Did Jesus And His Disciples Steal Or Not? by AntiChristian: 3:41pm On Jul 25 |
You shall not steal is a very popular commandment which Moses, Jesus and Paul did promote from the old testament to the New testament: You shall not steal. Deuteronomy 5:19 You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15 You must not steal. You must not lie or deceive one another. Leviticus 19:11 Jesus even told the rich ruler to obey the commandments: “Which ones?” the man asked. Jesus answered, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness. Matthew 19:18 However we read: At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them. Matthew 12:1 One Sabbath Jesus was passing through the grainfields, and His disciples began to pick the heads of grain as they walked along. Mark 2:23 One Sabbath Jesus was passing through the grainfields, and His disciples began to pick the heads of grain, rub them in their hands, and eat them. Luke 6:1 1. Do you think this is stealing? 2. Do you think Jesus approved this laws to satisfy the hunger of his disciples? When you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, but you must not put any in your basket. When you enter your neighbor’s grainfield, you may pluck the heads of grain with your hand, but you must not put a sickle to your neighbor’s grain. Deuteronomy 23:25 3. If Jesus approved this law for his disciples can any Christian still obey this Jesus's law today? |
Re: Did Jesus And His Disciples Steal Or Not? by FxMasterz: 4:51pm On Jul 25 |
AntiChristian: Did anyone accuse Jesus of stealing? Did He and His disciples do it secretly? Did they break any law? The only accusation they gave Him was that He was plucking grains on the Sabbath. Why didn't they accuse Him of stealing? It's because this is what the law says: Deuteronomy 23:24 "If you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat all the grapes you want, but do not put any in your basket." Jesus broke no law. He stole nothing. But Mohammed was actually accused of stealing a very expensive garment. He was so accused because He couldn't even be trusted. I do not want to reply any of your threads because the devil has blinded your heart and you have remained obstinate. I even advised you to pray a neutral prayer which you rejected. You love the lies of Islam more than you love your soul. 5 Likes |

FxMasterz: Do that and don't lie Jesus and the disciples did not steal. You should define stealing which is permissible for Christians and that which is not till today! |
Re: Did Jesus And His Disciples Steal Or Not? by FxMasterz: 5:53pm On Jul 25 |
AntiChristian: 1. Do you think this is stealing? grinHave you ever seen a thief who enters another person's farm to steal in broad day light? Jesus and His disciples entered the farm openly in the open glare of everyone because the action was normal in Israel. The people, His enemies didn't act surprised because it was a normal thing legally permitted in Israel in those days. Everyone does this. The only problem they had with Him was that He was doing it on the Sabbath. An ignorant fellow like you who does not know the customs of the people, and who wasn't present at the event cannot accuse Him of what His contemporaries did not accuse Him of. A person is a thief only if he carries a bag into a farm according to the Jewish tradition. This is different from the case of Mohammed who was accused of stealing because even the people could not vouch for him in terms of integrity! 2. Do you think Jesus approved this laws to satisfy the hunger of his disciples?Jesus didn't have to approve any law. He wasn't an approver of laws. It was the law of Moses, and Mosaic laws were what shaped Jewish customs in those days. The tradition of entering into a farm to eat without carrying anything home was a normal tradition in Israel. If anyone takes a bag into the farm, that's the only time he or she can be called a thief. When you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, but you must not put any in your basket. When you enter your neighbor’s grainfield, you may pluck the heads of grain with your hand, but you must not put a sickle to your neighbor’s grain. Deuteronomy 23:25The law shaped Israel's traditions. That was Israel's custom. Jesus didn't command everyone to practice the law of Moses. A Christian should obey the law of His land. If the law in your land allows this custom, obey it as a Christian. If the law of your land does not allow this custom, obey the law of your land as a Christian. The Bible teaches us to obey the laws of the land. Can you now tell us which law Mohammed was obeying when he was sleeping with a 9yr old girl whom he started fingering from age 4? Or tell us the law he was obeying when he took over the wife of his stepson. 3 Likes |

AntiChristian: FRANCISTOWN: If you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat enough grapes to satisfy your appetite, but you should not put any in your container. If you go into your neighbor’s field of standing grain, you may pluck the ripe ears with your hand, but you should not put a sickle to your neighbor’s grain. Deuteronomy 23:24-25 No country in the world today where this laws are in force even modern day Israel because they're no longer using God's commandments unlike their forefathers under the Mosaic laws. But in Jesus' day Jews were still practicing what the Mosaic says (partially) though they were under Roman rule! |

FxMasterz: You will have to show us the law Muhammad contravened in his marriage to Aa'isha with her father's consent. I will say Jesus broke two commandments of Moses which are also the commandments he approved of! You shall not steal. Just because it is common for people to steal doesn't make it normal! That's why you refuse to define stealing! What exactly is stealing from the Bible? Love your neighbour as yourself. If you love your neighbour will you openly steal his grain? And you have the audacity to say openly stealing grains is a common thing which was permitted in Israel in those days! The second commandment broken is covetousness. Deuteronomy 5:21 says: “You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife; and you shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field, his male servant, his female servant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.” So even if they were hungry they shouldn't have covet their neighbours' grains! They didn't have faith like the mustard seed. Didn't Jesus say if you have faith like the mustard seed you can move mountains? How about Jesus miraculously providing food for them? Shebi what God cannot do does not exist! And ask and you shall be given! I remember Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone...but here when they wanted to steal men had to survive by neighbour's grain! And also why did they steal instead of reciting the lord's prayer "Give us this day out daily bread" 🍞? |

Re: Did Jesus And His Disciples Steal Or Not? by MaxInDHouse(m): 4:34am On Jul 26 |
AntiChristian: Stealing according to God's commandments in that context is what you took and while going it's discovered in your possession not what you eat to survive. Note what that law says: "If you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat enough grapes to satisfy your appetite, but you should not put any in your container." Deuteronomy 23:24 Note the three points: • Neighbor's vineyard • Eat enough grapes to satisfy your appetite • You should not put any in your container So from the standpoint of the God of Israel it's the grapes found in your possession on your way out of your neighbor's vineyard that's stealing! |

AntiChristian:#2. The Law of Moses happened to be the National Constitution in the nation of Judah in the land of Canaan. Every Israelite in the land at the time live under the Law that was YHWH until the Kingdom of God came at the end of days -- after the death of Jesus Christ #3. His disciples were Israelites and existed in the land of Israel and were subjects of the Law like Jesus Christ was. |

One fine quality i have learned from the true Christians (Jehovah's Witnesses) is how they're happy to be accused by genuine and sincere individuals who wants to know the reason behind their faith in the God of their choice, it gives them the opportunity to bear thorough witness about the true God in a loving way! 1Peter 3:13-15 So it's their zeal, calmness and boldness when speaking about their God {Matthew 7:28-29} that amazes me and i just can't deny the fact that they are the true followers of Christ that's why i abandoned Islam to become one of them today. After few discussions on faith in the Bible God these are the comments of a Nairalander about my attitude: Questionnaires: Questionnaires: So just as Jesus calmly addressed a Jews who felt nothing good could come out of Jesus' place of residence {John 1:46} true Christians were taught by Christ Jesus to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves {Matthew 10:16} it will go a long way in convincing sincere and honest hearted individuals that we are the students {Act 1:8} taught by the world's most wonderful counselor of all time {Isaiah 9:6} Jesus of Nazareth! |

AntiChristian: It's either you don't have sense or you are a slowpoke. No offence. So, assuming a government gives a law that anyone can enter into a place to pick something as long as such a person does not take more than 2 of that thing, anyone who goes to take that thing is a thief? Such a person is covetous? The Pharisees and the people around didn't shout that they've caught a thief, yet to you that is stealing? Stealing is to take something belonging to another secretly without the owner's consent. As long as everyone has consented to that law, anyone can eat from any farm whenever he or she is hungry. The only thing is that you must not go in there with a bag! I don't know why someone would have to be explaining such a simple thing to a supposed adult. Now, let me answer your question on Mohamed. How many people in Arabia at Mohammad s time were ever recorded to have married a 4yr old? The father of the girl was obviously forced to consent or else he'll die. Which father in his sane mind would hand over his daughter to a so called prophet to start defiling her at 4 and have sex with her at 9? If mohammed was to be alive today, he'll be in jail. 1 Like |

FxMasterz:You've already abused. I support report you to the mods but make i forgive you! I dey good mood! So, assuming a government gives a law that anyone can enter into a place to pick something as long as such a person does not take more than 2 of that thing, anyone who goes to take that thing is a thief? Such a person is covetous? The Pharisees and the people around didn't shout that they've caught a thief, yet to you that is stealing?Which government approved any law? So if you take few grains it is not stealing but if you take more then that is stealing? Is this a Christian law or was Jesus and his disciple simply Jewish? Stealing is to take something belonging to another secretly without the owner's consent. As long as everyone has consented to that law, anyone can eat from any farm whenever he or she is hungry. The only thing is that you must not go in there with a bag! I don't know why someone would have to be explaining such a simple thing to a supposed adult. You should explain it because this law only exists in the Bible! No country uses such laws as far as i know! So if politicians steal money so far as it is stolen publicly and they didn't carry Ghana must go they didn't steal! Or let's say they stole few millions because they were hungry! My guy stealing is stealing! All these excuses no cut am! Now, let me answer your question on Mohamed. How many people in Arabia at Mohammad s time were ever recorded to have married a 4yr old?You should bring evidence they don't exist! The father of the girl was obviously forced to consent or else he'll die.Where is your proof? Which father in his sane mind would hand over his daughter to a so called prophet to start defiling her at 4 and have sex with her at 9?The Prophet married her at 6 years with the father's consent. The father is one of the closest companion of the Prophet and the first Caliph after the Prophet. He was the one who completed the compilation of the Qur'an. He also accompanied the Prophet from Mecca to Medina when they were persecuted. The best man on earth after the Prophets of Allah! Abu Bakr was also a very rich man who gave everything for Islam! May Allah be pleased with him and others! If mohammed was to be alive today, he'll be in jail. The simple question you are yet to answer is which laws did he break in the scripture or any common laws of his time? |
Re: Did Jesus And His Disciples Steal Or Not? by FxMasterz: 9:33am On Jul 26 |
AntiChristian: A law is a law. Not every law exists in every country. Whatever a country accepts as law, no one can accuse any citizen of such country of anything as long as they have acted within the ambits of their laws The citizens didn't complain. The farm owner didn't complain. The enemies of Jesus didn't complain. It is not stealing according to the customs of those days. I didn't abuse you, I can't just fathom why one has to explain such a simple thing to an adult. Keep your forgiveness to yourself because you're simply being mischievous. You're the first to blaspheme, so let the mods look into it. The passage is clear. No one has ever made such idiotic accusation as the one on this thread. Such a clear passage? Who accuses anyone for practicing the custom of his land except a slowpoke! The custom is a good custom because God promised the Israelites that if they allow the hungry to feed in their farms, He'll bless them as a result. Mohammed broke a moral law by taking advantage of the kid. It isn't the father of a woman alone that's supposed to give consent. The woman must give consent too. Mohammed took the infant without the infant's consent. Both mohammed and the girl's father would be in jail if they were to be living today. 1 Like |

Re: Did Jesus And His Disciples Steal Or Not? by MaxInDHouse(m): 10:34am On Jul 26 |
AntiChristian: I've told you several times that you surely have the zeal to TALK about God but unfortunately Islam is not the right place for you. Take preaching for instance, in ancient times when people do talk about God to their neighbors what makes it appropriate back then? Well it's because those gods are like rulers and the ancient kings also claim to be demigods in their own territories so it makes sense for the kings and gods to send town criers to their subjects/worshipers regarding informations they have for them that's why it is recorded in the Bible that prophets back in ancient Israel used to go into their streets, villages, towns and cities preaching aloud everywhere they go. From the time of Moses till the day of John the baptist Prophets do preach aloud in Streets because all passersby are familiar with the God or king whose message the criers or prophets brought to them. Here in Africa our traditional rulers and priests of our gods does the same sending town criers to inform the people of whatever is imminent. But by the time Jesus of Nazareth introduced Christianity it was totally a different story as he will not shout in the streets disturbing passersby {Matthew 12:19} rather he was going to meet people in their homes to speak with them one on one. Why the difference? Because by the time Jesus walked the earth it wasn't one God that inhabitants of Jerusalem worshiped anymore. There were Roman governors living within Judea and mixed tribes under the Roman empire lives everywhere so shouting in the streets about a God that's not familiar with all passersby makes no sense anymore, that's why Jesus told his disciples to visit only Jews in their homes as they will easily understand what these preachers are doing unlike people who don't have any business with the God of the Jews. Matthew 10:6 What about our time? Does it make sense shouting in the streets? Well it's totally inappropriate because within our neighborhood there are Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Traditionalists, Atheists, Agnostics, Judaists and of course members of Christendom churches all claiming they're intelligent people. So imagine an individual in your street shouting and telling people that they will perish not because they broke any societal laws but due to having a different view regarding sacred service to God. So what Jesus of Nazareth introduced that day remains the best ever in talking about God as you approach your neighbor, introduce yourself and strike a conversation with him or her about what God requires of mankind. This will make the serenity appealing as your listener will feel at home asking you questions and you also responding in a neighborly manner even if both of you disagree on views the cordiality can't end just like that rather you will learn about your neighbor's dos and donts with a view to his beliefs while he also learn about yours hence both of you can relate peacefully after knowing what each other believes. But what if you stand in your mosque and with a megaphone start throwing tantrums against your neighbors regarding their beliefs and they also does the same to you in their churches how easily do you think peace could be achieved? No wonder the Bible referred to Jesus as the world's most wonderful counselor of all time! Isaiah 9:6 I really love your zeal but to be frank with you there is nothing positive that could be achieved in speaking abusively about your neighbor's beliefs neither will God judge them for speaking against yours! |

Re: Did Jesus And His Disciples Steal Or Not? by MaxInDHouse(m): 12:38pm On Jul 26 |
AntiChristian: YES! You can be confused but in this context who defines STEALING, a 21th century Muslim or the Author of that law you're quoting? Well from His viewpoint neither the sower or the one eating owns the land or grains that was planted nor do they have power to make it grow so it's the One who has all the power to give mankind life, grains, land, rain and sunshine who later said if someone is hungry he or she could pluck grains enough to satisfy his or her appetite within the land of Israel! To God the person claiming ownership of the grain field is guilty of blood if his neighbor should die of hunger while he is storing grains for money! Imagine someone watched his fellow believer suffer and die of hunger while he is stockpiling food for sale only to start starving himself claiming he is fasting for God!

Hehehe, only a slowspoke would justify a man over 50yrs fingering a 4 yr old. I guess that's what you've been doing in your neighborhoods. Like prophet like follower! Don't worry, go find a 4yr old to marry if you care to know what the law says. Just go to Lagos and test the law!
