@nairabase… if I had 2 previous UK refusals like yourself I would do all in my power to change any thing that could bring me a refusal. If you have not acquired any significant travel history since the both refusals then I would do things the easier method and pay my self a salary and take it from there. There’s no need been in a rush and at the finish line, you end up crashing. That is never my modus operandi.

@abubakar123olat you can do your biometrics in abuja, lagos or even ph or enugu
TLS is the one who handles the biometrics- finger print and digital photo taking.. they then e-transport your documents to UKVI who assess the application and take the decision
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by killaskillz: 7:44pm On Jul 14
Any idea why some applications taking way longer than others despite submitting basically the same type of documents and applying for the same thing?
My colleagues that had their biometrics after me have all gotten their visas but I'm yet to get mine. What could be responsible or is it just a chanced occurrence?

@ashiriolowo cash madam and the rest please I need your clearification on the following below

Please can someone submit his or her visa application in Abuja , because majority of the place people are doing biometric is Lagos so I started thinking maybe Abuja do not take UK visa application

And secondly please after something to tls is all application submitted to Lagos and Abuja tls carried to same places for visa decision

I am asking this in other to figure out which one to submit application to that your application will be look into as fast as possible cause we are in the summer and I believe they will have alot of application

Please I need your guys to contribute

No matter where the application is submitted, the gov.uk website says that straightforward applications will be processed within 15 business days.

Anyway, because a lot of people are seeking visas during the summer, this can cause visa processing delays.

Below are the UK visa application centers in Nigeria.
- Abuja
- Enugu
- Lagos Ikeja
- Lagos Victoria Island
- Port Harcourt

Enugu and Port Harcourt centers are both TLScontact premium locations; therefore, anyone using any of these locations is required to pay £250.

Lagos, Victoria Island: This center is not free. Anyone using this location is required to pay the MUP fee.

Note that It is not guaranteed that your application will be processed in Nigeria, even if it is submitted in Lagos or Abuja. Applications submitted in Nigeria may be processed in the UK or in Pretoria, SA.

Thank you ma! It is my first attempt.
1. The monthly salary is not constant, in fact at times I earn more than 400k per month. I get most of it in cash from clients. All these I explained in my cover letter which was not considered.
3. Although I am not married, but I have a fiance, my dad and my dad's properties which I am personally managing. I explained all these in my cover letter and even provided evidence. In fact I even provided my current practicing dues receipt to show that I am active in practice.
4. My sister was happy to sponsor my trip because of what she is currently going through( she needed me around as a mother figure for a short period just so she can have comfort after the recent death of our mum) I explained this also in my cover letter.
5. When do you think I should reapply?
ECO not convinced you'll return to Nigeria

No strong ties

. Take your time. I strongly suggest you use your aunt instead of a friend. You just need to prove your relationship. How exactly are you related to her? If you let me know, I can suggest how you can prove your relationship. When UK visa officers want to deny you, they will look for the smallest thing to use against you. You have already mentioned an aunt. It will look suspicious to leave her out in your next application and introduce a friend. With UK, if you are sure of yourself, provide proof of your claims. Insist she is indeed your aunt and prove it. Say you will stay with her - meaning accomodation and feeding will be taken care of. Build your account for the next 6 months and apply early 2025. Leave UK this year. Otherwise, you will look desperate which is a red flag. Good luck![/b]

Thanks a lot for sparing time to respond. She’s my dad’s younger sister so same surname with my dad before she got married.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by thelma76(f): 10:08pm On Jul 14
giselle237:
@thelma76. Circumstances change, you can decide not to mention your aunt again as who is to say the relationship has not gone sour, or your aunt has not left the particular city you are now going to be visiting?
Say she was in Manchester and now you intend to holiday in Sheffield and see things in Sheffield, you obviously wont stay with her or might not visit her during this your trip and this is a valid reason.
Since you have 2 previous denials with them, pls try ur best not to lose this opportunity. U can keep ur spending to the barest minimum so that u would have a huge disposable income.. this helps ur case better.
And u can also fully sponsor ur trip.
Create an itinerary for the 1 week
Research on things u want to do and places u want to see that are easily accessible… not visiting one place in london and the next place is in leeds
Book a hotel- that is cancellable
work on the ties u want to present
Is this 1.1m a salaried job? If it is yes then that’s good
Get a leave approval letter stating the exact dates u want to travel and tht they r expecting u back
If you rent a property and ur rent is still ongoing u can add this information
If u own ur own property and assets.. add them
Discover everything you can use as home ties and use it in this application.
The goal is to make them understand that on a balance of probabilities that u can be trusted and that they should take a chance on you that you would return. Your documents and information therefore have to show this

Super! Thanks a lot for responding. So definitely keeping spending to the minimum, applying as a tourist, and gathering documentation to prove ties. That means, it makes sense to have my rental agreement, right?
Yes, it’s a salaried job

Thanks for your feedback.

I have actually been to Singapore, and Dubai for visit after my UK visa rejection. However, I am not sure they will consider these destinations as a solid travel history.

I am re applying again for a UK visit visa because my brother is inviting me for his graduation in September.

This is a once in a lifetime event, and it means me missing out if i start building a salary statement of account before applying again.

I have a daughter in Nigeria but not married, and properties in my name to establish home ties.

My major concern is knowing if an invoice for my clients can verify source of funds in my personal account.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for responding.

Is her bank statement required as well?
Having an accommodation and food sorted out will reduce my budget that is also why I want to use it.

But I also don't want it to appear that I cannot pay and accommodation and feed myself during my stay in the UK.

So I am quite confused so that's why I wanted an opinion on it.

Please can someone give me clarification?

Keep your letter to one or two pages, if possible. 7 pages seems excessive to me, and I don't think VO has the time to go through a letter that is 7 pages long for one application.

I'm not an immigration expert or a visa agent; this is just my own personal view.

@ giselle237, ashirioluwa, cash madam and justwise

We need ur advice on this case, my wife just got a u.k visa and in are application,a question that says is ur daughter travelling with u? We picked No, But now that are visa is approved,we now change ur mind that are daughter should go with her,how can we apply for her daughters visa? Pls we need ur advice on how to apply for ur daughter so that they will not denied it.

Please add a cover letter to explain why your daughter needs to travel with your wife. It's a 50/50 really.

My colleague's husband was refused recently because he applied after his wife (who has a 2 year valid visa running). The reason? The wife didn't state that her husband will be travelling with her. It was very strange and annoying because she got her visa last year! I wonder if something else caused the refusal but that was the reason stated (I read the refusal letter).

Essentially, you can't really predict what will happen but I think a cover letter will help. Pray for favour! Good luck!

Yes, thank you! Waiting on my brothers’. TLS server was down on Friday so he couldn’t do biometrics. Wonder what will happen next
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Nnekkyneks: 10:16am On Jul 15
Did the wife travel alone and come back? My husband has a 2years valid visa last year he travelled and came back. I applied this year stating he had a valid visa put copies of the visa and i and my kids got the visa. There r so many factors to consider, they just put that as the reason. I saw on this thread a woman who did it same( applied 1st got it applied for her child )and she was denied. However if u hv a very valid reason and u can prove it. Pls go ahead.
All the best

I am just concerned about why decision making take times for others and is fast for others even though you submitted the application the same date

And also why is it that it's fast for some visa category and not for other category please can you guys shed more light to this

Wows that's great,

But bro when did you submit your biometric and it takes how many days after biometric before they called you for interview?

nwelih:
A few questions you need to memorize when going for U.K Tier 5 charity volunteer work visa interview session in Nigeria

Firstly, if you did your application yourself, then you wouldn't have many issues, rather just take note of some key things.

This interview was in July 2023 at the TLS cONTACT, V.I, Lagos. Read through these questions and memorize your answers before the interview, be confident, and speak calmly.

Questions from WSP Interview
1. Name, DOB, Nationality
2. What do you do for a living
3. Where do you work, spell it
4. How much is your monthly income
5. Is that the only income you make monthly? No
6. How much do you make in the other Business
7. Who is your employer in the UK
8. What does the company do
9. When did you get your COS, (date)
10. Who interviewed you, (name)
11. What were the questions asked
12. What is your job role with them
13. How much is your salary
14. Who will be your boss
15. How did you find out about them
16. What is their website address
17. What is the office address
18. Have you worked as a volunteer?
19. With who
20. Did you find any other charity organization in the Uk
21. Why this charity organization
22. Do you have any family in the UK
23. What is their Name(s)
24. Are they British citizens
25. Where will you be staying
26. What's the distance from where you will be staying to the charity work
27. Do you have any family here in Nigeria
28. Which of your family has traveled to the UK
29. When did they travel
30. What is their name
31. How old are they
32. How many hours/ days will you be working
33. And what will you be doing after that
34. What will happen to your job in Nigeria
35. What are your future plans after the charity work
36. How have you been feeling throughout this interview
37. Who did this processing for you? Myself
38. Who paid your visa fee and IHS? Myself
39. If we check, was it your name on the card? No, over here in Nigeria, you can't just use any debit card for online payment, one would need to have a dollar/ pounds card. The process of obtaining that is rigorous and tedious hence, why I had to use a card owned by a colleague.
40. What is the name on the card, and who is he to you
41. How do you tend to manage yourself in the UK
42. Where will you be staying, the address, who lives there
43. Do you have anything else you'll like to add

The interview was about an hour, there were other questions I can't recall but, these are the major ones. So guys you can make use of it.
you can buzz me on WhatsApp if you need support or have questions regarding your application. 08072982272

Application date: 18th June
Biometrics : 25th June
Received by DMC: 28th June
TLS Collection: 16th July
Pick up: 16th July ,
6 months travel history and a previous denial.
2 years visa.

Had a previous renewal refusal 2022 didn’t bother reapplying.
Reason for denial the tax clearance for company was not included the agent said no need.

Thanks to everyone, read and read page by page and just decided to try since circumstances had changed and l didn’t bother using an agent this time around.
