Human rights activist Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN) has notified security agencies, requesting protection over planned public meetings, rallies, and processions by a non-governmental body, the Take It Back Movement, its members, some patriotic Nigerians and groups.

The letter dated Friday, July 26, 2024, the senior advocate writing as solicitor to the Take It Back Movement notified the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) that the planned rallies would commence from August 1 to 10, 2024, or any time thereafter.

He said the rallies would be held at the Eagle Square in Abuja and other public spaces in the capital cities of the 36 states and the headquarters of the 774 local government councils.

Adegboruwa while reiterating the role of the security agencies during such rallies and protests, urged the leadership of the security agencies to make available the details of any of their officers or teams that will be assigned to cover the said meetings/rallies/processions to harmonise plans and strategies for the same

Lolz. Who knows this fellow? Nobody. He probably wants to use protest to become popular and contest in the next elections.
Who goes asking a democratically elected president to scrap the Senate, sack the judiciary, become the judge of all the past presidents (except saint GEJ of course), and increase minimum wage by over 800% while bringing fuel price to 150naira per liter.
You need a brain if you're following such mad people.

FYI: Your emergency darling Dangote, who complained of not getting enough crude oil from FG, is currently selling crude oil. Refinery that is selling crude oil. Be playing there thinking anyone that speaks against FG is here to save you.

That’s the best thing to do. Instead of threatening and at the same time trying to coax the citizens from performing their fundamental human rights, the security agencies should make sure the protest is not hijacked.

Peaceful protest is recognised by law, but our fraudulent government always find a way to infiltrate any peaceful protest.

Issokay. Living in Nigeria is now very expensive, but dying is still free, just join the protest and soldiers that ran away from Boko Haram will be happy to use you for shooting practice

According to some nuisance here, this man is Obedient and Igbo.

Why is Tinubu and his minions so scared of what he was the chief instigator in Jonathan's regime?

The 2012 protest during Jonathan's regime was one of the reasons why the disaster that has continued to happen since 2015, which got worse under him, happened in the first place.

Hypocrites and failures.

The request can either be granted or denied. All depends on the circumstances

Those who want to copy Kenya's protest should tell us what exactly did the almost a month chaos and confusion protest achieved.

Opposition people have been appointed as new Ministers, there was jubilation across some of the places where they have been shouting Ruto must go as their tribes men are now in government, all president Ruto's sins have been forgiven

Adegboruwa is a Yoruba man.

The 'Take it Back Movement' is led by Sowore, another Yoruba man

But some divisive, cowardly and hate-filled Yorubas still find joy blaming Ibos for the protest.

Some Yorubas see Ibos in their dreams every night. The hate is real.

Gbam!
The Federal Government nicknamed them "Faceless Protesters" and now there's a bold & a highly respectable legal luminare who knows his rights from wrong coming forward with a notice and requests. The people have been pushed to the wall and their patience and tolerance taken for stupidity.

Spending N21 billion for the renovation of the official residence of the VPVP and spending so much on Hajj pilgrimage! New Presidential Aircraft, High end luxury vehicles to mention but a few. You don't pay for rent, transportation, feeding and what have you. Come on, Baba we need some fresh air!

Ok, so tell us what should Nigerians do now, in the face of these perilous times?

Sit back and watch? Or keep begging the government to do the right thing?

The security agencies will reply him appropriately

They will tell him to advise his clients not to proceed as they have Intel it's going to turn violent, they will then decline to provide security and hold him responsible for any breach of peace

Protests are legal but can be stopped legally too if there a possibility it will turn violent.

As usual and expected "Toh reactor" don drop tribalistic motivation for Ronu miscreants.

When it's a news that exposes the crime of APC, Ronu miscreants and their supporters or has northerners doing the talks and threats Hellanus will react with "TOH!"

But when it has to do with things related to Peter Obi, Obedients or Igbos all the hormones in his body will be all charged and stand up like NEPA pole.

___________________________
For the Igbos kindly avoid this protest. Especially in Lagos. It's a trap. No hate right here but my honest opinions based on several observations of statements made by most people from the west.

When we Igbos said we won't protest for knowing the obvious beforehand, rejecting it and being bullied for it and for avoidance of future blame game, we were accused of indifference with questions like,"Are we unaffected by the hardship?"

Alright, a few over sabi Igbos matched up on a twitter space to say we would join this protest and feed those that would come out if we have to, only for them (hate speech and false news peddlers) to now tag the whole thing an igbo protest. imagine the nonsense.

Whereas northerners (most) have been threatening fire and brimstone. But as usual it's always on you (Igbos).

Use your tongues to count your teeth. Husbands don't make your wife a widow, Sons don't make your mother a mourner/childless.

You do it, it becomes a problem, you don't, it also becomes a problem. It's better you don't. Prevention is always better than cure. For the discerning, one word is ample.
I drop my pen.

They have turned the Nigeria Police to clowns. People who should be protecting Nigerians are not tools used to hack them down.

Protest is a fundamental right enshrined in Nigeria’s constitution and the Police are charged to protect them while they protest.

Issuing all these baseless threats will NEVER deter Nigerians from exercising their right to protest.

Tribe this and that everytime. If other tribes now insist on going their separate ways, you instantly catch cold.
If you can't see what was achieved, let Ruto go ahead and implement the new salary structure for government officials which instigated the protests.

Why do you wish for ordinary Nigerians that are fed up with suffering and frustration to be killed by security forces that swore oath to protect them?

If Nigeria better, no be for everybody? Why are some of you so uncivilized perhaps because of clannish leanings
