Beyond the euphoria of being able to pay minimum wage, Govt needs to combat the real problem, which is rising inflation.
Else, very soon there would be renewed agitation for another new minimum wage.
What else?

How does wage award amount equate absolute minimum wage increase, as if everyone is working at level 1. In fact I think the minimum worker’s level is level 4, and that 25k will translate to maybe equivalent 10k increase in minimum wage. Now consider someone at level 14, that’s probably equivalent of 2k increase in minimum wage.
These Seyi and his people don’t even rate the masses with their propaganda.

Will the civil servants receive the minimum wage in this July salary? Will the state agree to pay their civil servants for this month of July the already implemented minimum wage or they will give stories and slash it later
They can't pay until it becomes law!
Can your company pay the minimum wage?

The only way to combat rising inflation is if u go back to farm

Agriculture is one of the ways.
Also...
-expand exports
-encourage SME's
-fight insecurity
-resolve farmers/Herdsmen conflicts
-fight corruption
-reduce cost of governance
-sound economic policies
-discourage urban drift
-revamp Educational system & make it more relevant to societal needs.
...
...

Not easy, but that's the way to go.

No.
If some industries are sited in rural areas + provision of basic amenities /infrastructures like access roads, power supply, security etc, many people will stay back in rural areas to earn a living there.

If it is ‘No Stress’ for Makonde to pay N70k as he claims, he should understand that the word ‘Minimum’ gives All Governors and even the central Govt the latitude to pay more, where they can afford to.
They do not all have to go for the minimum. Minimum means MINIMUM.
Regardless of the new Law, any State Govt, Parastatal or organisation is at liberty to elect to adopt even N250k as its minimum, if it so chooses and can afford it! cool cool
