I can never take her seriously as an assassin.
She just doesn't have it.

The Hunt For Red October (1990),....7.5/10

Great espionage thriller movie about the defection of a Soviet ballistic nuclear submarine by it's Captain, Marko Ramius. Nice seeing Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin team up.

Nice movie but some of the sequences portraying US subs easily sneaking behind damn quiet and highly advanced Soviet subs raised a few chuckles. grin Really entertaining watch nonetheless and the naval warfare was a joy. Rarely one sees such naval battles these days except land and air warfare already over beaten in Hollywood.

Each time I feel like tuning into the Cosmic Frequency; I just blast the “Hymn To Red October by Basil Poledouris” on my sound system for an hour non stop.

It's better to watch 3 if them at once like this sef instead of waiting for months like I did.. they tied in to past DC animations too with this part 3. I enjoyed it.

Broo...the way i have lost interest in new movies ehn, i have seen 3 from this list. I just have this uncanny believe that no new movie out this year can wow me, so it makes me so lazy to cop them.

Same here bro. Movie-wise, 2024 has been poor so far. Someone recently asked me to recommend new movies for him; I was mute

Those w@nkers just tryna be weird and so auteur. Whereas they're pretentious. I Saw The TV Glow isn't even my problem. How TF did Love Lies Bleeding get into that list. Recently I've stopped taking listings like this from IndieWire seriously. They usually push some weird agendas against some films and TV shows. Their listings are mostly relevant for years past.

With their pretentious support for indie films, how come they don't have Late Night With The Devil there??

As in. These are the lot we are supposed to look to for reviews on movies to see abi? 😅😩. Agenda no gree let them see road.

Anyway, it's half of the year and look at the state of said list of the best films so far this year 😩😩 totally appalling, and i thought 2023 was down bad!... Hollywood has well and truly peaked...

I have mentally clocked out of seeing any new flick since like June...i have neither the attention span nor the spare effort to waste on these barrage of bottom barrel flicks that flocks out each week.

Lol even reviews for new films on here, for like 5 to 10 pages back scarce like mad, it's mainly oldies. If you even see review for a new flick, it is usually poor.

IndieWire is the worst of them all.... So I rarely take their shít seriously no more.
IndieWire that refused to put Game of Thrones in their best 20 TV shows of all time. Na there I know say na agenda. That show sef has been in the top three of that list for years in that same publication before the shitty last two seasons.
Na that time I really noticed their propaganda as bias.

Presently 2023 is looking like a really good year in comparison to 2024. But I think late 2024 will still come good just as the great movies of last year came at the tail end. But I feel 2025 will be a major turnaround. The only side of the industry not suffering a dearth of quality is the TV series spectrum. There's not been a lack of quality and big budget affair.

I just download some of the new flicks and keep. I rarely watch sef. TV shows has been my jam this year. The only motivation to watch some of the films is to have an actual understanding of the state of cinema especially leading to awards season.

Sadly one of the few movies I think will inevitably flop at the box office.

Virtually zero marketing and awareness.

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by abduleez1(m): 8:03pm On Jul 18
Definitely the man of the moment and he looks to stir Universal's new film TWISTERS into another success.

Hollywood experts have been screaming the death of cinema at the box office for months especially with how most movies had flopped and with Furiosa and The Fall Guy suffering same fate. This summer seems to have been saved by animation with two powerhouse franchise.

These two movies have carried this summer box office so far..... Just before passing the torch over to TWISTERS and DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE.

What's bonkers about Inside Out 2 has been it's Mexico box office numbers. It's an overperformer and a record grosser for any pic in that country.
It even out grossing the UK and Brazil is crazy.

One thing for sure, Latinos really loved this movie.

Damn, this thing is too interesting and looks super fun.

WB's next blockbuster and this sure looks like it'll print money. Got enough star power both old and young and gather enough bütt$ in seats. Seeing Monica Bellucci is a treat. 😏😉

I wouldn't mind watching this in a cinema. grin

Marketing or not, one can easily tell from the trailer that it's going to be a terrible movie.

Yep. One of the poorest trailers I've seen.

Pains me seeing Bill Skarsgard in such shitty movies. He should be highly sought after for an actor with his qualities.

First inside out made 800 million plus and despicable me franchise with the minions spinoff have all made from 900 million and above save the first one. Their box office success at this point is basically a norm no surprises there.
Mad max while a solid flick seems not to be a money spinner, the first one, fury road barely made back its budget
