But as we can see, the houses in pictures you have put up from google do not have brown roofs There are different colors of roofs. More like the entire pictures were altered to be brownish including the roads. No one is being fooled though.

Look at the picture that you have posted clearly and look at the pictures from the ibadan what the posters are complaining about. The ibadan pictures shots have exclusively ONLY brown roofs as far the the eyes can see.

the complaints are legitimate, across europe, the old houses are re roofed , repainted, to look modern. I brought down the house my father built in the early 1970s and re built a world class duplex in place of it, then i re roofed the houses of my fathers cousins that were bordering that house and these were honestly houses of people I was told are burying charms in the ground for my demise. The residents of ibadan can do better, that is an honest truth. The look of the city will not be reshaped by ghosts, human resources is any places greatest resource.

Our people need to start investing and developing their own land, most of the houses in this picture are eyesore, Humans living in these kind of houses will probably have issue with important things like Clean water and Toilet, we need to start telling ourselves some difficult truth..

up till today people are building a bed sitter kind of houses (FACE me I FACE you) in some of the south west state where up to 10 people are sharing a Toilet, in contrast to this, all new buildings that i have seen in the South South (particularly Edo/Delta) are either self contained or Flats, almost all the Houses have Borehole also..

Go to our Villages and you probably won't find a Befitting house there, but Villages in other part of the Country including Edo state spots different beautiful Edifice, if you doubt me please travel to Villages in Edo state to confirm.


these Old dilapidated Houses is nothing to be proud of, they should be phased out gradually and should be eradicated in the long run.

You evidently don't know Ibadan or it's people. Those houses you see are the ancestral homes of many families. The houses would be kept in good physical condition, they were constructed to code and according to city planning pre-i dependence, even though they look disorganised those who know Ibadan can navigate every house which uniquely have a unique postal code.

Those houses for all intents are sparsely occupied and function as a family office for most families where individuals visit weekly or biweekly as a custom. Speak with any wealthy Ibadan man and they'll point you to their exact house from an aerial view. Oja oba area is the epicenter of indigenous Ibadan and less than 5% of Ibadan.

If you want to see modern residential Ibadan, you'll need to visit Old Bodija, new Bodija, Monatan, Ife road has many new mega estates, general gas down to akobo, Jericho , Bashorun, Ashi, Moniya, challenge, Ring Road , Oluyole Estate tge list goes on.

Regardless of the places you mentioned, Ibadan is still predominantly a shiithole, there's this weird aura in the atmosphere whenever I am in Ibadan, the city is too old and Dirty. Beggers everywhere, Dirty cabs, old houses for rent, non existent internal roads, building without plannings , poor or no electricity in some areas etc port Harcourt is not perfect but I assure you I live in Port Harcourt and it is miles ahead of Ibadan

The size of Ibadan is almost the size of the whole Lagos state. Now kindly state the places you have been in Ibadan that smells badly and dirty as you claim.

Development has nothing to do with size, Nigeria is generally a shiithole but whenever i am in Ibadan, i realise that Nigeria is never going to make it. I don't really know places by their names in Ibadan but generally places i traverse regularly are iwo road, Old and New Bodija, Akobo, sangoo, UI, the adjoining roads along Akala express, ojoo, adjoining road along the road leading to Moniya and other places I can't recall, i don't even want to talk about LGAs outside the 'Ibadan' LGAs.

Houses or buildings along major roads are old and worn out, there's just a feeling you get when you're in Ibadan, almost as though individuals are not investing in the growth of the state, almost everything is old, even in the so called highbrow areas the roads are old and most of them needs to be resurfaced and marked

The other day I was around the agodi area and I passed the government secondary school Ikolaba, I just laughed, for such a structure to be in the heart of the capital, just imagine the state of other secondary schools in far flung LGAs
