Ahead of the planned nationwide protest in Nigeria over economic hardship, Minister of Works David Umahi has said that the South-East zone of Nigeria would not be part of any protest against President Bola Tinubu.https://news360ng.com/southeast-wont-participate-in-protest-against-tinubu-administration-says-umahi/ 12 Likes 1 Share

Umahi is speaking for himself and also from the position of being a member of the current calamitous Tinubu regime. Umahi, no matter his position and status, doesn't have the authority to speak for the south east, and he knows this very fact. 232 Likes 21 Shares |

Umahi cannot speak for the SE because he is not rated at all just like the gutter cleaner in Lagos. We in the SE won't join the protest, not because of what APC members are saying, but because we don't want to join. We warned against the calamity that was imminent but were ignored. We are no longer complaining. 185 Likes 17 Shares |

If Igbos don't learn from the past experience (1966 till date) they'll never learn anything. A Niger deltan by name Kaduna Nzeogwu from Okpanam in Delta state led the 1966 coup but it was tag Igbo coup. The recent one, Endsars protest was tag Igbo protest. Pls Igbos don't protest against Tinubu if not some mischief makers will tag it Igbo protest to topple Tinubu government because Obi lost. 95 Likes 9 Shares |

He is playing tribal cards for his own grave interest, I think he should allow the South East to decide what is good for them, with these scorching hunger how much of his slashed money did he share with his starving people? And now he is behaving as if he loves them 18 Likes |

Umahi should shut up and face the worst government ever which he is part of. We already decided not to protest not because we can't but becauae we already protested during election but some tribalists thought we were joking. Now is their turn to protest or we all will continue to enjoy the Balablu. In a sane clime people like Umahi ought to have resigned from this incompetent Bulaba to save his future carrier. 104 Likes 4 Shares |

Useless statement. They hate dissenting voices. If they are not eating from this government, the question is, would they not complain? Is the country normal as this? Those asking not to protest, ask what kind of standard of living they have at the moment... Protest might not be the best solution, but someday, saturation point will happen. The only thing necessary for evil to continue is when good people do nothing. The state has been captured. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

Bobloco:He's speaking for himself, but is that not the sentiment across the south east? You don't want to protest, your politicians are saying you won't protest knowing how docile your people are, you're coming to say he doesn't speak for South East, is it Northerners that made him governor for 8 years? 8 Likes 2 Shares |

We are not protesting because sell outs like Umahi said so or because Tinubu is doing a marvelous job. We are not protesting because we told Nigerians from the beginning that the fraud in Aso Rock has nothing to offer and also we are tired of being made a scapegoat which they have started already. Northern groups are planning to protest and Ronu rascals are here spitting saliva on Igbos instead of facing the people that called for the protest. 67 Likes 6 Shares |

The Southeast will not join the protest not because Tinubu's government is doing well - far from it! But because the impending protest is already being given a tribal colouration (of course championed by Reno Omokri, doing what he knows best). Now, the implication of this is that, even while they are not performing, subsequent administrations will tow this path of tribalism to divide the populace the more, which will unfortunately be a win situation for our politicians. 30 Likes 3 Shares |

Oga face front! We Ndi Igbo no send Tinubu and him APC. We've done ours by forewarning Nigerians not to elect the failure but since they remained recalcitrant, let us all enjoy the resultant effect. We are too preoccupied with better things to waste nonsense time in the name of a useless protest. 41 Likes 1 Share |

They should stop pretending as if they are the ones persuading South East not to join protests, the reality is that people in the South East always weigh their actions and don't jump on the bandwagon. We are not even looking at Tinubu as the only cause of the wahala in the country, we would join the protest if Buhari is added because he was the precursor to the destabilisation of the economy and we have not forgotten like others focusing only on Tinubu because he is not from their tribe or religion 24 Likes 2 Shares |
