Thanks for making me laugh so hard.
Some of their delicacies are indeed horrendous.

I don’t know why Ghana people like putting egg in everything.
I doubt if the one given to the Asian was prepared by a Ghanaian . Ghana egusi soup is almost watery not thick ,and that's how they prefer it.

ok , I understand now. The reason most of you here are against eggs in egusi soup is due to superstitious belief you have about using eggs.

You're wired by superstition beliefs about eggs in egusi soup. Lots of Nigerians who know the health benefits of having eggs in their meal are using it in their soups or stew .I know because I was born in Nigeria and grew up here .

You are missing the point. We know the health benefits of egg

We are only familiar with combinations like

Rice n egg
Noodles n egg
Yam n egg
Bread n egg
Plantain n egg

But swallow n egg......e no enter

Our forefathers ate swallow with bush meat/ any meat or fish in the sea. We grew up and got wired that way

Thats absolutely correct..

uote author=cococandy post=131006730]Asian dishes have similar flavor profiles to African dishes.

When you’re a new migrant to an area with limited African food, Asian food will usually be the next best thing until you can find satisfactory African food.

So I’m not surprised he enjoyed it [/quote]

Maybe your own stomach.

The Asian didn't report any stomach upset after eating it nor
found it strange having an egg added to it But nearly everyone here on this thread is saying it's wrong to add eggs to egusi soup without providing any valid health reason why it's a wrong combination.

Most Nigerians who reject eggs in egusi soup are from parts of the country where it's added to it as sacrificed to ancestors.

You're not used to it doesn't mean it's wrong to add eggs to egusi soup if you want to. I can only listen to you if you mention the health disadvantages of adding eggs to it.

The egusi soup given to the Asian also contained meats and fish. But you're you all ignoring that to focus only on the egg as if that's the only thing it contains.

Nigerians from the south south have no qualms in adding eggs to egusi soups.

Which one be hypocrisy? Since I was born I have never seen a Nigerian eating Equis that the protein inside it is an egg, have you seen? Why bring in hypocrisy when the probability of what they talk about is closer to 1 than 0.
