anything team from Africa will collect more than 3 goals from Spain

What was wrong with it? We were going to defend much more in the late minutes. He has to bring new attackers that use new energy in a counter attack and resting other strikers at the same time. We have another game in three days.
Good... now the issue is those he brought in are not good for counter attack because they're not fast. Except Kanu whom he brought in just to saddle her with defensive duties.

No!! bad Positioning and Bad Judgment from her. Did you see her starting position and where she was running to claim the ball? she was attempting to rush all the way out of the 6 yard box to claim the ball. You don't veer way off from your goal line, because any "Ok" in-Player will definitely beat you.

She made a good judgement. 9 out of 10 times a freekick from that angle is a cross. As a goalkeeper you cannot wait till the ball is near you to position yourself. If she stays on the line and its a cross, there will be space for the two spain shirts in front to score.

FT: Spain 1-0 Nigeria

Alexia Putellas pretty unstoppable shot home (85') proves the decider as the world champions advance to the quarter-finals with a game to spare.

Nigeria face Japan in their final group match on 31/07.

At least Zambia can score goals. Our own can't pass accurately. They can't trap the ball. They can't score

Ifeoma Onumonu is a major culprit on this..

if you indeed watch this match and you have the temerity to criticize these girls after this game. May thunder fire you and your generation both past amd present and the one to come.

If you watch this match and you feel another African team would’ve done better against this Spain, may your generation never amount to nothing, waste upon waste go be their own.

I’ve always criticized this team, but judging by what i saw at the last world cup and what am still seeing, these girls don’t deserve any form of bashing after losing by whiskers to World class teams. Yet some idiots are still criticizing them, what else do you want? Make dem die?

If you would resort to strawman like this don't quote me abeg. Your comment is borderline illogical. I don't even Ihezuo's biggest fan and really do not fancy her as a player but she is miles ahead of the girls you keep bringing up. Ajibade also missed a chance, by your logic Ajakaye should take her place abi. Let them even get 10 minutes of gametime first in their clubs before you start advocating for them.

Is it the same Ajakaye that couldn't score goals at the u17 world cup amongst her peer?

Zambia's coach must be very inexperienced. I'm sure he waited till Australia started to score before he tried to defend his lead. As a coach you should be able to make decisions ahead of time.

Zambia had no business playing upfront in the second half.

Going forward, Onumonu has no business being on this team. She can’t seem to get anybody right. She’s a paper weight, she’s easily disposed off the ball. She can’t even stand her ground.

These girls can ball!!!! I wan cry. These girls dey gimme joy!

mention the three teams with better team than super falcons
Teams like SA and Morocco play better football. We legit could not string up to 5 passes.

Not necessarily. If we beat Japan by 1 goal and Brazil loses by 2 goals we go 3rd.

There's even a scenario where we go 2nd in the group.

If we beat Japan by by 2 goals and Brazil losses by 2 goals we go second in the group.

I'm baffled at how people criticise the super falcons without consideration. In as much as they lost, they also tried.
This is Spain: would Zambia or Morroco have played them better??

A part of me wants this people to get their wish so we they can see how bad we were before Waldrum.

Like are these people even serious?

I watched Arsenal play Man City last season and they played exactly the same way we played today to get one point. If we had taken our chances we would have won this game.

"What's Wrong with it"?? Really? I just don't know how to even begin answering you...But I'll try. To begin with, he was the one who selected 5 defenders, 3 Midfielders and 8 million Strikers... Keyword here is STRIKERS and not ATTACKERS !

Now to the subs....You are playing to hit Spain on the break and he thought that Onumonu and Ihezuo are the ones to accomplish that? and not only that, Shoehorning players to roles they aren't suited for, just so he could have his people and the 8 million Strikers on the field. Of What use is Onumonu from the Wings? of What Use is Ihezuo When you need you Striker to drop deep and help out in midfield and also have the ability to run in behind or lead a counter?.

Shafting Toni into midfield, when you need said Midfielder to win you headers or win the second ball whenever your striker wins her duels and knock them down?.....Ajibade playing almost as a RB the entirety of the 2nd half?

I'll just stop for now. Good game from the girls, they defended resolutely, but unfortunately , they never had any outlet to attack, because they weren't given any to begin with.

Sir Love, there's no point engaging any maniac that's not making logical sense. The girls did their best and a needless freekick undid the team. Not sure we can still make it but hey we have nothing to lose anyway.
I feel Toni also let the team down, yes she rán and hustle a lot but she didn't help the team move the ball forward at all.
