It is possible for two things to be true at the same time. It is possible.

It is very possible for farm access to decline significantly...and yet some access is still possible to produce the yams you see in the market today.

You spoke about yam purchases you made on the mainland and in Ajah. This is a world away from farming communities in places like Gwer East and Gwer West. These yam hubs are under severe stress from heavily armed pastoralists. And there are several troubled places like that across Nigeria.

And that is why a foodstuff seller who bought a tuber of yam at benue for 1200naira decided to sell the same tuber of yam for 5000naira in lagos ?? 400% profit on just one tuber of yam?? Smh...

The funny thing is that those will bring all these things from the farm do not even claim it is fulani herdsmen or whatever that caused it..the excuse they all keep giving is that it is cost of transportation to other places that are making it expensive..and you begin to wonder if it is only a single tuber of yam that they will transport at once that made them to want to gain 400% on just a tuber of yam yet the same set of people will say government is selfish , heartless and greedy..meanwhile you are a citizen are doing exactly the same behaviour displayed by your government..you as a citizen is greedy too..because how will someone buy a yam for 1200 and sell for 5k..and claim it is transport that caused it ...is he or she buying their own fuel at 10000naira per litre ?? Or those that decided to sell that same yam for 2k in lagos are not transporting too Or they do not like money too?? Smh.. it is well

I think the problem is the price for bag of rice.....I noticed the price war between north and south sellers of farm produce. I also noticed when rice was increasing garri sellers increased theirs from the south.

No. I stay and interact with farmers daily. They have developed a strong appetite for excessive money. Let me shock you. Most farmers do not eat rice, but grow their potatoes and cassava they use for various foods like Garri, cassava flour etc. ice stayed with farmers on a day to day basis for over three years so i know their behaviors intimately

forget this Internet lies bro...in Ekiti State presently you can buy 5 tubers #1500... Every household can afford yam here in Ikole so I don't know why we are making things hard for ourselves then we blame Tinubu for everything. Just imagine it that I bought 1 gala #100 and the next junction the other person was selling it #150 and we still blame Tinubu for everything. I'm not saying there is no hardship but we are making things hard for ourselves too just to make too much profit

I stay in ikole, which market is that pls, odo ooro market, ikunri, ayedun, ayebode, ? just tell me. 50 big tubers of yam is 200k here sold in my presence in same ayedun market. 100 tubers of yam average size is about 500k here sold in my presence. what size is yours that you bought 5 tubers with 1500 naira.

so who will be at loss in the end

They have become this way. They don't care. Even when we hire them to do labour jobs, many times we educated farmers pay thrice for a single job. They just want to collect and collect and collect exorbitant rates for everything, from logistics to labour to the sales of their farm produce. The educated elites in Nigeria do not support educated farmers. There are techniques to mass produce yams, I am talking of up to One Million yams in just two years that the local farmers do not know if. But does Nigeria as a nation provide funding for research and developments ? Nigeria is also suffering from it's innate wickedness in all these too

Buhari stated that "a fight against Boko Haram is a fight against the north". Also, when Jonathan's mercenaries were dealing with Boko Haram very hard, Buhari cried out that "Jonathan is killing northerners".

No pity whatsoever! Nigerians deserve everything they get!

What did ThiefNuibu and his ACN’s Lai Mohammed do then? Did they not say that it was unconstitutional to ban Boko Haram?

Our Yorubalokan people were playing politics with our country’s prosperity, security and welfare as Fayemi confessed about the 2012 fuel deregulation and subsidy removal protests.

They sowed a whirlwind and they are harvesting the seeds of storms, tornadoes and hurricanes.

How can you not get it.....

The North is playing the same politics with it....

I've explained this already....

They're hoarding food and using Boko Haram to cause food scarcity and price hike.

Recently, in Kano they said that the Emir tussle will cause more people to carry arms and might be more dangerous than what Boko Haram is doing....

You should know that the North is really trying to control this government but they never said anything all through Buhari's regime.

I will contact you when I am really ready for agriculture biz.....I feel there need to be a structured system that benefits both farmers and the consumers. Food is not supposed to be a luxury and if something right is in place the prices will be forced down.

You will meet me on that path already. Would be expanding to 1,000 acres next year enroute my team's target of 5,000 acres with heavy yam production in the system. Yams shouldn't retail more than 4,000 - 5,000 Naira per piece for any reason. I am currently working on a model to quash down pricing if maize, pepper and tomatoes 2024/2025

We warned them but, they were concerned about Peter obi
Why did you bring Obi’s name in there when he wasn’t even the runner-up?
Tinubu’s concern was Atiku and Obi made it easy for him.
I warned during the last poll that the best chance to get Tinubu out is to vote massively for Atiku. Any other thought will continue to end in wishful thinking.
Also, Obidients, being logical without insulting people won’t kill you. Try it.

The thing with personnel is continuous experimentation. That's what I've learnt so far because people would come in motivated from day one, ones they've gotten used to you, they begin to slack off work which ultimately leads to work decline

You know the truth. I am not going to argue the obvious with you.

This isn't a game. BAT's pussyfooting (like those before him) has had real consequences for the most vulnerable members of communities like those in Gwer West and Gwer East local government areas. These are communities that were solidly agrarian from time. Today they are shadows of what they once were. undecided

I don't play these senseless propaganda games.

if the price of fuel goes down and the dollar rate goes down, every other thing will go down drastically because na this 2 factors dey control our economy.

so blame those that float the naira and removed subsidy without thinking about the push back. the farmers has no hand in it. you dont expect me to put 5k in cost of production and sell less.

Yam seedling costs 400 Naira max. So, why should yams sell so costly ?

A plot can accomodate 600 tubers and would only need some table spoons of NPK fron start till harvest, so why the expensive price. Most Nigerians thesedays heartlessly and indiscrimately increases the orice of their products to take advantage of their fellow human beings. Thieves

When you have a useless leader what are you people expecting? it is only in APC government that people easily inflate prices of items. This is very worrisome and I wonder if we are living in a banana republic already. Zero price control system. People are getting away with this fraud of exaggerating prices of items on the internet to cause panicking which in turn lead to inflation of prices. To buy something in any store in Nigeria, you have to walk from one store to another store to be able to afford it. They buy from the same producers and they make more profits than the producers buy inflating their profits. Example; On the same street we have different owners of store A, Store B, Store C and store D
They all have the same supplier of Product K and they all buy product K from the same supplier at 1200
Store A is selling product k at 1500
Store B is selling at 1800
Store C is selling at 1400
Store D is selling at 2000
This is another big problem in Nigeria now. which way Nigeria?
