Let them keep Braithwaite, they'll learn the hard way. Crystal Palace and Zaha episode about to be repeated.

Big clubs have leanrt their lessons now, no Club will pay ridiculous fees now for unproven average players from Midtable teams.

I don't want another Ronaldo episode all over again in 4 years time when he is about entering his prime. Left for me, the club should have backed out when it became obvious he preferred Madrid unless it was all stories cooked up by the media.
Nah this is a real statement of intent from the club. Madrid felt they can't be challenged once they're interested, but United had other plans, very good optics for the club going forward.

We need to offload Lindelof and/or Maguire and get on more talented defender. DM is a must Casemero needs to move to Saudi to create space, + Fiorentina agreeing to another 1 year loan for Amrabat and obligation to buy him for 5m Euros next season then deal.

Not bad at all. Amrabat can’t be totally useless. He can be an option when the going gets tough and we need to rest players.

Maguire/Lindelof moved on. Same with McTom n Antony.

The goal this window is to raise the floor. So we should be getting rid of players with little to no technicality.

🚨 West Ham are in advanced talks with #mufc over a move for Aaron Wan Bissaka. United are willing to sell Wan-Bissaka this summer and are looking for a fee of over £15m.

This Yoro better be the reincarnate of Varane because we seem to have gone all in on this 18 year old with little experience.

I really hope he fulfils his potential here.

We battled Madrid for Varane when he was in France. I wish we had gotten him then. I hope Yoro is some sort of recompensation for us from the gods of football for losing out on Varane in the time past.

De Ligt, a LB and a technical DM. If we mange to offload players who are not needed, I wouldn't mind if we add a RWF, I don't want to suffer the pain of watching Antony for another season unless Amad will feature prominently.

We got Ferdinand when he was very young for a huge fee. He was a massive talent and he played a huge part in our subsequent success. His replacement was Varane but we didn’t get him. That’s what makes the Yoro deal very crucial.

If we can get the deal over the line, he’s surely going to play a role in future successes.

I remember Sir Alex losing out on Varane to Real. Hopefully we win on this one because I'm always skeptical on young CBs from abroad.

Tbf Rio was like 23 and had played at the semis of the CL so he was pretty much a sure thing at the time. I havent seen anything about Yoro on a big stage to say how good he can be.

United have form for irking Everton in the transfer market, having submitted a joint £28m offer for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini in 2013.

Everton dismissed the offer as "derisory and insulting". United eventually signed only Fellaini on deadline day for £27.5m when he had a release clause for £23.5m earlier that summer.

I'm happy man united won the race because real madrid wanting to sign a young talented defender on cheap fee is ridiculous.

There's no big manism in transfer market, it's either you pay up or you loose out on transfer target.

Simple. Lesson must be learnt ...

Lol you can't back out because of that. I believe Madrid would have solved their CB weakness before that time. They could go for Saliba next summer. Yoro being world class doesn't mean they'll go for him.

If Madrid wants any of Saliba, Odeegard, Garancho, Palmer and any of these top young players in the future, they'll get them. If you like dey run from players wey love Madrid.

I think 19 years is the equivalent of that 23 these days. Players tend to mature real fast these day. Saka is literally 22. Saliba is 23.

Are you saying Yoro is too young for this move?

Granted Rio was an even bigger talent than Yoro but in this age, he comes very close to what we can get in the mould of a Rio profile.

Same with a young Varane, who went to Madrid at 18 himself. I’d say Yoro is more Varane than Ferdy tho

dude should be coming from bench in 1st season, and maybe we keep Varane for one more season but he's hardly fit.. angry
No other CB bar Martinez to be trusted

I think it was a scouting problem which resulted in lack of options

Probably, but I'm in doubt Utd will spend huge again on a CB this TW, maybe if Varane and Lindelof/Maguire left

🎙️Joshua Zirkzee when asked what number he will wear for #mufc:

“It depends on what Højlund will do, he’s the striker who’s already there and he’s got number 11. The number 9 is currently free but I can imagine he’ll want the number 9 as well. So it’ll probably be number 9 or 11 for me.”

Respect 🤝

Varane already left. It’s unsure which one of Lindelof and Maguire will leave - if any of them leave for that matter.

But surely at least one senior figure will aid his transition. And that’s if he doesn’t hit the ground running.

Yoro, Mainoo, Garnacho, Amad and Hojlund. We’ve got 5 talented youngsters who have a really high ceiling. If managed well, they could be world class players in the next 3-5 years aiming for top trophies.

In addition to that, they are surrounded by players who aren’t too far from them in terms of age - Lisandro, ZKZ, Dalot, Antony, Sancho, Onana, Malacia, etc.

The team’s core should improve significantly in the next couple of years at least and team spirit should be really good. If managed well, this group could do really well.
