Please I will really appreciate a quick response to this. I am filing a UK standard visa application to attend a conference on a scholarship, meaning all expenses are borne by the organizations that gave me the scholarship. Which is the best Visa category to pick. Is it the paid engagement? Also how best do I answer this. Does NYSC fall into this category. Thank you.

Good afternoon everyone, Please my aunt (my mother's cousin) would like to visit my family and I in the UK for about 3 weeks. Age 54. Single. I am fully sponsoring her trip. How do I show proof of relationship please. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by JhyMedex: 2:34pm On Jul 11 |
giselle237:Okay. I'll tick none of the above then.. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Ashirioluwa: 3:09pm On Jul 11 |
Ewapop: This is not easy to prove, but you can state the relationship between both of you in your application. Also, you can upload - The photos you took together with your aunt. - The photos that your aunt and your mom took together. The photo that you, your mom, and your aunt took together. Also, you can upload the transcript of the text messages between you and your aunt. 1 Like |

The documents will help: 1. Bank statements. They request 3 months statement but I usually submit 4 months. 2. Companies documents. 3. Marriage certificate and children birth certificates to demonstrate home ties. 4. Do another travel insurance in Nigeria. Axa Mansard or AIICO to cover the period of your stay or in excess of the days. 5. Photocopies of all visas and resident permit on your passport. New and expired. Especially visas from UK, EU, Canada or USA. 6. Photocopies of landed properties. 7. Flight and hotel bookings. If possible, pay for at least one night for the accommodation. 8. Write a cover note explaining your business and your sojourn in Naija and south Africa. Mention a few attraction sites you intend to visit in the country you want to visit. Google is your friend in this area. Tourist attractions in..... 9. You can check "Visiting France as a visitor" thread for more information All the best. JoeOge22: |

There will be a delay in the processing of visas because this is summer time and there will be a huge increase in the number of people traveling or seeking visas. 1 Like |

Hello everyone! I need guidance on my application, honestly happy to defer it if I get feedback here that waiting would be better. Personal situation: Monthly income: 1.85m Flag: I am repaying a facility with my employer(been working with them 2.5years) that ends this month (this will take my income back to 1.85, it has been 1.1m because of this). Preference: to avoid explaining too much, I plan to generate my statement from this month and for three months (max 4) so I can still get an appointment and travel by December. Expenses: differs due to ongoing personal plans. Willing to modify this and spend the minimum possible while relying on savings. Duration: 1 week I plan to stay with a friend. Sponsorship of trip is fully on me Travel history: I have had 3 Schengen visas (allowing me visit Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, and Belgium….one connection through Amsterdam (exit stamp) and 1 Moroccan visa and exit/entry stamp for Ghana How would you advise I structure my expenses over the next 3-4months and how much do I declare as trip expense (this part greatly confuses me) Caveat: I have been denied a U.K. visa July 2023 and Jan 2023. The latter, I stated my aunt would sponsor the entire thing. They flagged nothing with my account but said I did not prove relationship with my aunt (fair, because we don’t have same last name anymore) This time, I’m not including her at all. I also noticed on the list of ties that they consider family relationship in the Uk, aunt is not listed. I had to type on the field in my last application. The former was something around trip budget not matching my disposable income and my employers CAC being inactive leading to doubts on my employment status (weird because my payslips etc were there). The CAC thing has since been rectified Again, if you think I should wait to build credibility, I will. I am also so keen to clear the refusal record (it annoys me till date since they’re the only ones who have denied me a visa). Your guidance will be appreciated! |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 11:52am On Jul 14 |
thelma76:. Take your time. I strongly suggest you use your aunt instead of a friend. You just need to prove your relationship. How exactly are you related to her? If you let me know, I can suggest how you can prove your relationship. When UK visa officers want to deny you, they will look for the smallest thing to use against you. You have already mentioned an aunt. It will look suspicious to leave her out in your next application and introduce a friend. With UK, if you are sure of yourself, provide proof of your claims. Insist she is indeed your aunt and prove it. Say you will stay with her - meaning accomodation and feeding will be taken care of. Build your account for the next 6 months and apply early 2025. Leave UK this year. Otherwise, you will look desperate which is a red flag. Good luck![/b] 3 Likes |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Ashirioluwa: 6:11pm On Jul 14 |
onile1975: Since you said in your application that she is not coming with you, you will need to write a really strong and convincing letter to support her application. A copy of your visa should be included with the application. Try your luck; it is a 50/50 chance. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by nairabase(m): 7:00pm On Jul 14 |
Hello there, I need advice from the UK visa experts out there. I am applying for my 3rd UK visit visa after getting rejected twice in 2019 and 2022. My first and second rejections are due to proof of funds. Although I usually have more than enough balance to cover my trip expenses, but they require me to explain my sources of funds. This is because I am self-employed, offering digital marketing services, and use my account in my name to receive client payments, as I have not been paying myself salary monthly. What are my chances of getting approved the third time if I provide my account with payments from clients as a source of my income and then provide an invoice as supporting documents to explain my income from my clients? Thanks for your advice. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 7:24pm On Jul 14 |
@thelma76. Circumstances change, you can decide not to mention your aunt again as who is to say the relationship has not gone sour, or your aunt has not left the particular city you are now going to be visiting? Say she was in Manchester and now you intend to holiday in Sheffield and see things in Sheffield, you obviously wont stay with her or might not visit her during this your trip and this is a valid reason. Since you have 2 previous denials with them, pls try ur best not to lose this opportunity. U can keep ur spending to the barest minimum so that u would have a huge disposable income.. this helps ur case better. And u can also fully sponsor ur trip. Create an itinerary for the 1 week Research on things u want to do and places u want to see that are easily accessible… not visiting one place in london and the next place is in leeds Book a hotel- that is cancellable work on the ties u want to present Is this 1.1m a salaried job? If it is yes then that’s good Get a leave approval letter stating the exact dates u want to travel and tht they r expecting u back If you rent a property and ur rent is still ongoing u can add this information If u own ur own property and assets.. add them Discover everything you can use as home ties and use it in this application. The goal is to make them understand that on a balance of probabilities that u can be trusted and that they should take a chance on you that you would return. Your documents and information therefore have to show this 1 Like |

onile1975:Depends on the case worker. Some would let it go and approve for the child, others would specifically mention that you said you were not travelling with the child and now you applied after getting ur visa… so on the basis of this it is now refused… |
