Day Of Rage Protest: Sowore Releases 14 Key Demands From Tinubu by MasterJayJay: 3:06pm On Jul 19
The demands come ahead of the planned 'Days of Rage' protests, scheduled to take place from late July to August 2024.

Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow, has released a list of 14 demands from Nigerians to President Bola Tinubu's administration, aimed at addressing the country's governance challenges.

The demands, published on Sowore's social media account, are a result of inputs from Nigerians participating in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign. The demands come ahead of the planned 'Days of Rage' protests, scheduled to take place from late July to August 2024.

He said, “So far, these are the commonest but fundamental demands from those who have responded to pursuing a general set of DEMANDs to #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria for the Days of Rage revolt scheduled for the end of July until August 2024.”

According to Sowore, the 14 demands are:

1. Scrap the 1999 Constitution and replace it with a People-made CONSTITUTION for the Federal Republic of Nigeria through a Sovereign National Conference to be immediately followed by a National Referendum.

“2. Toss the Senate arm of the Nigerian Legislative System, keep the House of Representatives (HOR), and make lawmaking a part-time endeavour.

“3. Pay Nigerian Workers a minimum wage of nothing less than N250,000 monthly.

“4. Invest heavily in education and give Nigerian students grants, not loans. Aggressively pursue free and compulsory education for children across Nigeria.

“5. Release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally and demilitarize the South East.

“6. Renationalise publicly owned enterprises sold to government officials and cronies.

“7. Reinstate a corruption-free subsidy regime to reduce hunger, starvation and multidimensional poverty.

“8. Probe past and present Nigerian leaders who have looted the treasury, recover their loot, and deposit it in a special account to fund education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

“9. Restructuring of Nigeria to accommodate Nigeria’s diversity, resource control, decentralisation and regional development.

“10. Reforms of Security Agencies to stop continuous human rights violations and duplication of security agencies and enhance the physical security of Nigerian citizens.

“11. Establish a Special Energy Fund immediately to drive massive, corruption-free power sector development.

“12. Immediate Reconstitution of the Nigerian Electoral Body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove corrupt individuals and partisan hacks appointed to manipulate elections.

“13. Massive investment in public works and industrialisation will help employ Nigeria’s teeming youths.

“14. Massive shake-up in the Nigerian judiciary to remove cabals of corrupt generations of judges and judicial officers that continue denying everyday citizens access to real justice.”

Sowore has declared the 'Days of Rage' protests to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the 2019 #RevolutionNow demonstration. He is urging nationwide mobilisation and calling for people to join the movement.

Days of Rage protest - business owners should prepare for looting and arson.

No need for rage. Make we just divide the country peacefully will be the best option.

Protest is not by state of origin....one can decide to join protest in his state of residence or place of residence. You guys brings in tribe and division in everything. When Tinubu and Soyinka plus Buhari was protesting did you ask them to go back to their states and protest?

So you are just realizing that after over 50 years when Igbos told you people and left peacefully only to wage war against them to bring them back...

I have said this earlier, you guys might beg to divide this country at some point which I'm already seeing in bits...

According to the person who said Sowore is unrealistic with his demands. Was NLC realistic with their demands?!

TRUST ME! NOTHING WILL HAPPEN!!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AS FAR AS THIS PARTICULAR GOVERNMENT IS CONCERNED WHICH HAS SHOWN TREMENDOUS CAPABILITY TO QUENCH ANY KIND OF INCITEMENT BEFORE IT MANIFEST INTO TERROR.

THE ONLY THING THAT WILL HAPPEN IS PROSPERITY AFTER THE FIRST HALF OF TINUBU'S TENURE ESPECIALLY THE LAST QUARTER. BECAUSE THAT'S ALL THAT HE WILL NEED TO SHOW TO GET REELECTED.

GAINS AFTER PAINS.

Do I need to remind you that if not for Azikiwe, an Ibo man, we would not have a country called Nigeria today. Not once, but twice, did he ensure that Nigeria remained one Nigeria.

- 1st was via debating for the non inclusion of the seperation clause.
- 2nd was when Ahmadu Bello threatened to pull the north away from Nigeria if it's party is not allowed to form a government in the 1st republic.
- Bonus: Azikiwe was even against Biafria war and from London, he was going after foreign power like France to stop funding Ojukwu's rebels.
- If ibos had left alone, no one would drag you back, but you forced minorities into you Biafria.

Since you agreed Azikiwe was against Biafra which majority of the Igbos fought for and even lost about 3 million of their people in the course, how do you want to convince me and Igbos that the same Azikiwe made the secession clause decision on behalf of the same Igbos he fought against for trying to leave Nigeria?

We are going to protest in Abia.

Our own demand is very simple, Otti pay 70k minimum wage or region.

How can you pay workers 15k minimum wage and sleep at night? Otti is a goner.

Sowore wan take over this one but it will end up as a political protest. For me, Sowore is still surprised that the attention that should have gone to him went to Obi and it pained him so much from the way he spoke. Now, knowing fully well who Sowore is, how are we sure this is not a sponsored protest to manage the anger and hunger in the land Give small power to an opposition you can control then crush them when it is time because you know they are weak and buyable. I don't trust any politician, they all like to control the narrative so I cannot call this genuine. This is why they are afraid of another Endsars because deep down, they knew it was genuine and difficult to point to one person as the convener or leader they will buy out. This is what Kenyan youths learned that if you compromise, you go collect. I wrote on another thread that even though I don't agree with Ndume since he wasn't that vocal during Buhari's time, I am happy it is one of them telling the President to watch out. We should also focus on governors, most of them are irresponsible, that is why everytime it is always the President.

Again, we must not forget that if Obi or Atiiku were to call for a revolution, the treatment and reaction will never be the same. Obi has not said anything but it is Obidients that are causing chaos and problems abi? Now, Sowore is about to call for revolution, let's ignore him as a former presidential candidate. Clowns .Sowore, I am sorry you are heavily compromised here.
