Good afternoon everyone

Please which medium can I use to pay for my Wes fee?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by aworhmabel: 4:06pm On Jul 14
This is just my thought though. I might be wrong.

Personally, i think it's best you stick with one NOC, especially if you av 3 or more years of work experience with that NOC and if the NOC aligns with the ongoing category draw (for example if uv had experience as working as an admin rep & transportation manager, Instead of using the NOC for Admin, use that of transportation). Just to be safe though. But make sure uv had enough experience up untill the draw was introduced in 2023. You can add your other work experience after you've gotten an ITA.
Bibitayo2:
Please, how can I know what my primary NOC is?
I am in the pool with 3 different work experiences.

So, I should delete the other two work experiences?

Do you have more than 3 years in the job experience you plan to use as main NOC?
If yes, you can move the others to personal history.
If NO, there’s no restriction on how many NOC u can use especially if you need the max 3 years experience for higher CRS score.
N.B: at least one experience should be continuous for one year and for Category based draw, work experience should be at least 6 months in last 3 years.
Cheers

As candidates in the pool await today's draws I'll like to encourage everyone that has been waiting for days, weeks, months and years to become a permanent resident of Canada. I was also anxiously waiting for my application to be processed all through the period Canada's border was closed in 2021. One evening on February 9, 2022 I walked up to unplug my phone from its charging spot and got an update email from IRCC. I logged into my GcKey account to look up the update and I saw that it was a request for a re-medical examination. I booked an appointment with IOM ikeja and had my medicals done the following week. Encountered some delays getting IOM to upload my results over a week after I underwent the medicals but less than two hours after I received the "result upload" SMS I got another update email from IRCC. I initially thought it was a "medical passed" notification but to my surprise it came along with a passport request email.

I was very excited but somehow became hesitant with the idea of sending my passport to Accra or Cairo. Got more information about the process days after and accepted that it was a norm to send/post travel documents to Accra, Cairo and even London in some cases. I submitted my passport at the DHL lekki 1 and paid the necessary fees. It took one month to get my passport back and I received my processed passport on March 24, 2022. The COPR issued had a validity till February 2023 thus I began to work towards saving more money and moving to Canada in October 2022. Kept my passport + COPR in the box and continued living my life like normal.

However, something happened at my place of work one day. I overheard my boss speaking to someone on the phone without knowing that I was present. He was so angry and said so many negative things about me to my surprise using very bitter words. I could not match his kind words to me with what I heard. He came up with the work from home policy to reduce staff attrition among the software engineers and was later speaking so bitterly about me for working from home two days a week. I was disappointed and spent that evening looking up CV formats for Canadian software engineers. It wasn't too different from what I had and I applied for 10 software engineering jobs in Ontario via linkedin. I also bought a virtual number which I used on my CV as well as my friend's address who is based in Canada. I made sure I applied for 10 jobs every single day till I was no longer able to cope with the interview requests. I was receiving phone calls from recruiters frequently telling me about one role or the other. One particular hiring manager constantly assured me that he very much wanted me on his team in Ottawa. By week 5 (second week of april). I received my first job offer. I was offered more than I asked for. I negotiated with the firm to allow me resume after one month as they wanted me to resume in two weeks. My friend advised me against negotiating a late resumption but what he didnt know was that I was dealing with the reality of having to make another move leaving behind elderly parents. My mum turned 60 in February and retired. By week 7 I got a second offer which I turned down. The organization told me they had another orientation session for the week starting may 23rd 2022 but for their US office hence if I miss the orientation session for the Toronto office I'll have to attend the orientation session at their Detroit office. Luckily I had a B1/B2 US visa and I accepted to have my orientation at the Detroit office.

By May 10th it occurred to me that I had only 14 days to resume at a new job and leave my family/friends. I bought a ticket on travelstart (abuja - paris - detroit - toronto - paris - abuja). The ticket was cheaper flying from Abuja as opposed to flying from Lagos. The night before I left I was in the office till 10pm handing over my projects to a junior colleague. I woke up at 3am on that faithful day, removed the battery of my car and covered the car before packing my belongings in two suitcases. I headed for Abuja in the morning and flew out to Detroit later that day. The ride to the airport from my apartment was a sad and lonely one. I did not wake my sister up to say goodbye because I was sad to be moving away from a life I was so used to. Arrived Detroit the following day and began to meet some of my new colleagues virtually and physically. At the end of the program I flew to toronto on Endeavour air. Flight time was 35 minutes. My old neighbor picked me up from the airport and took me to his house where I stayed for about three weeks. My very close friend who normally stays with me each time he visited lagos disappointed me by asking me to pay him $1000 monthly to stay in his house when I was only looking for a place to stay for three weeks. Glad an old neighbor came to my aid.

I struggled with the food for the first few days but I must say that looking back now I believe I made the best decision moving to Canada at this phase of my life. I believe and pray that I will make good use of my time here and learn as much as I can. I earned my first salary 8 days after landing here and luckily my employer asked for the flight receipts for my orientation trip to Detroit. I submitted my entire itinerary because I bought all legs of flight in one booking from travelstart. They told me they were expecting a Toronto to Detroit to Toronto ticket but I told them I was in Nigeria when the job offer came and the "people and culture" personnel said it was fine. I was refunded the full cost of my ticket as they had no way of separating the flight legs and determining how much each leg would have cost. Proof of funds became irrelevant as I earned my salary in day 8 and have been earning every two weeks since then. My biggest worry was getting a job and having enough money to fund my early months which I'm glad I have been able to cope with.

On the downside I have not been able to rent an apartment since arriving here in May 2022. Relying on long term air bnb bookings due to lack of credit history, low credit score (696) and the race factor. I am still building my credit score and positive that one of my rental applications will be accepted before the end of September. In addition IRCC is still yet to ship my PR card hence I am unable to travel out of Canada and return without the PR card. I have been calling IRCC just like candidates awaiting their PR and visa applications to be processed.

In all I believe my wins are more than my losses and I continue to push for more wins . Great things can indeed happen when we step out of our comfort zones. In addition I hope and pray that everyone out here will have their applications processed with a reasonable timeframe.

Thank you all and wish you a happy ITA and PPR

pls how can i get the canada number from nigeria

its PPR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COME AND SEE WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a long journey and i am grateful that it has finally come to an end. I apologize in advance if its a long read. It all began with Wes application in the December of 2022 and my IELTS just about a week after WES application. It took WES the standard 6 weeks processing plus 2 weeks to get my transcripts sent to WES, totaling 2 months.

On the 1st Feb i was ready to create my EE profile and so i did.
My IELTS was an overall band 7 and WES was a 3 year bachelor degree, putting me at roughly 320 something CRS especially being that my age was not working to my advantage. With this in mind i quickly sought to increase my scores; french was the only option along with redoing my IELTS to max it the second time around, which i knew i was capable of doing (don't come for me my village people, i know my english language skills grin). The reason i didn't do well enough the first time around is because of various factors (but that's a story for another day).

In my state of desperation, i ventured into the idea of going via the study route but i knew carrying my many kids would have been too costly and i think my brain has expired so pulling it off would have proved taxing on my mental health and my pocket. I resolved to abandon that idea after speaking to a friend of a friend in Canada who proved to be pivotal in my journey. She shared with me an email from IRCC promoting the plan to target francophones in the upcoming immigration strategies. I read the email and realized that french was going to be my strategy, not only to increase points but to get the upper hand. By this time, i am already in the pool and looking for a french tutor to reawaken my french language skill as it had been about 10 years since i last took french language courses at Alliance Francaise. I managed to ask around and got a very good french teacher who agreed to do personalized classes/private tutoring to make sure i meet my goal in the short time i had given myself. Soon my teacher was confident in my abilities and encouraged me to make my first attempt. Which i did and didnt do as well as i should have, bringing me back to the drawing board to restrategize; giving emphasis on my weakest points. I fully immersed myself in the language, listening to podcasts, watching movies, listening to french music, (i recommend Lara Fabian and ofcourse Celine Dion). I was once again ready to make an attempt at TEF. I did and the new scores allowed me get a well needed raise to the ranks of CRS 380s. The cutoff at the time was somewhere in the upper 400s and the only thing i could think to do was to redo my IELTS. It was now around October of 2023. I considered the IT course mentioned here a number of times but decided to start with the IELTS retake.

Long story short as i was getting ready to retake my IELTS in Jan 2024, when lo alas, I received an NOI form OINP for the French skilled priority draws. I knew i had to fork out an extra 1500CAD and so i began to amass it. Just as I was working on that, I then received an ITA from the federal french CBD draw thus beginning my journey to PPR. In a nutshell, allow me to share my timeline:

VISA FEE REFUND

Good day all, I applied for the Canadian PR Visa programme for self employed in 2020, using an immigration consultant that shuttles Calgary amd Lagos. She used her addressed for my correspondence with immigration Canada as she handled it on my behalf and every payment I made was routed through jet.
I also duly paid all her fees and every other fee required for my application and those of my dependants.

Long story short, after going for biometrics in 2023 , she called to inform me that my application was denied.
This year, someone informed me that since I had paid the visa fees and I was not given, that the practice is to write to Immigration Canada for a refund.
I called.my consultant and informed he and she said she was not aware of such. After much talk over some days, she reluctantly agreed to write the letter requesting for my refund and send me a screen shot of the purolported letter.
However, since then, she has not been forthcoming with any update. She rarely picks my call and if she is gracious enough to pick ot, she will just tell me that there is no news from Immigration Canada.

So I want to ask thos noble house,
1. Are my not entitled to a refund of my visa fees ?
2. If yes, how do I go about it

Advice on this platform is welcome, but also welcome via my email address

Thanks for this. I've done an extensive research on this. It's just for community or hospital pharmacist.
Industrial or those switching careers can use WES
The fee is much considering the last healthcare draw, there were no pharmacists
https://www.canadim.com/news/express-entry-draw-284/amp/

Pharmacist is not part of the healthcare category. The aim is to have your bachelor of pharmacy degree evaluated as a professional degree which gets you same points as a masters degree holder. Then, claim experience as a pharmacy assistant which is part of the occupation in healthcare category.

Hi Dear,

Not trying to discourage you but I'm not sure you will get any nomination with the sales manager role/administrative assistant if u do not

1. Have a sibling residing in a province that does sibling nomination (eg if u av a sibling that has lived in manitoba for over a yr). He or she can nominate you, which gives u an extra 600 points.

2. You might even qualify for the general draw if age is on ur side, ie. If u are under under 30, and have a sibling as a permanent residency holder and also have masters and french with perfect IELTS score. Then ur NOC shouldn't be an issue (i.e sales manger or administrative assistant will be ok)

If both options don't fit ur profile, you might consider going through the trending category draw that canada launched last year (I'm referring to Stem, Agriculture, Transportation, French and Health Care. Try and see if either of the five is workable for you.

Heya,

Yea, you will get an email stating that you have a message and you should log into your profile.

But I've read some cases here when people didn't get emails but got their ITAs when they logged into their express entry profile.

So to be on the safe side, always check ur profile just to be sure instead of waiting for an email.

The general rule has been not to go for upfront medicals since October last year.
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/medical-exams.html
Is there a particular reason you went for one?
You can try calling the centre you did the medicals if they haven't sent it to IRCC to be linked...
Have you tried calling IRCC or sending a webform?

It was a scam right from the beginning. Visa agents would ask you to pay different fees and give you fake letters all for it to end in "your visa application was denied." Just last week, my uncle called me to check the Canadian work visa papers of an iron bender who works on his site, long story short, all his papers were fake and when I called the visa agent to demand for his (the iron bender's) IRCC account details which everyone MUST have when applying for visa to Canada, the scammer visa agent said he was working directly with "the commission". When I asked him to tell me the exact commission, he cut the call and stopped picking.

You have been scammed! It always ends in "your application was denied!"

It has been said several times on Nairaland - "NEVER USE VISA AGENTS! DO THE WHOLE PROCESS YOURSELF!!"

Have you seen a scammer refund money out of the goodness of their hearts?
At the very least you can threaten a licensed consultant by saying you'll report to their licensing body. Who will you report an unlicensed consultant to? He's a lone agent.
IRCC has it in bold letters on their site, that you do due diligence with whomever handles your application.
So in this case who claims responsibility? The owner of the application!

I don't know about the process of getting a refund, but are we even sure the visa agent actually paid the fees to Canada IRCC or she just took the money and gave him fake proof? He basically just gave her money for things that he should have been paying himself.

Thank you

1. Yes you are entitled to getting a refund if your application was truly refused by IRCC themselves. It takes on average 4-8 weeks and is automatic.

2. If the "consultant" truly sent an application on your behalf. For the love of God, get your login details, and the refusal mail or letter. This is especially necessary if you're to apply in the future. Threaten him/her if you have to.

I don't know about the process of getting a refund, but are we even sure the visa agent actually paid the fees to Canada IRCC or she just took the money and gave him fake proof? He basically just gave her money for things that he should have been paying himself.

This is what I'm worried of...
