The government comes from the people.
So Nigeria's setbacks is an indication of the mindsets behind it.
Masses mindset = Politicians' mindset.
Everyone robs his neighbour for greed and blames either their colonial masters or anyone available.

Shame.

If she is a producer and sales cheaper then it's bad market practice

But if she also buys and sales then it's business

How is that a bad thing?

She did her homework, and wants her turnover.
How else are we to allow market forces compete.

The government can simply start importing food items, including the local foods from nearby african countries. It's as simple as that. So that if locally processed foods are too costly, people can go for the imported ones.

You can just imagine!

When we say the retailers are one of the problems we're having in this economic crisis, this is one of the evidence.

One of the major reasons I had to leave Naija..
Many got dark heart. After I had experience of staying in a village where food was more costly than in town..
I just gave up on the whole thing.. sad

I thought in business, you sell according how you bought?

If she bought hers cheaper, then she can sell at a cheaper rate. Or maybe she needed money to solve an issue, so she decided to sell off her garri.

Its her goods, if she want to gain or lose, its her choice..... My opinion though....

Very sad
Most masses are worst than the politicians. Upto ugwu leaves has union in Nigeria expecially Southern Nigeria. The agreed to exploit the their fellow masses.

Nobody is a saint. If you are still among the few people with good heart and you have the means to move out of this country, move now. Nigeria was built on evil and was created for evil people. Leave the country for them(The educated illiterates, The ouright illiterates) Leave the country for them if you want to live a decent, peaceful and a memorable life.

There is no single way you would make Big Money (apart from jackpot, inherited properties, and their likes) in this country without soiling your hands consciously or subconsciously. Let nobody deceive you. Almost everyone is doing evil to each other on daily basis in this country.

I know what i am saying because i make money.

Lmaooo is local crude cheaper than imported cruded? ... Cost of importing crude ( transportation is negligible na)

Crude is crude he won't get local crude cheaper than foreign crude

The problem with Nigeria is the way we look at problems

Fuel at 1350 is less than 1 dollar and compared to everyone around us is very cheap... The issue is Nigerians are too poor

Instead of focusing on making Nigerians rich enough making minimum of 5000 dollars yearly on average

We focus on bringing price down which is impossible unless u subsidize

I love this perspective

When I saw the headline I knew it will be among the Yorubas, they are the worst when it comes to these price hiking within market, I have seen where they closed barber shops or stopping pepper sellers from selling below association price, this is not even now I mean far back GEJ's time....

This has nothing to do with retailers as most people are commenting here, I noticed it is just the Yoruba way of their market and business, that is why some of them hate Igbo and Hausa traders because those ones allow competition within themselves..
So Igbo's don't hike price abi?

As much as I condemn this unwholesome hike in food prides, we must understand all these traders have a union.is it trade association or something? They are expected to maintain a uniform price.

I've said this many things. Something is truly wrong with us as a people. Until Nigerians attend therapy, we will never heal. We are damaged. Every time I drive, I see folks desperate to get in front of my vehicle as if being one vehicle ahead increases prosperity. It is just another way to demonstrate oppression. We don't even know it, because we are too damaged to realize we oppress one another. I just let the mad people go. Same with getting on the planes...they rush as if its not the same plane everyone will get on. I have my seat, you have mine...you check in first, the worst that can happen is...I use a different overhead cabin space. Its a reflection of low self esteem. Something is truly wrong with us.

We suppose get mercy for one another not being extremely greedy like this!

Blame the government

In other climes, the government controls price using subsidy to farmers measures, creating government-controlled retail outlets as well boarder controls to crash prices of goods for the common man but here they don't care

what's the difference between these women and Dangote? They are all capitalists who takes advantage of the people in a drive to make more profits, the onus is on the government to protect the citizen's interest.

10 Peter Obis put together cannot solve an inch of Nigeria’s problems. The black man has a serious problem. Our only redemption is to be recolonized, preferably, by China.

The Chinese and Indians will run Nigeria, like North Korea: no migration outside the country, and forced labour in factories and farms, including production targets.

I hope by then , we would learn to love ourselves.
I hope what I said never happens, before we repent of our evil deeds. Amin

Theraphy, Right Education And Thorough Reorientation.

90% of typical nigerians starting from their president down to the youngest youth can't live and function in a sane society.

A lot of them are only fit to reside in psychiatric facilities.
