Remember the first time I went to Lagos was surprised that there are streets in the old Lagos Surulere, ojota, Ikeja that have never been tared no once ever just plan sand

Growing up in port Harcourt you can't find this anywhere from Diobu to Borokiri to Romumasi

Our people need to start investing and developing their own land, most of the houses in this picture are eyesore, Humans living in these kind of houses will probably have issue with important things like Clean water and Toilet, we need to start telling ourselves some difficult truth..

up till today people are building a bed sitter kind of houses (FACE me I FACE you) in some of the south west state where up to 10 people are sharing a Toilet, in contrast to this, all new buildings that i have seen in the South South (particularly Edo/Delta) are either self contained or Flats, almost all the Houses have Borehole also..

Go to our Villages and you probably won't find a Befitting house there, but Villages in other part of the Country including Edo state spots different beautiful Edifice, if you doubt me please travel to Villages in Edo state to confirm.


these Old dilapidated Houses is nothing to be proud of, they should be phased out gradually and should be eradicated in the long run.


Ps. Ibadan also have one of the best Buildings I have seen in Nigeria, but we need to do more please.

The above videos are from Enugu, which is at same level with Ibadan in terms of being former Regional Capitals.

True that Ibadan started developing early but it went to sleep.

You may say Lagos took the shine off Ibadan but so does Lagos take the shine off other Cities in Nigeria. Imagine if the Igbos for instance had chosen Enugu as their preferred investment hub and not Lagos.

I like Ibadan for its uniqueness from Lagos in terms of Topography and ways of life but a lot of those slums in the centre of town need to be cleaned up. Yes, they are ancestral homes but the state government can gradually pay compensation and redevelop them in phases and in a couple of decades the City will have a more modern look. Ibadan cannot continue to remain the way it is while other Cities are modernizing

Regardless of the places you mentioned, Ibadan is still predominantly a shiithole, there's this weird aura in the atmosphere whenever I am in Ibadan, the city is too old and Dirty. Beggers everywhere, Dirty cabs, old houses for rent, non existent internal roads, building without plannings , poor or no electricity in some areas etc port Harcourt is not perfect but I assure you I live in Port Harcourt and it is miles ahead of Ibadan

nowhere like PHcity, the houses for rent are relatively affordable and new compared to shiitholes like Ibadan, I don't like being away from PHcity for long, PH city is poised to witness an explosive growth in years to come, with increase in IGR and businesses springing up everyday, more money is being made available to government to embark on infrastructural projects, where will states like OSun, Oyo and Ogun get the cash to rival development in Rivers state in years to come.

If you have a lot of money, I'd advise you to invest massively in Real estate in Port Harcourt

You do know these houses are located in some particular part of the city though, like if go to other parts you won't find structures like this, just like someone has pointed out to you.
