nothing in particular

i want them to get a feel for entrepreneurship at the minimum

based on their skills/talents

at a point their classmates were buying art that they made so they were making drawings and laminating them. then all of a sudden they stopped

then it turns out there is a market for beads

so we went to trade fair and bought beads and string. they have been selling them. though my son is more active than my daughter on this.

he is much more outgoing and charismatic. i am trying to make my daughter understand that you have to be outgoing to be a successful entrepreneur or even professional

It's bro
85% of the youths in that age bracket are still in school and doing fraud
10% are doing tech and crypto
5% are entrepreneurs
Telling him to go hustle is harsh in our community/economy
There's nothing for him outside than crime, I am not saying he should be begging for crumbs for life but ibi.me would have engaged him enough to know when he should be left alone
Not using an innocent mistake to push him away

There is always a hustle if you don't see yourself as too big

I finished NYSC at 24yrs. I was the first born and realized my parents money should be focused on my younger ones still in Uni

So I entered street to start hustling. I started going to tutorial centers to teach Waec and Jamb lesson. They were paying me N100 per hour, yet transport one way was N30. So I will take bus to and trek back Idimu to Akowonjo.

Meanwhile I had cousins abroad who I could bill but I never did. The only time I asked for money was to help me pay application fee to Yankee school and not even give me the money, I sent him my application login to help pay the school directly

Some guys who were just friends to him were always sending him billing

At 2005 yahoo was already popular, I was one of the first set people in my area to start using internet and the small boys 17 to 22 that time even those who were not well educated were all writing bad English yahoo emails abroad using email extractor in cybercafes but I knew I will get a job or just hustle

Gbam!

Telling a 24 year old to go hustle is never harsh at all. Whether the country hard or soft , a 24 year old is a full grown adult that should find his way .

If such person decides to venture into crime, thatā€™s on him. The long arm of the law should be used to deal with him.

There are so many people who didnā€™t have any uncle to rely on, didnā€™t have affluent parents ,didnā€™t venture into crime and ended up turning out good for themselves . Iā€™m one of such people , so I always find it funny when people make ā€œNigeria is hard ā€œexcuse for people like that guy.

Its when you have options or you think you are too big for some hustle thats where the problem comes from because legit hustle is not glamorous. No be the type money wey you go carry go pop bottle for club or buy Benz from

Everywhere in Nigeria some people don dey do legit hustle from 13yrs, If you reach Ojuelegba/Apogbon/Ikeja by 5am you will met 12yr olds selling things where they must meet a certain quota before going to school and resume after they come back

I remember some stories from my teaching days. When I was in my NYSC village after school when other corpers were doing their drama/ gossip, I had like 2 families in town that I was teaching their kids. One of them a rich Alhaji wanted his son to go to Unimaid for Medicine, I started Teaching him, then I thought of something, went to cyber cafe in town, ordered him a Brochure from University of Manchester to the boys address. and put my name as (In care of). The day that brochure landed, the entire village erupted. The dad sent a car to come pick me from corpers quarters that how a University in UK knew his son and wrote him a letter. That I should get him admission in University of Manchester that the State governor will pay for it.

I now told him prep for UK admission rate is different from prep for WAEC.

From there all the LG chairman, councilor rich people started meeting me that they want their children to go to University of (insert premier league club name) University of Leeds, University of Chelsea, University of Liverpool, University of Arsenal

I finished NYSC the Alhaji was telling me to stay back that he can get me State govt job or FG job using Bauchi or Gombe slot

I doubt it. When I don dey Lagos. My own na to prep. They didn't even have computers to use or internet to contact school. Many in the village never saw a computer. I was their only contact to the school. I guess the buzz died after I left, they tried to get some batch B corpers to help them but those ones didnt know much about internet and getting free brochures from UK uni back then like 90% of corpers didn't know how to.

On the back of that, A corper bought a desktop computer to teach them corel draw and some graphic designs and he also made a killing cos the LG engaged him to train their staff
