Fret not bro... I'd still watch just to see what it is and the novel scenario of having a well budgeted TV show set in the sword and sandals genre. We haven't gotten that since ages (Spartacus)

This November/December we can have a proper meal in GLADIATOR II.

SPOILERS!!!! Kimiko finally talked. Butcher finally went berserk killing my beautiful Victoria Neuman. Hope the final season would be pure flames. None of that first 6 episodes boring shitttt.

I think the entire final season will be crazy...
Because there are many supes alive and working with Homelander right now...

Man how I wish we can get a LEGEND OF THE SEEKER remake. Sorely missed the sorcery with Zeddicus Zul Zorander and Mord Siths and Mother Confessor shït. Damn, Richard Cipher and Lord Rahl and Kara. Omo we really had good shit in that fantasy adventure back then.
I don't want a Merlin remake (before someone reminds me of that). 😤

Now thinking about it, I remember how the BBC cancelled ATLANTIS. 😭 Man, those ancient Rome/Greece stories was my jam. That's why I appreciate BLOOD OF ZEUS the more but fvvking netflix will definitely take two whole years just to give you a season of animation.

The Boys S4 - 6/10
Bad writing and more gore
How did Starlight get into the White House vault they were trying to escape with a tight password they were trying to escape even though Starlight was a fugitive who beat up a US citizen on national TV - make it make sense.
And what's going on - Butcher just ripped Neuman right in front of her daughter and Neuman didn't try to blow up someone's head 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️- took a full 7 seconds before he ripped her up and she did nothing - wtf! As strong as he is.
That's the problem with the boys - they just rushed everything at the last minute- for what??
Also, with the political conflict in the US now - this show came at a really bad time tbvh - the writers who did a bad job trying to stoke the Jan 6 fire in an election year - firecracker saying 'Make America Strong Again' is definitely election interference at this point🤷🏽‍♂️ trying to make people believe the orange man is trying to send his political opponents to concentration camps.
The only thing that actually made sense this episode is Ashley - her taking Gen V makes a lot of sense simply because she would die anyway - better die a supe

I watched the scene where Starlight got into the vault and was like wtf??
No way they let her in there knowing there's an assassin trying to kill the President Elect...

When asked how she found them, she said she used "Find my phone" grin

lol, wise thing to do, i also avoid this thread whenever a popular episode everyone is following drops. Here and Twitter. As for season 5 they better come correct and keep up with the momentum of this last episode.

My number one wish for season 5 the boys is to see Jared Padalecky. Supernatural lovers would understand.

Mr and Mrs Smith.......8/10

A wholesome entertaining watch. Great action romance comedy. Talk about great onscreen connection — Maya Erskine and Donald Grover delivered in spades. Decent writing and storytelling but the acting elevated a simple and basic story with great comedy or satire to boot.

Really enjoyed this. Never thought I'd like it this much until prodded by the Emmys nom. 😅

I pray Netflix won't slash the show o the story still has a long way to go it's very interesting can say it's better than this new season of hotd
I hope they rethink their decision too.
The way the season 3 ended, gave room for more seasons with lots of battles.

I'm actually talking about the response on nairaland here not elsewhere.

You might be right tho. There's many TV shows I currently watch that I rarely talk about and they're great. Same with a few movies I watch where I only drop reviews weeks after watching.

Still, it's not really an excuse. I've seen way smaller shows and even brand new TV shows gain prominence over here. Simply means the main contributors on here don't care much about the show. Especially judging from the fact that it's a recurring show and not new, so it already has a built in audience. Moreso coming from an already established bigger franchise.

It's discourse here is too muted. Just reviews or ratings and no discussion about happenings in it.
Héll, I've seen discourse about way obscure shows like Ripley, Presumed Innocent, being talked about here. And they're new shows.

I've downloaded the first 6 episodes but yet to start watching. So I'm quite surprised I haven't been seeing spoilers yet.

Even with the NL seemingly limited attention, I'd say it's arguably the same elsewhere on Twitter. And I reckon I'm very big on Film Twitter news and I've rarely seen this show come up just once.
I get it but if you want to really see how big a show is or how much targeted audience it has, i think Facebook is your best bet.
That's where you see pages, groups on the show and discussions about it.
Places like Twitter follows trends and hype or PR.
Any series or movies with the most PR are what trends on Twitter That's why i feel Facebook it's more natural when it comes to targeted audience to know if people actually follows a show.

And secondly, like it's been said before, shows that follows the weekly episodes releases tends to get more talking points too especially here in nairaland and elsewhere, more than shows that drops all episodes at once.

For example there are some shows that ain't being talked about here in this thread but go to Facebook and you will be surprised as to the numbers of groups and pages with more than 100 thousands members discussing about the show.

Bros, this one you're saying doesn't really count.

In fact, Film Twitter is way bigger than anything Facebook can come up with as a metric for actually realistically gauging audience interest. If you can't make it in Film Twitter discourse or Reddit, then bruh, you're really all that.
Rarely anyone takes FB seriously as a hub for aggregating film industry.

Yep, I know that shows released weekly gains more momentum than shows dropped at once. It's a fact. What you're missing is, this show Vikings: Valhalla in particular was released few days ago and it's actually rarely talked about even in its debut week. What does that tell you?

All this one about Facebook you no really get wetin you wan tell me wey I no know about. I was once a hardcore Facebook fan and a member in various film fan pages. So I know how it works.
That's basically fans of a franchise banding together and talking about their fave shows or movies. What do you you expect them to be discussing in the first place?
I'm talking about general audience. Random discussions from people in the industry without much alliance to a particular fandom talking about projects in general. And that has not been the case for Vikings: Valhalla. The few talks I saw about it are from actually fans of it.

And Film Twitter is the actual defacto hub to gauge audience interest as well as fans reactions to a project, whether we like it or not. There's basically no movie or TV show that doesn't have a fan on Twitter. They also have big fan pages with thousands of followers to hype and follow each projects. So it's not like it's no different from the Facebook example you're bringing. Film Twitter is the father of Facebook in anything film industry. No arguments about that.
How many people apart from 50 yo's that uses FB this days sef.

And talking about Vikings Valhalla show, this one doesn't have an excuse here cos it's a spinoff to a hugely popular and followed show — VIKINGS. So it already has a huge fandom. Cos I was also one at the time. So it doesn't have an excuse having this "muted" response to TV shows fans worldwide.

Being a big Netflix show, it's even harder for it to just disappear in the discourse just like that. VIKINGS was the next best thing after GAME OF THRONES in it's prime. So it's anomalous for a spinoff to be this quiet.

If you want to bring excuses for it being released at once. There's shows like that that has released this year and have some level of significant engagement. FALLOUT na dis year. THE LAST AIRBENDER by the same Netflix.

So judging by some of these points, it's safe to say, audiences don't really care about this new iteration.

well i understand what you are saying, my point is that Facebook active users are more like conservative in nature than Twitter active users so they are not really loud like that when it comes to shows and movies, you will think they are not there but they are there in their millions.
Film twitter is big no doubt but if you do your research you will find out that official pages of most series has more Facebook engagements than their pages on Twitter.

everything was a setup for the final season

This is why The Boys S4 is the weakest season yet

Too many slow burn, filler episodes and irrelevant sub-plots.

The finale was great.

But I need the final season to be a banger from start to finish.

None of these slow set up and filler sub-plots, we're done with all that.
