Does the constitution stop anyone under 18, from being admitted into tertiary institutions, misplaced priority.
Some People will rush here to talk about Lamine Yamal but are quik to forget that his was an exceptional case

Generally, how many footballers have the privilege to rep their Senior team in any Major comp at 18, even Messi wasnt called up till 2006 and he wasnt under-18 then

I think capping this at 16years is better because children of this generation are getting matured intellectually before age18 unlike before.

That’s dumb Dumb Dumb .
Why are putting a stumbling blocks on under 18. Like how many are they in numbers . That prodigy will travel abroad and add value in US instead of at home.

Are there job to employ these kids ? I think child labour activists should step in . There are no vocational training centers for these kids to go to . Next the ever predatory work places will employ them or various vices set in . This is not a well thought through policy .

Besides how many people get admission yearly ? The number of students that sit at home for 2-4 years before getting admission is enough on its own . Imagine a brilliant child can’t go to university unless he/she is 18. The parents get to handle idle teenagers while trying to survive Tinubu’s economy

that's how it should be. Back in those days, 18yrs was the right age. You leave secondary school at 17yrs, primary school at 11yrs and nursery school at 6yrs
Nonsense. That's why cultism don finis una schools. Be admitting experienced babalawos and thinking that you are doing others. Na yourself you dey do.

What's really the point of this policy? For a country that has the HIGHEST number of out of school children in the world. Don't we have priorities? Just change the name APC to the Taliban FFS

It is misplaced priorities. It is not just the Nigerian politicians that are bereft of ideas, sometimes even the so called academics are no better. ''Underage'' admissions are not what should be too encouraged, but that doesn't mean we should go as far as legislating against or even punishing it

There are many "exceptional cases" who can be in university before they turn 18. Most top scorers in UTME are below 18. Hustle hard to send your kids to school in Ghana or Togo. This is a terrible idea.

Even though I don't have hope in this government but can't fault this.

Stop rushing children into adulthood, it's irresponsible

In the so called saner climes, what is the age benchmark for University entry?

Now the govt must make sure no more strikes and 4 years = 4 years.

I love this! This is the main reason we rush children because of the epileptic nature of the federal government's own universities.

My daughter will be done with senior secondary by the time she is 16 years old. We have agreed that she will use the two years to learn a tangible skill.

Name the "saner clime" countries where 16 year olds are barred from university.
