Igbos are the poorest of the 3 major ethnic groups. Out of the 5 richest Nigerians, 2 are Northerners, 3 are Yorubas, no Igbo.

The number of billionaires a tribe has is not a good barometer of their wealth.

The Hausas have 2 slots, yet they are the impoverished capital of Nigeria.

I worked as the admin manager of a private security company. I also handled recruitment.

Anambrans were the fewest applicants for the 7 years I was there, I doubt up to 10 from that state applied.

I haven't been to Igbo land but I've heard glowing stories of their cities.

People who have traveled down to the East speak of

Are they all brilliantly clueless people who fail to understand that charity begins from home
You're a blithering idiot.

Apart from Lagos built with oil money and developed by a combination of other tribes mostly Igbos, name one state in the dustbin region of sad waste that is as developed as any state in the south east

What state was not built with oil money?
Mention one!

I have been to Enugu and Ibadan alone is better developed.
I know you will counter this by showing pictures from Beere and Ojee, but that is fine.

But if the Sad Waste is as horrible as you claim, why are your brothers rushing down there everyday?

I just watched Dangote say 70% of Oil consumption is in that 'Sad Waste'

70 percent!

If that is not an important piece of information for you, then I cannot help you.

STFU with your lies, is it Igbo land that I've been to several times? The 'one city" states where only the state capital is developed? Is it the Igbo forest towns where you people still live in the forest that you want to compare to Yoruba cities, south west states can have as many as 8 cities under one state, with all amenities and infrastructures. Your kinsmen are all over the south west and they can attest to this, I am a surveyor so I have seen your land and because you people just started building your towns doesn't give you the audacity to insult your seniors in civilization. Bring it on, shior

Do you know that SE is the only region in Nigerian that does not have a cosmopolitan city. The reason is because they are very hostile and unaccommodating people that strangers don't like to settle in their region.

No state in the south east was built with oil money, I repeat no state.

Btw why are you moron_s always quick to make example with lagos? Because it's the only state that benefited by federal might, built and developed by collective effort and this answers your dangote question. Or why didn't he build the refinery in any other yaroba state since every where in your region flows with milk and honey?

Why not mention other wasted states like hoegun, hoyo, hondo, hosun and hekiti states??

Mention any sad western state that is more developed than the south east and stop spitting everywhere with your jargons

You lousy loudmouths are so delusional to think that your dirty sad waste is better than other regions.

Igbos are naturally adventurous and love to travel that's why we are in every part of the world from the most viable and developed to the least, unlike you sophisticated moro.ns who will sit in your shanties and slums and think that the south east is as backward as your ewedu shot out region

Your view about my write up is well understood. You deem it hypocritical, no offense taken. I am just airing my opinion about how I see tribalism. We all are at fault. I am trying to propose a remedy which is for us as a country to go back to ground zero, back to a state of healthy competition without the bitterness and the hatred which has been brought about by spiteful comments about superiority. Like it or not, it is talk about superiority that brings out the worst out of us all. The only thing talks about superiority has elicited is the desire to prove the other party wrong, the desire to subdue and with it spite, hatred and rivalry. When talks about equity, equality and unity is brought to the fore, then and only then can the nation move forward.

TotoIsGud4boy:

You make valid points but sadly it’s not conceivable in reality, because you’re trying to fight human nature. Humans will always compete for resources and status. We evolved to have our identity and existence tied to belong to a group ( “Tribe”). It’s ingrained in our DNA. What you’re asking for is a more civilized society (equity, equality and unity) that is more conceivable (using other methods cos even western society still have to deal with racism/nepotism).

Tribalism can never be completely erased from an inter-tribal society like Nigeria especially when it is used as a power tool by the elites.

There is no tribalism in Nigeria..

Each tribe in Nigeria has its tribal location and region and some tribes have bigger regions than others.

so any person or people who enters a region the person is not indigenous too and starts screaming equity, equality and unity is only trying to deceive and manipulate the indigenes of that nation... because non-indigenes do not have the same privileges as indigenes and should never demand equity, equality and unity in a they are not indigenes because that means the non-indigenes are envious, covetious and hateful of the indigenes.

Why are you trying to defend Yorubas? It's best to ignore them.

Look at the oil industry. Niger Deltana have complained about Yorubas taking their jobs in oil companies. In the federal Civil service, Yorubas are well represented.

Igbos have done well for themselves. They are probably the richest ethnic group in Nigeria.
why does your comments reek of spite towards the yorubas? I think your indignation is best channeled towards the OP for trying to rewrite history with his fake statistics. And where did you get your facts that the Igbo people are the richest in Nigeria ? Another chest beating as usual

Please don't be ignorant. I know this lady personally. In fact, she is like a mum to me. Practically raised me up. She was the First female pilot in Nigeria. This is different from being the first female Nigeria Airways Pilot, which belongs to Hadiza Lantana Oboh. We also have the first Nigerian female fighter pilot, the first Nigerian female military pilot, the first Nigerian female helicopter pilot, etc. The thing is Hadiza was very popular because of her stint in Nigeria Airways. You claimed to be an aviator, but you can't differentiate between the first female pilot and the first Nigeria Airways female pilot. And before you brag about yourself being an aviator, I was practically born and raised in aviation since the mid-80s. My father is an Aircraft maintenance engineer, trained in NCAT, and was a colleague and friend to this great woman. I have seen good pilots I know die in Fixed-wing aircraft and Helicopter crashes. You are arguing against a lady who received a MON National award, conferred by GEJ to that effect (for being the first female pilot in Nigeria)? Calm down and help yourself with this video
