You are asking if it is a sin for Christians to take alcohol when Jesus Christ they followed performed his first miracle turning water to alcohol for people to drink?

When addressing whether drinking alcohol is a sin for Christians, it is essential to differentiate between the consumption of alcohol and drunkenness. The Bible does not categorically state that drinking alcohol is a sin, but it strongly warns against drunkenness and its associated behaviors. So, here are some questions: can you drink alcohol without getting drunk? Can you drink it without getting addicted? can you drink it without resulting to behaviors such as smoking, womanizing, and keeping bad company. Lastly, do you think Jesus will drink alcohol and sit comfortably in such environment? If you answer no to any of these questions, then the answer is obvious to you.
Let's look at these Biblical facts:

Drunkenness is Condemned in the Bible:
Ephesians 5:18: "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit."
Proverbs 20:1: "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."

While the Bible acknowledges the consumption of wine. 1 Timothy 5:23 even suggests using a little wine for medicinal purposes: "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." This confirms the fact that wine have medicinal use including alcohol and as such there is no problem.

John 2:1-11: Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding in Canaan by turning water into wine. There is no indication that this was an alcoholic beverage intended for drunkenness, but rather a symbol of joy and celebration.

Proverbs 23:29-35 describes the negative effects of drinking: "Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine."

Alcohol’s Influence on Behavior:
Drunkenness can lead to loss of self-control and immoral behavior. Galatians 5:19-21 lists drunkenness among the works of the flesh that are contrary to living by the Spirit: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness... envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Christians are called to be a good example and not cause others to stumble. Romans 14:21 says, "It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak."

While the Bible does not explicitly label the consumption of alcohol as a sin, but the Bible is clearly against drunkenness and its consequences. As Christians, the focus should be on maintaining self-control, being filled with the Spirit, and avoiding behaviors that can lead to sin or cause others to stumble. Therefor, abstaining from alcohol is best decision for any believer.

let me ask you a question, what is a wine?

From my understanding, wine is any form of finely processed drink which could be either contain alcohol in some quantity or not at all.

God approved the consumption of alcoholic beverages right inside His courtyard {Deuteronomy 14:26} that's why Eli the Highpriest in Hannah's day thought she was drunk while praying inside the Tabernacle but do you noticed that even the Highpriest never said it's unlawful to drink intoxicating liquor? 1Samuel 1:12-14

That's why Jesus also takes in intoxicating liquor at times since it's not a sin but self righteous religionists of his days chose to accuse him so they called him a drunkard even though he was never drunk! Luke 7:31-35

Because Muhammad lacks self control doesn't mean alcoholic beverages is a sin, what we eat or drink doesn't get over us because we know our limit in everything we do! Matthew 15:16-18

Sorry this is not about an Arabian you worship who can't control his libido! smiley

My choice is stout or wine due to my choice of taste and Jesus also enjoyed himself in the flesh the only thing he never did was SEX because he knew he won't spend much time on planet earth unlike Muhammad who wanted everything only to watch all his children die during his lifetime and Fatima who was his only surviving child (daughter) also died six months after Muhammad's death! smiley

Anything wine is alcoholic because it is a juice that has undergone fermentation.
