Kobojunkie: The question is, was the constitution followed since 99, or was it enforced ... nobody dey follow you argue the law was long written or not, if not that you just want to argue for arguement sake I said "reinstated" .. find a dictionary bro cos you are just arguing off point besides is it even court/judge that will pass a new law should we think local govt autonomy is new sef |

signature2012: Before you say PO is a better person and how has life treated Nigerians for the past 12 months. Remember, Nigeria is made up of 36 States and an FCT. Now truthfully say how was Anambra State when PO was governor and how was life there? How much wa PO paying as minimum wage during his administration as governor compared to Lagos and FCT? How much was the price of food stuffs? What's the IGR ? |

Re: Investing In Youths Will Aid Our Journey From Consumption To Production – Obi by Kobojunkie: 6:29pm On Jul 15 |
chidiokay:The way the average Nigerian reasons is most definitely at the root of all of the problems of Nigeria! Suppose the Law says that a husband beating his wife and vice versa is a crime, but people continue to flout the law and policemen turn a blind eye when they see a man beating his wife even in a public place, does it mean that the law is the problem and needs to be changed? Does it mean that husbands or wives cannot be sued and prosecuted for any of the crimes they have committed during all of that time when the law was in place? If nobody dey follows the law then why are you rejoicing here that the Supreme Court has twisted the law to create a new one which according to you nobody will also follow? 2. You can only reinstate/restore a law that was removed or pushed out by way of legal manipulation. Section 162 of the Constitution has remained intact since 1999. The Supreme Court did not reinstate any law; rather it completely ignored the law and chose to instead assert a different idea. 3. Courts do not pass new laws. |

Kobojunkie: Anambra has one of the highest number of schools in the country. There's no need to build new ones while you can renovate the old ones and equip them with modern facilities and they'll rival any new building. I'm sure you know this. It's foolishness that makes governors to start erecting new structures while there are old structures doing the same functionality, just like my former governor, Rochas, did. As for your second question, google is available for you to check stats. Or you're one of those your leaders who don't know the value of statistics? |

bixton:Let's visit the meaning of Federalism. Please pay close attention to not just the definition of the term but also the example of current states that implement the system. Federalism is a system of government in which the same territory is controlled by two levels of government. Generally, an overarching national government is responsible for broader governance of larger territorial areas, while the smaller subdivisions, states, and cities govern the issues of local concern. The constitution, the legal contract/agreement upon which the federation of Nigeria is defined does not talk about federalism. What it instead does is describe the design and structure of the system. |
Re: Investing In Youths Will Aid Our Journey From Consumption To Production – Obi by Kobojunkie: 6:58pm On Jul 15 |
YouAreNobody:1. Having the highest number of schools means absolutely nothing if the level of education remains as poor as it is in other states in the country. But what you seem to be saying is that Obi renovated old schools and equipped them with modern facilities. What modern facilities are those? 2. Nothing on Google says what you claim, and yes, I have had this debate with someone before this. According to reports, it has the best school completion records among the states, sure, but the best educational system... that is a stretch. |

Obaranje:You are very much correct that he didn't do any of the above. But he certainly did impede, illegally mind you, on the powers of the LG chairmen in his state during his tenure as governor. That contributed to limiting growth at the grassroots levels during his tenure as governor. Just imagine for a minute if the LGs had been able to freely carry out their various functions in the state at the time, the state might be a very different place than it is today.

Kobojunkie: From offpoint to wrong analogy you could not even come up with an analogy that suite the discourse At these point highlight were i said its a new law , do you "reinstate" for something "new" abi o kor fe argue nii Becos the law has no history of implementation or activation it is more or less "INACTIVE" ..subsequently Governors impunity override that law but the court has restored it ... any local govt chairman can drag his governor to court incase, above all Funds will now be paid directly to local govts .. what never happened don pass no be big deal ... go n sit down jare |

Re: Investing In Youths Will Aid Our Journey From Consumption To Production – Obi by Kobojunkie: 8:03pm On Jul 15 |
chidiokay:Offpoint here is you and the analogy was to help you better reason the foolishness of what is being done to you here as opposed to what you would rather pretend the case.■ From offpoint to wrong analogy you could not even come up with an analogy that suite the discourse. 2. You are not as intelligent as you pretend, you know? You can only reinstate/restore a law that was removed or pushed out by way of legal manipulation. Section 162 of the Constitution has remained intact since 1999. The Supreme Court did not reinstate any law; rather it completely ignored the law and chose to instead assert a different idea. 3. The Law defined in Section 162 has been ACTIVE since 1999. A Constitutional law goes into effect the moment a country is established upon it. This happened back in 1999 as far as Nigeria as a democracy; the law never experiences a black-out of any sort so long as the nation continues to exist under the system established by that particular contract. 4. Impuntity DOES NOT override the Law(See Section 308 of your Constitution). Immunity does not absolve the President, Vice-President, Governors, or deputy Governors of any of the crimes committed during their time in office. Immunity as defined by the Constitution DOES NOT impede or do away with the people's power to have any of them removed from office and then prosecuted afterward. 5. Local Government Chairmen CANNOT drag Governors for criminal cases (See Section 308 of your Constitution). 6. The Federal government sending funds directly to LGs was illegal before this ruling(See Section 162 of your Constitution).

Kobojunkie: I was @least expecting you to start by point out where i insinuated the law as new i don't need compliment, tell me a law that has no potency how e take beta one that was removed or flushed out whateva How can a law that has zero implementation or record of enforce be active .. are you menstruating if you download a app and never open or use it will it appear on active app, my own phone sometimes advise me to delete such apps .. thats a smart phone you should be smarter when i said drag governors to court, its not for prosecution stop being dumb, its for interpretation & enforcement, did tinubu not take FG (OBj) to court on local govt creation, have we not seen governors drag FG (Buhari) to court, or is it not FG that sue the 36 governors to court over lG autonomy criminal case kor I won't even waste my time further, arguing the last paragraph with you, |

chidiokay:1. See how person dey reason in 2024 ooo! 2. Yes, the app is in fact active on your phone until you manually deactivate or disable it! 3. Interpretation and enforcement of what exactly? Be clear on exactly why they approach the courts at least. Look again, at what the constitution says. (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Constitution, but subject to subsection (2) of this section - 4. Ogbeni, it is clear that you are not informed about the Law of your land. Please take time out to do that so you don't continue to argue like a fish-brain. |
