The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has asked the organisers of the proposed August 1 nationwide protest to rescind their decision, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is acutely aware of the current plights of Nigerians and that he is working tirelessly and meticulously to resolve them.

He said what is required is for Nigerians to stand united, embracing a strong sense of patriotism and national pride, with firm support for the president as he leads the nation through this transformative period.

Tunji-Ojo, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Abuja, noted that the nation’s journey in about 64 years of independence has never been easy, but through collective resilience and patriotism, significant strides could be made

The statement read in part: “Sixty-four years after attaining sovereign status, our beloved nation has consciously strived towards the realisation of a better Nigeria.

“We stand at a pivotal moment in our history, where acknowledging our achievements and recognising the surmountable challenges ahead is essential

It is in this spirit of reflection and resolve that I find solace—and consider it a profound blessing—that we have a president who is bold, audacious, and tenacious enough to face these difficulties

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated unparalleled boldness and tenacity in confronting and addressing the longstanding issues that plague our nation

His unwavering commitment to overcoming these challenges is evident in every action he takes. President Tinubu is acutely aware of the current plights of Nigerians, and he is working tirelessly and meticulously to resolve them

In these times of both challenge and opportunity, it is imperative that we, the people of Nigeria, come together with renewed vigour and unwavering support for President Tinubu’s administration.

“Our nation’s journey has never been easy, but it is through our collective resilience and patriotism that we have made significant strides

He is not just a leader; he is a symbol of our collective aspirations for a prosperous and equitable Nigeria.

“Now, more than ever, we must rally behind President Tinubu’s vision for our country. His administration is dedicated to creating lasting solutions that will uplift every Nigerian, ensuring that our future is one of hope, opportunity, and justice.

“Let us renew our commitment to this noble cause, knowing that together we can overcome any obstacle and achieve the Nigeria of our dreams.

“As we embark on this journey, let us remember that the strength of our nation lies in our unity and our unwavering belief in a brighter future. President Tinubu is leading us with courage and determination, and with our support, there is no challenge we cannot surmount.

“Let us stand together, Nigeria, and renew our pledge to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he works diligently to build a better, stronger, and more prosperous Nigeria for all,” he stated

“We call upon every Nigerian to stand united, embracing a strong sense of patriotism and national pride. Our support and commitment are crucial as President Tinubu leads us through this transformative period

Protests can sometimes result in damage to private property and government infrastructure. Instead, let's embrace dialogue and reject chaos.

It is well with Nigeria. However we are far behind! We need the government to deliver more quickly, policy actions are too slow compared to the scale of decadence in our socioeconomic systems

I don’t support anarchy or a regime change, I subscribe to the fact that the ballot is where to vote( that’s if the elections are free) but lot at the posters, the protesters in 2012 said Jonathan must go!

Embrace dialogue

No To Anarchy

Please don't protest, things will get worse after the protests. Embrace dialogue with Tinubu.

You have allowed him get there, let him do his work in peace.

Wait for 2027, then protest with your votes.

Since the government don't want to dance to the tone of Nigerian's, i believe Nigerian's will play the music for them to dance.

I don't support the protest but fellos our leaders don't have respect and honour for their citizens.

Lot's of people are committing suicide daily. See it's pains me dearly

Just listen to this fool.how was it between 1999- 2007 under baba obj? Sad to say this, 90% of obj progress, including employment has been destroyed, only 10% dey. APC added nothing to the 10%. Imagine Nigeria degenerate to a level where Nigerians now protest for just ordinary hunger, not to talk of bad policies, 900 % inflation and government promising so called palliative

The Economy was relatively viable when Buhari took over from GEJ, but Buhari crumbled the economy in his 8yrs.
Tinubu can not be exonerated because he was largely instrumental to Buhari's emergence. Infact Tinubu claims he made Buhari president.

And so far, Tinubu has continued from where Buhari stopped increasing the level of hunger and suffering of Nigerians.

Tinubu is a leader who understands the weight of the challenges Nigeria faces. His address is not just talk; it's a clear signal that he is ready to tackle these issues head-on.

For too long, we have been held back by the same old problems, but with Tinubu at the helm, there's a renewed hope for solutions that actually work.

It's about time we support a government that is willing to face the hard truths and take action. The path to progress requires bold decisions, and it's refreshing to see Tinubu stepping up to the plate.

Let's rally behind his vision and commitment to moving Nigeria forward, because with the right leadership, the sky is the limit!

Did Tinubu and his allies give Goodluck Jonathan breathing space and allow him to solve decade-long challenges when he and his allies sponsored, funded, and organised protests and civil disobedience against his regime, even going as far as threatening to form a parallel government?

The truth is some people in Nigeria are used to suffering and hardship to point that, abnormal way of life has become normal to them.

It makes it difficult to have a better country when you share the same country with stvpid/dumba$$ people like that.

The sad truth is that by the time some of you people become 50 years of age in that God forsaken country you won’t have anything to show for it.

These dumba$$/stvpid people kids will join them in the suffering and hardship struggle they enjoyed and the kids too might see has a normal life.

Continue to give the useless heartless Nigerians government more time, you gave buhari 8 years what do you have to show for it ? Nothing

Well, as for those of us we can’t bear the hit we have left that failed country. Life is too short to allow yourself to be subjected to hardship and suffering.

God bless America.

Decades of challenges can't be addressed in a single term of 4yrs except when a leader careless what becomes of his subjects.

The foundation is faulty, the constitution isn't a people centered and so many ills but it's always comfortable to address it where it hardened the common man.

The sacrifice should start from the top where national assembly show by example by reducing its overhead and her expenditure.

We don't need unicameral legislation, it should be bi-camera or at best a part term basis. What do we need two chambers for when we can try to cut-cost and reduce unnecessary spending on politicians

Every average Nigerian want to become a politician because is the only way to escape poverty.
