government that will use it's own doing to set the country ablaze. The people's back is already at the wall.

When I renewed my papers in January, my Vehicle papers guy say what about CMR ? I told him I was not interested because I know the CMR is illegal and there's no law empowering the police to start generating revenue for govt.

Now it looks as if the IG is bent on raking 6k from everybody on a yearly basis whether the law permits him to do so or not. I guess we will have no choice but to bend for that like we did for yearly proof of ownership

One thing I have noticed is that our law enforcement in Nigeria don't really care about the law they are required to enforce. They just deal with the law however they like.

I remember someone actually took the case of road worthiness certificate to court and won. The judgement was that road worthiness certificate is not required for private vehicles but commercial vehicles. The case was won at the appeal court and no law enforcement agency has appealed further, yet police, VIO and road safety will hold u for not having road worthniness.

It is starting to look like that.

What's more annoying is that their reason for CMR is to have a comprehensive database of all vehicles

All vehicles data is on the proof of ownership
All vehicles data is on the Vehicle licence
All vehicles data is on the Road worthiness certificate

But Police need 6k to collect the same data again!

Izzou , this sums up what Ifite Awka is all about. The most insecure area in the whole of Anambra state is Ifite Awka and it is less than 3Km away from Soludo's government house.

The student hostels there are robbed comfortably for several hours with the robbers coming with hammer and chisel to remove the windows of students who refuse to open their doors.

Soludo needs to explain what he uses his security votes for.

I have always been against Soludo because of how poorly he has handled the security situation since he came on board.

Unknown gunmen and thieves disturbing people up and down, and yet no sign of relief.

Sadly, for me, no tangible replacement in the forthcoming election, so he is likely coming back.

This election is very funny because most of America's enemies want trump to win.

Also Bibi nethenyahu wants trump to win

As far as I am concerned he allowed Hamas to strike so that the reverbrations would lead to dems not voting Joe Biden. Because too many liberals are not pragmatic which is how they got trump in the first place. It seems they have not learned the lesson
